Nasci Giveaway anyone? We've got a couple of lure videos coming up, then we will be off onto Reels. Tight lines legends and thanks for getting involved and supporting the channel.
Hi Byron, your unbiased no bullshit reviews is why I keep coming back, you also only review quality product mate so thanks for the heads up on these Shimano rods. The 702SPL Anarchy would be perfect for the Macleay River Bass and the Jewel 1-7g 7'0" 1 piece 1-Kg would be a fantastic finess rod for Whiting, Bream and Flatties
Sweet as review mate on target for what I'm looking for at the mo as I'm currently running Shimano maikuro and coming up the ladder. I also agree there is nowhere near enuf info on the rods. These happen to be the rods I'm evaluating and the website isn't good enuf. Don't get me started on the Daiwa td black range website! Anyways I will have a Anarchy 702SPL and a Jewel JSP5 (to replace my JW boat rod for jigging ) these other guys have way too much gear hahaha cheers
Great review again. Love the honesty. I’m super fussy with my reel seats and grips, so I don’t think either would suit me. Don’t put me in for the prizes, just commenting for the channel.
Spewing about the first rod up not sounds like you weren’t disappointed with the second always like the line of the rods Great video always love them thx
Great review Byron. I certainly agree with you in regards to information companies give on rods. All the numbers and letters Don't make any sense to most of us, including me. Bought plenty of rods and got onto the water and they certainly don't do what I was after. So a complete waste of money. As far as choose a rod that you have reviewed, I'd have to do so more research first before choosing.
Always respect your honest, no punches pulled reviews mate. I believe all manufactures shouldn't be afraid of a little open and honest feedback on their products, it gives them an endless pool of information for future development. After forking out for a few new rods (Infeet 20 732LFS & TD Black Supercasta) I do have a hole to fill in the Surf/Rock slot so the Anarchy 902SP or the Jewel 962SP for slinging a few stick baits would fill the bill. Keep up the good work Byron.
Another Great review Byron! Good to hear Shimano were quick to warranty the rod, that's why I think Shimano are unbeatable - peace of mind. After hearing the Anarchy are back after a long hiatus, I would like to try out the 902SP for a spin on the rocks, cheers for a chance at the give away!
Great review as always, super appreciate the honesty, hard to come by these days. Big +1 to brands needing to provide more information about their rods. So much ambiguity as well as too much marketing fluff.
1st cast during a rod review, you couldn't script that if you tried 🤣 Great after sales & support from your tackle store and Shimano though 👏 Another great break down Byron, keep them coming 👌
Awesome review Byron, gotta say the Anarchy really stood out to me, wouldn’t mind another ultralight rod, so the 610SPUL sounds like the one best suited for me. Honestly love the review and looks to be an amazing rod to use for those ultralight tackle fish. Keep up the solid work mate!!
Another useful and honest review, Byron! I am thinking about purchasing a new Light\Ultra Light rod at the moment. I would nominate JEWEL 21JL702SPUL and ANARCHY 21AN682SPLM.
Great vid bro, after comparing both rods side by side, 1 100%agree with what you said about the hook keeper on the jewels, very uncomfortable, my preferred model in the anarchy is 782ulf and the 721spl in the jewels🤙
Great video mate, I think Baitcaster is the way to go the Jewel- 6’4” 3-7kg and the Anarchy Baitcaster 662BCM 3-6kg Cheers Byron, looking forward to the sounder head to head🤙🎣
Great work again Byron - Dang you have got to cry when you break a nice rod - at least they sorted you quickly under warranty- I need a couple of heavier rods so would be looking at the Anarchy 6102spm and the Jewel 7'2" 4-8kg.
@@ByronTeaHill I was wondering where the join in the 2pc anarchy rod is? Is it half way up the blank or is it down near the handle like the Zodias 2pc rods are?
The anarchy 662BCM would be used for light or river Murray cod fishing and for the jewel 962SP8-15 for chasing kingfish off the rocks or casting big baits for snapper. I’ve had the older models of these rods but have sadly broken both of them.
