- Another rare performance with Jerry Hey and Chuck Findley live on horns. Larry Williams is on sax. I don't recognize the trombone player. Most likely is Bill Reichenbach. We're in this love together is followed by Breakin' away
We love the legendary horn players--Jerry Hey, Chuck Findley, Larry Williams and Bill Reichenbach! They all got the props!

Along with the Los Angeles session authority, it gets impossible to miss. Jarreau in its prime, together with Alex Acuna, George Canning, Jay Graydon, Lenny Castro, Jerry Hey, Bill Reichenbach, Larry Williams, Tom Canning, Richard Page, Carmen Twillie and Steve George, it's just too much to handle. In live TV, with the caliber of these players, how the world changed. I just wanna know what show was this. It's looking from 1981 or 82.
The show was “Friday’s”, thinking it was 1982. But yeah wow, these guys were cream of the crop and Al was in top form.
@@borderking59 Yeah, now I know. Some say that some Fridays skits were even funnier than SNL.
@@IronMan-tk8uc oh yeah, I agree. I thought the show was much better and the musical guests were super!
Man! This is awesome. If they had Steve Lukather in the first song and Jeff Porcaro in the second, I’d watch this video over and over and over and over……lol
And GEORGE HAWKINS on bass!!!!!
Wow, what a Killer lineup of musicians!. And some of best writing ever....
The joy and feel you bring to us all.....Mr.Jarreau.........We Thank You, We Thank Your Soul.....peace to all.
Ther will never be another. The King 👑 is dead. Long live the King ❤❤❤
Queste esecuzioni risvegliano in me sempre lo stesso entusiasmo e ammirazione di quando le ascoltavo 40 anni fa.
Parabéns na Daniele por apreciar rstey cantor cantando esta música maravilhosa.
The best jazz singer ever ..!
Can't get enough of the ole' west coast sound of the late seventies and eighties. It's like a rare bird, now.
This is very cool and for those who care that's Richard Page and Steve George (Mr. Mister, PAGES) singing back up. Love It!!
Go Al!!! The most timeless music on the planet!!!
I think that’s Chuck Finley on the trumpet with Jerry Hey. The horn arrangement is better than the albums version. The line up of musicians are pretty epic in this!!
Era un gran cantante como jugaba con su voz era extraordinaria me encanta escucharlo su música es un deleite escucharlo un grande mi querido Al Jarreu descanse en paz
My favorite Al Jarreau!
I wish I had had the opportunity to experience Al live. Such a beautiful performance. The goodness for UA-cam!
Look at the joy he chooses to express! Thank you for the example, Al.
Bravo, bravissimo, usa la voce come uno strumento musicale. Grazie anche a chi ha pubblicato il video.
Great performance Al and all players.
My friend if you have more stuff with Al Jarreau please post!!! Thank You!
Yes that would great ! Please
thank you for the music Mr. Al Jerrau
Bill Reichenbach is my hero!
This is the Al Jarreau that my ears fell in love with back in the early 80´s. Just love it, and it is very much like an old recording I used to have from Rockpalast with him and David Sanborn alternating and performing together as well. If anyone can post that I am eternally grateful.
and you've got Lenny Castro (Jeff Porcaro's percussion right-hand man) on additional percussion. good eye on Paich - the camera doesn't hit him enough to tell that it's him, but I believe you are correct.
this was great to watch.....took me back. Real musicians. Miss Al.
Jerry Hey and Chuck Findley live on horns. Larry Williams is on sax. I don't recognize the trombone player. Most likely is Bill Reichenbach
While the rockers living to be a thousand the finest that our culture. Had to offer are gone not many still left but Al is an angel and his music will forever be growned in our hearts just happy to have been able to absorb his music while he was here
Al Jarreau is fantastic!
Al's music innocent wonderfully uplifting a great talent
Al is my idol and one of my music favourites... since I've herad this performance for the first time, I wondered why he decided not to sing it in falsetto as in original... one of his rare bad decisions...
Alex Acuna on drums, Richard Page and Steve George on background vocals... can't make out the female BG vocalist though. I think it's Exile's bass player on bass.. I know he toured with Al back in the '80's.
Thanks for uploading…
i LOVE this song,, and Al., what should i say. your voice comes from above . and thats true!! cant believe it .
You can tell by the hairstyle, moustache and clothing of his musicians! Très 80's
Always ready to hear Al!!
Been listening to this since the mid 70's...It gets sweeter all the time!! It does!
the Bass player is George Hawkins.
What a wonderful song... listen to this song made us all feels that we're all in one love~
Al Jarreau forever !
Happy Birthday Al, thanks for all the good music
Carl
What a kind soul.
Live in London is one of my all-time favorite albums. I've looked for it on iTunes, but they don't have it.
The Great Alex Acuña (From PERU)on drums.

Breakin away!!
Oh my dam the live versions here sound so great!
The one and only AL JARREAU !!!!!!!!
simply brilliant! The best band Jarreau has ever had. Truly his golden age! Spotted Jay Graydon, Lenny Castro, Tom Canning. Is that Porcaro on drums?

Beau travail, un des plus grands chanteurs dans son genre
This song reminds me hanging out on Livernois and Michigan Avenues in Detroit,Mich. in the 1980's

JayGraydon!!!!
Best of the best
So awesome this performance, I love it!! May I ask which concert this is and if it's available on dvd/vhs? Thanks!
Memories!
Wonderful song with good team
Not Alex Acuna. Pretty sure it's Jeff Porcaro.
Jay Graydon in guitar ?
yes sir. yes sir.
I think so !
this is true class
Anybody have the SCTV version of Al singing this and Eugene Levy taking the sax ride as Sid Dithers !?! Hilalrious ! And Levy makes his ride seem so real. Thanx.
Classic !
And Larry Williams on sax
You get the sense in 'Breakin Away' that Al is irritated by the sound guys. But at any rate, what a great blast from the past.
I'm from the D too! What about "Boogie Down" by Al Jarreau! Remember how DRQ used to play that to death back in '83 when they were still R&B and tryin' to beat JLB?
That's Graydon on guitar. Check out his website. There's more video of him performing and others performing his songs.
WDRQ was my station back in the day!! Where are you from? I was Chadsey and eventually from Cooley High.
Thak You Maester!!!.
LUUUV IT!
Folks, listen to him and Brubeck on Take Five. It's available on this UA-cam!
Horns are making this so good ...
I'm from the westside of the D. On Littlefield near Pembroke btwn 6 and 7 mile roads. In fact I was a jock at WDTJ/WHTD (105.9 Jamz/Hot 102.7)
All right home team,nice neighborhood!!
Also great to see David Paich (Toto) and Jay Graydon!!!!!!!!!! What a band!
Settled:
Porcaro on We're in this Love Together;
Acuna on Breakin' Away
not Jeff on drums .... Alex!
Isn't the guitarist Mr Graydon himself?
oh yeah, my jazz band did the piece and I had a solo!!
La voix plus la musique
I always thought he said, "And like Barry on the mike, it gets sweeter all the time," meaning Barry White. Okay, so it's "berries on the vine...". LOL
kralj..
It's Lenny Castro on percussion and maybe the late Tony Thompson on drums.Just great!!!
Oh this slaps 🎉
Does anyone have the video Our Love from Al's Live in London - I had a chance to buy it and didn't, now I can't find it anywhere and I LOVE that version.
Jay Graydon ❤️
Is that paich keyboards and richard page backup
Al actually sings to his audience because thats what they want i think he is an overall
music person
