Totally worth it! I went down that same road with St. Croix. First $100 on a bassX, then a $140 Premier, then $220 on an avidX and I knew I was never going back. Recently I got a $300 Legend Tournament Bass finesse rod and yes, it does what that bassX can do, but SO MUCH BETTER!
This is how I felt when I got my M Pflueger President XT combo recently. Sportsmans Warehouse online had them on sale for 104, usually a 199 combo. I enjoy your channel so much that I have a Lews Laser UL combo, a UL rod for a Pflueger 20 President, and a trout magnet kit out for delivery today.
Oh yeah, a really nice bass there ! Don't let the naysayers bring you down. The rod may have been expensive, but when you think about it, fishing is your income stream. All craftsmen I know make their living with good tools. Hopefully it will give you many years of good service in your craft. Always love the WORD. I also like the shirt with the BLUE lettering ! LOL ! Please be careful ! Randy B.
I just recently bought two rod/reel set ups and put 350$ on my medium fast and 200$ on my heavy (frog lures on lily pads) and I was scared that I would regret it but honestly it makes enough of a difference with comfort and having that extra feel that it was worth it to me. I used an older rod I’ve had for a few years after using my new ones for literally only two weeks and it was unreal how much more sloppy those other combos were. To me, that makes a difference while trying to catch fish
I fish a lot. Every time I have bought hi dollar reels the bail spring always breaks. So don't speak too soon. Penn spinning reels I will never buy again cause of the bail spring failing at the worst times.Calcuta level winds are great. but they always break somewhere.Calcutas are expensive!! But never again will I buy one. Ive got a lot of middle priced reels. Some 20yrs old and no failure ever.Gave my son an Optix reel. $40 dollar combo. Rod is great.Reel is great. Tight anti revers and smooth drag. Probably a few thousand cast and no failure with many fish in the boat. I hope your new combo last forever. But I swear some top dollar reels are meant to fail, just so you have to take it to the repair man. But like me Im sure you repair your own. Good luck and this is a great video. Thank you as I hit the subscribe button.
I have fished water with a mud line like that before many times in Oklahoma. I find that if I throw a spinner bait into the muddy water and bring in back to the clear water, there are some fish in the clear just waiting for bait fish to try to escape the muddy water. Usually pretty effective. Great video.
Im also in Oklahoma, and do this exact thing! Ive found dragging a whopper plopper across that line is also deadly. There is a creek in the Tulsa area that will do that regularly after a good rain.

Just watching this video 5 months after it was released and couldn't agree more with your comment about the Nasci being the best 100 dollar spinning reel out there. I got a 2500HG and mated it to a St. Croix Premier 7' Med.Hvy. spinning rod this past fall and it's so smooth and solid feeling for 100 bucks. @@CreekFishingAdventures awesome its a great color you wont regret it ! Come down too ocmulgee so we can do a float for some shoal bass 🤣 I’ve got some nice fish out of there recently!
So is anyone else having issues with these rods breaking??? I’m on my third one that just broke on me. The first one broke at the tip at that time my boy was working at BP so took it back. The second time I just got it back from warranty exchange two months ago or less. Fished with it around 3 times and I baby the damn thing. It broke a quarter of the way from the top while casting. This last time it broke in half while casting. All I use it for is throwing dead shrimp on a 1/16 jig head. It’s the 7’ MH so it should be more than enough rod for that. They travel with rod warrior neoprene covers and neoprene reel covers. All rods ride up in the cab of my truck so no slapping around in bed of truck. I have custom rods by fish stix, J&H and H&H that have never broke once. They treated great as well however not babied like this Zodias. I bought it for the fact that it looked great paired with the vanford. Which by the way is basically a brand new reel cause it spends more time sitting on the sidelines. This is a sad rod!!!
