Seriously, I learn almost more from here than anywhere on the techniques that I’ve not used that much and the ones that I use all the time. Good Job Geoff and The Hookup Tackle, looks like I’ve got some more stuff to add to the list...
Geoffrey, I had been thinking of dusting off my spy baits which have been in my day bag, after your video I did this morning nailed a fish in only a handful of cast! Did you mention in the video how they shimmy on the sink? I don’t recall. Thanks for another great video!
Thanks for the tips Jeffrey the king I didn't know they made a 100 that's going to be my next one the 72 is money on deeper water spotted Bass I've also caught Bass on the 80 burning it near the surface and the 72 also works good for trout in the river I thought for sure you'd be anti-spybaiter👍
I don't even speak Japanese but it's got the Asian tongue and intonation - Damn Asian languages. Should hear my mother say sugar... she spelled surgar.. 🇯🇵 🇨🇳 🇰🇷
Do I want to fish the 62 & 72 Alpha’s like a crankbaits speed as you spoke of in the video? I’m still trying to figure out how to get bites with the alphas that I have
excellent video. Personally i use my St-croix legend tournament ''small crank'' baitcast (7' 2'' medium / moderate) is excellent for 80 g-fix / alpha 72. its wheepy. didn't try the 90 yet. i will.
Great video Jeff, it's a technique that I really think should work for the bodies of water I fish, which are crystal clear deep water smallmouth lakes, but for whatever reason I just can't get fish to trigger on a spy bait. I've changed colors. I've chain sizes and I think in 3 years I've had one bite on a spy bait. But I will say that one bite was so electric that it keeps me coming back and trying this technique.
Nice vid! I love spybaiting but IMO Megabass doesn't have a rod that throws spybaits well. Cheap routez Daiwa Tatula 76mmls, best rod Daiwa Steez AGS 76mmls can handle allspybaits except the 100. But it's a niche technique, no need to dedicate a rod to it. I threw it just fine on my Addermine for the longest time.
No wonder I struggle w this lure!! I thought w all the noise and movement it would be better in stained water!! Thanks for this vid!! I have several of the duo’s but don’t go to them much bc I hadn’t had much success! Thanks bro
Ok I got it Jeffery the king for serious information, orion ben for funny info and staff abuse, and special mom appearance for some good old sun shine,by the way good job on new wedsite
It's a deadly technique and I've had double digit days where guys around me are struggling to get a bite. It takes a while to get dialed in and confident with it. I throw 10lb braid to 6 or 8lb test. I typically use about a 7 foot leader - just short enough so the connection knot is outside of the spool. I plan to try it with straight fluoro this year to see if that makes any difference. I've done fine in 3-5 foot vis but the more opaque or flashy baits seem to work better in those scenarios versus the ghosty colors. I'll work in the twitch this year and see if it gets more bites, nice vid Geoff!
I have not been there yet. It’s been a dream of mine to go for a while now. Trying to learn some of the language before I go over there so I can enjoy the experience of being there more
@@thehookuptackle_usa I stand corrected. I figured that you have been there before.. I think Ben said that he has fished Biwa. I've been there 4 or 5 times and sad to say that i have never fish Biwa. Dude, it's a Blast.. You will love every minute of it! I dated a woman there thats why the many trips back and fourth.... Get on a plane.. when it calms down.
@@thehookuptackle_usa You'll love it pal, if the fishes can't get enough of the spybait they'll want it even more. Too bad that they don't make bladed trebels as small as #12. The Duo Tetra Works Perakko is the smallest spybait they have and it works like a charm.
@@thehookuptackle_usa Currently, my favourite spybaits are the Spinbait 80 Shallow at 6.7g, the Spinbait 62 Alpha at 10.9g and the Tetra Works Perakko at 4.6g. I fish them all on a BFS setup, and it's a blast to use!
Its geoffs japanese girlfriend teaching him
🤣🤣🤣 my virtual Japanese girlfriend
That anome pillow 😆jk
Trying it central Florida Sept Oct. Looks like a sneaky winner

That’s awesome man! Glad we can provide any type of teaching that we can when we make these videos!
You didn't mention the true finesse spinbaits, the Realis 60, and Tetra works Perakko??
Probably the best Spybaiting video I’ve ever seen ! Thank you !
Top explained,….. Regards from Germany 😊
I'll be spybaiting this winter for first time. Wish me luck!

Lol I actually have the spin bait in Hokusai 25, ain’t gonna be throwing that one! 😅
You're probably the few this has that color cause TW had them on sale

I’ve caught trout on the 80 before and that stuff is fun! I haven’t tried burning the bait yet, I can definitely see it getting smashed though!
Yo his Japanese sounds on point
We out here trying my dude!

Explained very well. Thanks. Found a 72 and a GFix but my local lake is algae-scum capital of California.

which rod would you go with for spybaits, the Shimano zodias 7ft medium light or the 7ft 6in medium?
It's cool Geoff, I could loose a couple inches off my rod and still be average... lol jk jk
Haven't even seen the video yet and I like it! :)
Thanks for the love Ken! Appreciate it!
Crazy amount of info in this video. Job well done.
What is the color of the spinbait 80 in the video?
You need to figure out how to list your products on Amazon. Then I can buy more, and my wife won’t know I’m buying fishing baits.
Haha we will get right on disguising the links as Amazon links 🤣
Ok I got it Jeffery the king for serious information, orion ben for funny info and staff abuse, and special mom appearance for some good old sun shine,by the way good job on new wedsite
Thanks for watching the videos man! 🙏
I need that jacket! Where is it from?
Know I know why Jeffery is the king, this Channel just keeps getting better and better, please have mom make another appearance
Thank you! Trying to take over this UA-cam fishing world!
Cool background info of bait
Great info, thanks for posting 👍
Best spybait video I've seen!

Haha I didn’t either 🤣
@@thehookuptackle_usa haha good stuff tho

Crazy bass fisher strikes again well done thumbs up fish on
Thanks for watching Mike! 🙏
Great job Jeffery. You sold me on the technique. 👍
Thanks man for watching! Once you get it dialed, you’ll fall in love with it!
I am impressed! I wish I could understand Japanese
Haha it’s a very slow process but I’m getting somewhere with it haha
Jerkbait rod for the 100’s and 72’s?

You’re setup seems great dude! Don’t change what ain’t broke! The twitch is by far the best thing i have learned to do with this bait.
You could try T shotting instead of going all floro
@@glenndaugherity6187 That's what I'll try first Glenn, basically same as straight fluoro
Thanks Geoff, good tip about the little twitch 🍺
That little twitch is deadly dude! Thanks for watching!
I catch so many giant bluegills on the spinbait.
Haha same here! Some of my biggest bluegill have come on the spybait!
Geoff soundin' like the Don of Osaka
🤣🤣 I like the sound of that!
Hella Video Bud! 👍

Those look like they’d be great for smallies.
They smash smallies dude!
I’ve had them almost pull the rod out of my hands when throwing this bait ! Literally
I like to add a bladed treble to the back end, gives that extra flash to it.