Another great video mate. Been looking at the new anarchy series as a mid range upgrade on some of the older rods I have. I like the look of the anarchy 3-6 kg baitcast rod 21AN662BCM for some all round bass fishing and the jewel 7 foot 1-4kg spin rod 21JL701SPUL for a new beam stick for my son. Cheers
Hi Byron, unlucky on the first cast, good to hear the shop and manufacturer come through, I would like to give the Anarchy 702SPL a flick as I feel it would be a great all rounder, see you on the next one👍
Awesome review as always, glad the warranty went through ok. The 782ulf in the anarchy range looks interesting and you can never have too many 7'ers 😂, so the 7' 1peice 1-4kg in the jewel I reckon. Looking forward to the next few reviews!
As always, great review 👍. My choice would have to be the Anarchy 902 6-12 spin and jewel 702 1-4kg Spin. Hope you're getting enough down time mate....looking like you're burning the candle at both ends. Cheers 👍👌
If I were to get my self a new rod, I’d go the anarchy 782ULF, being long and light weight it’s suited for everything I fish for in my local area upgrading my raider 703BRM
Hey Byron Been in the market for a new light rod for soft plastics after my Td hyper snapped 🥲 The anarchy definitely stands out to me, in particular the 6102SPUL! Loved the review mate, keep em coming!
Great review Byron, really informative on these products that just hit the market. For the Anarchy, I've got a hold of the 702SPL, which is a good all-rounder light lure rod. But my eyes are on the 902SP, that I considered for trying something new: Surf Casting and Shore Jigging. A kind of fishing that I rarely do, but would love to give it a go.
Great video once again Byron. Wish I could go fishing as much as you do mate haha. I'd love the 902 in the anarchy for a bit of beach fishing that Ive rarely done but would love to try. In the Jewel I reckon the 7'2 1-3 kg would be great for throwing little plastics over weed flats for bream and flathead. Cheers
Great review as always Byron! I reckon the 702spl anarchy would be a really nice all round rod for bass pretty much any light-medium estuary fish and for the jewel, the 641BC looks really nice as I haven’t had the chance to learn to use a baitcaster before. Thanks
Thanks Byron, again very informative. I would love to try the Anarchy 702SPL hooked up with my Daiwa LT AIRD 2500 reel. I would use it to chase yellas in the depths of the trees in my local hole (Googong dam) from my Hobie Ouback
Hey Byron, thanks again for the great review! I’ve actually had my eyes on the new jewel spinning rod in the 7’0” 2pc 3-6kg since it came out. Seems like it’ll be really good for chasing rat kings and jewfish in the harbour.
That’s an awesome bream, well done. Love seeing the quality of fish in your videos. Was considering buying the jewel as a Christmas present but think I will steer clear, excellent review. The anarchy 702spl looks great and would make a great upgrade for my dad for Christmas. Look forward to more reviews.
Hey mate another great vid, definitely agree that there should be a description on what the rod is for and that's exactly why I went with another brand for all my current rods.... The 610SPUL Anarchy 1-3kg looks like an OK alrounder for bream out of the yak on the specs.
Another smashing review mate. Sucks about the breakage. The 6102spul 1-3kg would suit my style of fishing. Happy fishing and can’t wait for your next video to drop.
Thanks Byron for the continual content that you keep bringing. As others here you have taught me more on your channel then I have found anywhere else on UA-cam. And the best part mate is your honest with all your content, actually live in Australia and you have a great sense of humour buddy. Keep up the great work and hope many more find this channel and subscribe, to the point that you can make a living from it, cos you deserve it buddy. P.S I very rarely comment on UA-cam pages.
Rudy! thanks for the comment and I'm pumped you decided to comment. It's a pretty cool thing to learn from UA-cam, its a cool platform to pick up how to videos! thanks for getting involved and sharing your thoughts Rudy, cheers legend
The 7 foot jewel would be for chasing the bass and getting them out of timber, like you said but if stiffer road so might suit that. 662BCM would be cool as I need a new baitcast haha. Great quality of video again mate!