#3👍🏻🎣👀 That's more than a little rain, bro. Btw, I just checked stock on the Shimano Zodias at TackleWarehouse only to find that a 6'9" does not get offered (by them?) in Medium Fast. They have it in Medium and Medium Lt.
bog ole bass - don't be afraid to cast out into the big current - get an anchor and fish painter cause both will help out the cause which is just to have fun and catch fish
I use a Shakespear reel, 6ft rod(Shakespeare) and 8 to 10lb line(braid does help the cast a little I've noticed). But I can't cast further than maybe 10ft in front of me. Do I need to buy a different reel and rode set up to cast far out like you professionals lol? I've never looked into the pros/cons of upgrading these. 👉🏾Budget fisher but realizing I have to spend some money occasionally 👈🏾... help anyone?
Dude you are hard cast fishermen. Pouring down rain and you are out there in it. Love ya video's keep them coming. And remember stay out of my Mud hole. HAHAHA I know shut up right.
How does this rod cast. Do you feel the lure and line rating is accurate. I am in between the 6’9” med zodias 7’ med zodias and 6’10” or expride b 6’10” Med/L and expride 7’ med.

I got a 2500HG and mated it to a St. Croix Premier 7' Med.Hvy. spinning rod this past fall and it's so smooth and solid feeling for 100 bucks. I couldn't imagine for the price point how anyone could top it.
Is that the plfeuger president xt
That is a good looking rod John, God bless!
Yessirr live right by there
should be easy to tell how much he weighs it has scales on its sides
((rim shot))
John, still use the Abu Garcia Veritas? I just got a PLX 6'9" medium light fast. Haven't used it yet tho.
not that much
Well, I do not recommend trying the Xpride then, lol. I love my medium power for my jerkbaits. Light and very sensitive! Nice purchase.
I love that you rep UK in Tennessee😂 Go cats!
Do you know if the 5-15g version is fast action or not?
The poison adrena is shimanos most expensive. I prefer StCroix rods
Woooooooooooo weeeeeeeeeeee what a bass Jon!!!!!
Where are these places you be fishing at
What size did you get?
You should try the morning dawn color for yum dinger it always saves the day 👍🏻
hey, i just put that color in my bag for fishing tomorrow
@@CreekFishingAdventures awesome its a great color you wont regret it ! Come down too ocmulgee so we can do a float for some shoal bass 🤣 I’ve got some nice fish out of there recently!
what hooks are you using ?
How do you like that Pflueger President XT reel? I got one, but don't have a rod for it yet.
Love all 3 of mine. Work horses if you maintain them, every now and then (read: not routinely).
it is a good reel
No way that’s a 5 lb fish. 2.7 to 3.0 maybe.
why do you say that, i was the one holding it so i trust myself
Lol, I'd agree. 3.5 at best. Take a 20 inches to hit 5 pounds.
All seven of my rods together add up to that one. Thats a nice one though.
Where are these creeks?⚠️
#3👍🏻🎣👀
That's more than a little rain, bro.
Btw, I just checked stock on the Shimano Zodias at TackleWarehouse only to find that a 6'9" does not get offered (by them?) in Medium Fast. They have it in Medium and Medium Lt.
It's medium power, fast action. It'll say 6'9" medium then taper will be fast. That's how it's listed.
bog ole bass - don't be afraid to cast out into the big current - get an anchor and fish painter cause both will help out the cause which is just to have fun and catch fish
Very nice Bass 🎣 😀
You probably have a measuring app in your phone at least you can get the length
Dude you are hard cast fishermen. Pouring down rain and you are out there in it. Love ya video's keep them coming. And remember stay out of my Mud hole. HAHAHA I know shut up right.
Great video.
A shimano stradic ci4 or vangard reel would match that rod
How does this rod cast. Do you feel the lure and line rating is accurate. I am in between the 6’9” med zodias 7’ med zodias and 6’10” or expride b 6’10” Med/L and expride 7’ med.
i really love this rod, use it all the time
What kind of yum dinger is that?
bubblegum yellow swirl
great job bro👏👏
Expensive rod and reels are always worth it if you can afford them.
Don't feel guilty about your fancy rod and reel. Been there, done that and it was usually worth it.
