37:00 This moment imo shows perfectly what makes Clem such a good player: He isn't on top of his army for like 2 seconds and immediatly everything crumbles. Which in turn means he's on top of his army at every other point in every other game. This playstyle is so incredibly fragile. Also, big Kudos to Maxpax, out here showing that you can in fact win with protoss by playing a "fair game"

Maxpax deflected all harrasment and did insane damage. denying stim, the reactor and the techlab. early game
Hardcountering the tech choice: banshee.
Terran doesnt care at all. Terran can just make 5 tanks and be safe versus anything protoss can throw at it untill tempest are out or terran is making mistakes by being out of position. reaching max supply because he isnt aggresive, no other skill required.
protoss on the other side, lose 1 pylon thats attached to twilight, gateways, robo building/researching = autoloss.
Cuz without tech timings and a hardcountered tech choice. protoss is severely underpowered. And literally cannot play the game.
also second game maxpax builds early dts and does insane damage. "fair game" JuSt GaMbLe DT. JUST CHEESEEEE
3rd game... permanently denies gold base that terran has, because he didnt position tanks in proper position. Gets insane value and skyrockets in resources and snowballs cuz of map design. Terran doesnt even build ghost vs templar. SUCH A FAIR GAME!

@@Eraz0rZ I'm in fact a protoss player and I'm very aware of the strategic part that goes on in these games. I just wanted to point out the small slipup and the big impact it had because that usually never happens.

Clem is just a better player. MaxPax donated like dozens of Disruptors. He should've built Immortals instead. Clem is just faster than him.

This is sick how terran are op.
First game - early game dominance, terran turtle, go ghost/viking and just roll.
Second game - in early (28:45) basically one tank denies everything - whole push, denying of tech, scv harras. One tank. Even if scv harras work guess what - mules :D
Third game still watching but whenever I see terran its like deja vu - turtle and roll. As long as you direct DPS instead of click and forget you just win.
The fact that MaxPax couldn't break Clem in game 1 is ridiculous.
I think he could have..I think MaxPax was pulling back a lot of the times when he didn’t need to. Resulting in many of his units being free kills.
He did the same as in the previous match a few months ago. He pulls back when in fact he should go in. As in match 1.
MaxPax is just slower than Clem.
You can see how he donated plenty of Disruptors to Clem, and Clem haven't done anything like that a single time.
Max also missed number of Disruptor shots that should have never been a miss.
MaxPax is an amazing player and never does such "mistake" in games with other players. He simply couldn't control his army as fast as Clem did.
Winter, you've got to stop playing the first couple seconds of "Lighting of the Beacons" and then cutting it off, it's a crime against humanity to not let that song play out.

Do Protoss just not use storm anymore because it's too easy to counter and throw away expensive units? I see all these clumps of Vikings that literally counter every protoss air unit and their most reliable ground splash unit and just think damn, theres gotta be a better way than stalkers.
At high levels the ghosts make ht expensive worse zealots. Atleast when they can get emp

@@flyselbyhigh No, my point was that MaxPax did everything right and it was still kind of close. Taking full map control, putting pressure at all times, containing, harassing, and then there are still moments where a big stimmed bio ball comes out with a vengeance and almost wins the game right there.

It's 2024 and psi-storm still damages own units, and the only way for zealots to do damage is to charge and get melted by MM kitting them plus storm...

It looks like storms are better to use than disruptors.
Not vs terran as a single ghost can make multiple ht useless. Sure disruptors can be useless but more often than not allow you to retreat but hy are just 150 gas wasted
It looks to me that nowdays in these top rank games (where protoss is actually winning) storms get stuff done and disruptors don't.

Almost every ESL weekly final is MaxPax vs Clem and they are like 50/50.
Its just casters normally don't cast games where Protoss wins because they like gaslighting people since it brings more views and comments.

Once again, Protoss has zero effective splash damage. Being able to target down a disruptor to cancel its shot is one of the most broken things in the game. Clem didn't even need to build ghosts and strip half the entire Protoss army's hp with a single emp. He did at the end seemingly out of boredom.
Balance folks, you need to fix Protoss splash damage! Otherwise Protoss has to all-in. Simple fixes: make Colossi shorter. Making anti air only units able to target them with the current air power balance is broken. And let novas detonate after a disruptor is targeted down, even if the nova cannot be controlled after the disruptor is dead. These are simple fixes that do not change costs or stats, but simply make sense.
Just the whole second game makes me feel very weird. Wtf is protoss? 1st game (and usually) protoss and terran fight on equal supply - protoss dies horribly. But when protoss is down half the enemy supply he fights very good. And then (SPOILER?) by the end of second game protoss just wins by just... catching some 20 supply out of position? Really? In big fights like in the first game it doesnt look even close, it's not like 20 supply would make a difference....

Maxpax played almost perfect while Clem made many large mistakes and yet Maxpax almost lost multiple times. From a delayed ghost academy to delayed 2/2.
@@Wwillswords Keep telling yourself that while Protoss A moves and kills everything at top level play without even using storm. Then when they do use storm, they can beat an army that is 50% larger.
@jebediah4780 did we watch the same games? There were no A-move wins for either side. When you have the counter to everything protoss has and don't use it, that's a large error. When you see your opponent picking off your reinforcements and heading toward your tanks, you don't abandon them with your bio. You keep the bio close. How is it that Clem lost his whole army for mediocre damage, and you still claim protoss is a op A-move race that can win with half the supply?
