I've just found your channel the other day and have been literally been glued to all of your absolutely fascinating and intriguing video's. Every single one is so brilliantly made and are on such interesting topics. I was shocked to find you haven't got more subscribers than you have from watching them; I honestly expected well over a million. I'm sure there are so many people like me who are yet to find you and will be glad when they do, you're brilliant.
    Keep it up.

Did you know that the Microsoft Hololens can process terabytes of data /sec on the fly? Learn this and more in my latest video: ua-cam.com/video/NwY-6sQDYnk/v-deo.html
It combines all of the in-depth, recent information about the Hololens to give us a full picture. Feel free to share if you learned something new.

Chris Loyen I really don't think my statement was casual nor non sequitur. I'm not offended either . But I really do think that someone at the leading edge of computing has developed something that can pass the Turing test. It may be a while until it's in desk top size though.

That was by far the most comprehensive, most professional and most interesting technical presentation I've ever seen and I'm 70 with 50 years in tech.
Something you might want to follow up with is an elaboration of the uses this tech can have in the enterprise environment. It is pretty clear from the small FOV that it will focus on utility, not entertainment. Yet.

It's crazy how, even though I'm 19 years old and grew up with ever changing technology, I can't believe we are in living in this era of such technological advances. Nowadays, technology "innovation" is barely changing the form factor of what we currently have.
The Microsoft Hololens is a game-changer. Most probably it will be expensive as hell, but Microsoft is setting up the path for true innovation.

The biggest questions to me for a product like this are:
1: Who is the target demographic? Who want's AR? Who is willing to put on a plastic visor for that?
2: As it's wearable tech, will people not want to customize it? Isn't it as soon as you wear it, a piece of fashion?

I love the idea of hololens so much!!
In the near future , to see and interact
with holograms , we do not need anything.
Or maybe we could 3d print an object instantly. That is just my idea. In the future I
will make a holographic projector which is similar to hololens and my ideas. A few months ago I thought of a name project holo.
A few days later I was introduced with hololens! Since the name and the abilities
of project holo and hololens are so similar,
I decided to change the name.I need suggestions for names. So please help me!
    Anyways,nice video!Big thumbs up!!!

I fell in love with the Hololens when I first saw it... and it is better than all PC's.
Just being a little much to interested in it's design and capability I looked further into the Augmented world and I came across another Augmented design, that was better than the Hololens in every way bar one.
The Augmented computer that I found is named the Meta2
Now the Meta2 has got better graphics, it has top notch Dolby speakers and the images know where everyday objects are, yet you can see everyday life and have the new way of passing things through E-mail. The new way is by passing by hand the object you wish in to another persons life no matter where they are in the world (from hand to hand)
Now the down side of this amazing new piece of technology is you must have it connected to power at all times.... unlike the Hololens,, what can be without a source of power for up to three hours before needed another charge...
Yet another up for the Meta2 is that you can carry round a power pack that can connect to the Meta2 and last up to 7 hours without needing to be recharged....
So for an extra 4 hour use of a brilliant design would you be put off from carrying a small backpack? I know that I wouldn't mind

Truth is: Headgear of this bulky-ness will never become mainstream for next few decades as a home consumer device.
Especially if it only leads to doing the same thing in more complicated or fancier looking ways.
Actual holograms in your living on the other hand will be in prpbly in every household once they are ready.
This is maybe usefull for certain types of work fields but not for you and me, especially not for pure entertainment.

8:53 well, i don't think you should have exactly compared the hololens to the google glass. This is much more bulky and doesn't seem like something anyone would use all day, such as taking a walk outside. The glass on the other hand is much more light in comparison and isn't really meant for advanced holograms and fully interactive world.
Its like comparing a giant 18" desktop replacement and a smaller 14" laptop. Sure, you could carry both, but do u=you really need all that power to just take notes on on such a behemoth? You can't exactly do heavy video editing and rendering on a 14" laptop either. They both have their own uses.

Every pixel of every active screen ever produced, makes billions of photons per second.
So what do you want to tell us there ?

Another drawback is that you can't naturally focus and de-focus on virtual content. For those who are waiting for a true virtual retinal display experience, the big name in the game is Magic Leap.