I’ve a gap in my line-up for something between light rods and jigging rods - so something like the Anarchy 6102SPM or 702SPMH or the Jewel 7’ 3-6KG or 7’2”” 4-8KG would work a treat.
Good stuff mr no-net 😂. Really enjoy the no BS reviews that you provide, thanks for the content. For the light stuff, I like the 6102SPUL (anarchy) and/or the 7' (1-4kg) jewel. Tight lines mate.
Awesome vid as always, and good to see Shimano came to the party for the warranty. I reckon the 21AN702SPMH would make a nice light kingy stick off the yak 👍. Now, i need to lie down after scrolling up and down that specs table for too long 😵
Awesome Byron, I love the look of these rods. I would love the 21JL621JSP3 Jewel I have the older model and find it super tough and sensitive which makes it a good all rounder. And the 21AN682SPLM Anarchy. Sounds good option for light Spin. Cheers
Love your content, thanks for putting up so many competitions. Just dropped in to say hello and keep up the good work with your vids. Ive particularly enjoyed the Lure Challenge series as it's helped me refine some techniques, like with the cranka crab. Cheers!
I’d go the 58JOH In the Anarchy series and the 10-40g 7’4” 2piece in the Jewel range. Just for a heavier set up and something different to most of the set ups I have.
I actually have 3 jewels although they aren't the most expensive in my arsenal they always get a run... 7'6" 5-12kg anarchy would be perfect for my 5000 and for the jewel 7'2" 2-4kg would be just perfect all round flatty, jewie, snapper rod... keep up the awesome videos 👍👍
Nice review, Byron. I would go for the 6102SPM Anarchy rod. It feels like with this rod you could be somewhere between light and medium spinning. I am looking for an all around rod as a beginner in this type of fishing.
I'd probably go for the following, not for me, but for my father-in-law. He could do with an upgrade on the gear he uses in his tinny, chasing flatties and bream. Jewel 2pc 7' 1-4kg or Anarchy 2pc 6'10" 1-3kg Keep up the great content. The comments show that there are plenty of anglers out there who are willing to listen and learn from your advice. Watching people catch great fish on UA-cam is fun, but understanding how they did it is way more valuable.
Nice Review, for what its worth ill have a crack a lack at the 21 Anarchy 61025PUL & Shimano Jewel JL702SPUL..Would fit well in my Yak .On Sandflats mostly id use them.
Thanks for another informative video, I enjoy watching your reviews and content. As mention in your video, I own one of the original Anarchy by Ian Miller spin rods which is fantastic. Would be interesting to compare this to the new range now available. So in the Anarchy range I would chose the 702SPL 2-4kg spin. As for the Jewel it may be better for a different use so would go the 702SPM 3-6kg spin.
For the anarchy I would go the 6102SPM (3-6kg) for general estuary applications as well as light inshore. For the jewel the 702SPM for the same reasons.
Another great and informative video. I’ve been thinking about upgrading my 10+ year old jewel and upgrading to a more modern setup. I would go for the same rods you reviewed 1-4kg Jewel or a 1-3kg Anarchy.
Love your reviews as always Byron! Super helpful when looking to purchase new gear. I would love to give the 6102SPUL a go for the anarchy. Would be super fun on light gear as I love the bend and feel on these rods. As for the jewel, i reckon the 1-4kg 7’0’’ would be fun with snappers and cods in the bay!
Ooo^,^ love your videos!!! I enjoy watching your fishing videos, dono why but I like your facial reactions with the laugh when the fish is on!! 😅 and would go for 3-6kg spin rod for those bigger flatty.. as new to lures fishing world so have no idea how those work just yet...
Great vid as always ! Would love a Anarchy 662BCM Bait caster . Have been getting back into flicking soft plastics and would love something to replace my $99 special
Informative video as always! For the Anarchy, I would go with the 6102SPUL (1-3kg) Spin. For the Jewel, the 7'2" (1-3kg) Spin. Would use both for general fishing in estuaries and sand banks
If I was just getting into lure fishing, the Anarchy 702SPL looks to be a great place to start. I’m guessing SPL stands for Soft Plastic Light??? Not knowing the rod application is a good point.
Hey mate, nice review. Shame about the first cast snapage but good news they followed up straight away. I would love the 6102SPUL 1-3kg Anarchy to chase bream out of my kayak. 🎣🤙
Awesome review! Anarchy I’d go the 6102spUL for some estuary fishing Jewel I’d go either the 4-8 kg or 5-10 kg 2 piece rod for port Phillip bay snapper fishing which ever you’d recommend
The 6102SPUL looks like a great recommendation and for the jewel I would choose a heavier model with the 5-10kg to chase kingfish when they come down to tassie this summer great work as always Byron really good vid👍
Great video, glad to of discovered you having recently gotten back into fishing and loving more then I ever have. If i was to choose one of either, the 6102SPUL or 7025PL
@@ByronTeaHill something I was introduced to by my grandfather ( god rest his soul) , many many years ago, and whenever I have a rod in my hand I always have memories of him and feel close
Hi Byron Awesome review again I would love the 782ULF for my finesse bream estuary fishing. The extra length will help a lot since I am land based for flicking really light plastics. Lovin the reviews and also could you do one on your favourite knots please. Cheers
Appreciate the honest reviews Byron. I am currently fishing with a busted Daiwa Aird 4-8kg rod (replaced the snapped end but it's lost a lot of sensitivity). Would LOVE to win the 702SPMH 2pc 4-8kg Spin Anarchy or the similar in Jewel. Mostly user for flicking lures out of my 3.8m tinny in estuaries. Keep up the solid content :)
Hi mate I actually wanted to put down for a surf rod in the Jewel, so 11’ 2pc but of what is actually there Jewel 7’9” 2pc 4-8kg spin. In the Anarchy, of which I saw a review in Fishing World Mag. Very positive. Anyhow for the Anarchy 6’8” split rear grip 2-5 kg spin.thanks
Super helpful video Byron, recently snapped my flathead rod into pieces, so I am in the market for a new flathead stick,🎣, I would opt for the 682SPLM in the Anarchy and the 6102SP in the Jewel. Keep up the great work legend💪 Cheers mate.👍🤙
for jewel i would go for 21JL742SPSW. seems really good for greek waters. for anarchy , 21AN762SPH seems like a sweet choice! thanks again for the great video and giveaway byron
Once again a great informative video and review In the 21 jewel I’d like to try the 3-7k baitcast as I’m heading to far north Qld and it would be a good tropical casting outfit In the 21 anarchy I’d like to try the 3-6kg baitcast for the same reasons a light medium outfit for northern Queensland estuaries Thankyou
Would definitely get the 662BCM anarchy to start to target jacks as summer starts to heat up, and I would also get the 792LC Jewel to be able to target tailor and small GT and jewies off the rocks. Already have some estuary rods, so those would allow me to chase a wider variety of fish and have some more fun. Good job Shimano for replacing the rod for you, keen to see those new bait junkies as well ;)
apart from the giveaway, these videos have been such learning experience for me. Anywho, anarchy 902sp beach slugger looks interesting and would suit my current arsenal ahaha, I'd also like to try the 7'10'' bait casting rod from jewel range too.
The anarchy range looks good, apart from the snapped rod first case of course :) I would choose a 6102SPUL as this looks like a good light rod for bream
Great review mate, would love a crack at the trout down here in tassie with the anarchy 6’10” 1-3kg spin rod. Would be a great addition to the collection 👌🏻

Great review again. Love the honesty. I’m super fussy with my reel seats and grips, so I don’t think either would suit me. Don’t put me in for the prizes, just commenting for the channel.

Anarchy 702SPMH
Jewel 1-7g 7’0” 2pc 1-4kg spin

Another great video once again Byron.id really like the 682splm 2-5kg in the anarchy, and the 6’10 2pc 2-5kg in the jewel for the estuary work I do.👍🎣🐟
The Anarchy 21AN782ULF looks like a nice ultra light flats rod - 7’8” and 1 - 4 kg pelting 1 - 5 g lures sounds versatile.

cool, what is the question Harrison?

Love your content, thanks for putting up so many competitions. Just dropped in to say hello and keep up the good work with your vids. Ive particularly enjoyed the Lure Challenge series as it's helped me refine some techniques, like with the cranka crab. Cheers!
Another good review, hopefully a Nasci video is next 👏🏽 I’d go with the way the 1-3kg jewel 1 piece and the 61025SPUL I love my finesse fishing 🔥
Nasci is a couple away. soon.. very soon
I’d go the 58JOH In the Anarchy series and the 10-40g 7’4” 2piece in the Jewel range. Just for a heavier set up and something different to most of the set ups I have.

Saw the new TD black MQ reel to. Can't wait for the video of this reel. 🤗
did you now, lol. That is scheduled for Xmas week from memory - someones going to get an Xmas Present
@@ByronTeaHill
It's the month of giving. Nice. Good luck to all joining the give away. If you are doing a give away of this reel. 🤗
@@ByronTeaHill
Saw it at your video. Not at a shop. On this video Byron. You are using it right?
I actually have 3 jewels although they aren't the most expensive in my arsenal they always get a run... 7'6" 5-12kg anarchy would be perfect for my 5000 and for the jewel 7'2" 2-4kg would be just perfect all round flatty, jewie, snapper rod... keep up the awesome videos 👍👍
Thanks Shaun
I think the Anarchy would best for me brother. Keep the videos coming brother!
Great
@@ByronTeaHill By the way please choose me. My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told her a new reel. The rod would pair perfectly.👍
Great videos Byron, me being a new angler, your videos are just perfect. I would love to try Shimano's Anarchy 702SPL.
Awesome dude! Entered and thanks for sharing!!!
Jewel 2pc 7' 1-4kg
or
Anarchy 2pc 6'10" 1-3kg
Keep up the great content. The comments show that there are plenty of anglers out there who are willing to listen and learn from your advice. Watching people catch great fish on UA-cam is fun, but understanding how they did it is way more valuable.
Mate appreciate you taking the time to write that. Means a lot. Good luck in the giveaway hopefully your father in law ends up with the win.
Nice Review, for what its worth ill have a crack a lack at the 21 Anarchy 61025PUL & Shimano Jewel JL702SPUL..Would fit well in my Yak .On Sandflats mostly id use them.
In. thanks Simon for getting involved
Entered buddy!
Another great and informative video. I’ve been thinking about upgrading my 10+ year old jewel and upgrading to a more modern setup. I would go for the same rods you reviewed 1-4kg Jewel or a 1-3kg Anarchy.
Been eyeing off the jewel 1-4 but I would love the 902sp anarchy for throwing slugs off the beach for salmon
Solid!
In! Thanks for getting involved Richard, really appreciate you sharing your thoughts
You're in!
Informative video as always!
For the Anarchy, I would go with the 6102SPUL (1-3kg) Spin.
For the Jewel, the 7'2" (1-3kg) Spin.
Would use both for general fishing in estuaries and sand banks
Entered DC3 - nice work mate
If I was just getting into lure fishing, the Anarchy 702SPL looks to be a great place to start. I’m guessing SPL stands for Soft Plastic Light??? Not knowing the rod application is a good point.
Nope, SP = Spinning buddy, confusing right.
For the anarchy I'd go for the 702spl and the jewel I'd go for the 7foot 1-4kg both for thrown plastics for bream
Entered Josh. Cheers dude
Hey mate, nice review. Shame about the first cast snapage but good news they followed up straight away. I would love the 6102SPUL 1-3kg Anarchy to chase bream out of my kayak. 🎣🤙
100% mate, great service 100% - Entered Legend
Awesome review!
Anarchy I’d go the 6102spUL for some estuary fishing
Jewel I’d go either the 4-8 kg or 5-10 kg 2 piece rod for port Phillip bay snapper fishing which ever you’d recommend
Entered Curtis
The 6102SPUL looks like a great recommendation and for the jewel I would choose a heavier model with the 5-10kg to chase kingfish when they come down to tassie this summer great work as always Byron really good vid👍
Good choice!
Thanks for another great review mate. Would probably go the anarchy 682splm as a bit of an all rounder. Cheers mate 🤙
My pleasure Mr Dawson!
Hey byron, I'd go the Anarchy 6102spm or the Jewel 7'2" 4-8kg. Something a bit heavier than I have now. Cheers for the videos mate.
Nice Rex, Thanks for getting involved
Great video, glad to of discovered you having recently gotten back into fishing and loving more then I ever have.
If i was to choose one of either, the 6102SPUL or 7025PL
Dude! that means a lot to me Aaron! awesome
@@ByronTeaHill something I was introduced to by my grandfather ( god rest his soul) , many many years ago, and whenever I have a rod in my hand I always have memories of him and feel close
Always good to get a non biased review :-) I'd have a crack at the 21AN6102SPUL as it looks to suit my needs.
In.. thanks buddy
Hi Byron
Awesome review again I would love the 782ULF for my finesse bream estuary fishing. The extra length will help a lot since I am land based for flicking really light plastics. Lovin the reviews and also could you do one on your favourite knots please.
Cheers
You're in! Thanks Wayne for the comment mate
My pleasure George. Oh no! I know whats it like to fish with a busted rod. Entered mate!
My pleasure Justin! Thanks for getting involved mate
For the anarchy I like the look of the 1-3 kg 6 10 model that you used and for the jewel I'm interested in the 3-7kg 6'4 baitcast rod
Nice Beau, Entered mate
Awesome video mate!
AN6102SPUL
JL701SPUL
Entered and thanks Harley
Super helpful video Byron, recently snapped my flathead rod into pieces, so I am in the market for a new flathead stick,🎣, I would opt for the 682SPLM in the Anarchy and the 6102SP in the Jewel. Keep up the great work legend💪 Cheers mate.👍🤙
Glad it was helpful!
for jewel i would go for 21JL742SPSW. seems really good for greek waters. for anarchy , 21AN762SPH seems like a sweet choice! thanks again for the great video and giveaway byron
Thanks legend. Entered here also ;)
Once again a great informative video and review
In the 21 jewel I’d like to try the 3-7k baitcast as I’m heading to far north Qld and it would be a good tropical casting outfit
In the 21 anarchy I’d like to try the 3-6kg baitcast for the same reasons a light medium outfit for northern Queensland estuaries
Thankyou
Good choice!
Good job Shimano for replacing the rod for you, keen to see those new bait junkies as well ;)
100% awesome they did hey Jared. Would have been scratching my head if there was no such thing as warranty
Awesome video I would love to give the anarchy a go a good light rod for bream
1000% dude
apart from the giveaway, these videos have been such learning experience for me. Anywho, anarchy 902sp beach slugger looks interesting and would suit my current arsenal ahaha, I'd also like to try the 7'10'' bait casting rod from jewel range too.
Entered mate, good luck!
This rod looks like the storm ship trooper. Nice 👍 looking forward to your next fishing videos
lol, it does a little doesn't it
@@ByronTeaHill
Yes. 😉 Jewel ML i like
I gotta say, those anarchy rods look good... The 702SPL would fill the hole in the quiver quite nicely!
They do look good don't they
The anarchy range looks good, apart from the snapped rod first case of course :) I would choose a 6102SPUL as this looks like a good light rod for bream
Great review mate, would love a crack at the trout down here in tassie with the anarchy 6’10” 1-3kg spin rod. Would be a great addition to the collection 👌🏻
You're in!
Thanks legend
For the anarchy I’d love a 702 SPL. Would be great for chasing my bream and perch in the estuaries. For the jewel I’d like. 7” 2pc 1-4 kg
Entered! Thanks Joel
