Where did all the wholesome music with a great feel, great message go? Al was one of the greats…
Agree!!! ❤
I concur
Al was born for music and singing
Smooth jazz in its finest. RIP Al J. Love old school music ❤
hahah this is love making music..
RIP AL we miss you dearly.
😊 I agree 1,000 percent Mary. I love his song "MORNING"!
Aqui do Brasil compartilho do seu pensamento
What a beautiful song and voice. 💜 Rest in peace Al.
Thank U Al for great music RIP
The pride of my hometown, Milwaukee. How lucky I was to see him at Summerfest in the early 80s.
Lester davis jr Damn that sucks he died. He never failed to make me smile and feel good while listening to his wonderful songs. A real class act on stage and a brilliant singer! Artists of that caliber don't exist anymore today. His soulful voice and the peace and joy he brought to many people through his heavenly gift will be missed for sure.
+displacedchzhead you are lucky he was a great singer that's. for sure
His music stood the taste of time . ❤❤❤
Forty years later and this song still resonates. One of the most memorable jazz inspired songs of all time.
Also his song " Mornin " is Great 👍
Um abraço meu brother 🍺🍺🗿🗿
Meu brother, você disse tudo 🍺🍺🗿🗿
May I have this dance?
Let us not forget the wonderful ensemble of musicians backing Al on this wonderful recording. They really made it happen.
Who is on drums? Steve Gadd?
The the band is the real heart of any song, but they never get the acknowledgement and accolades that they deserve. The 70’s singer/songwriters era, are you kidding me! There should have long been Grammy awards for the bands, especially with some of the outstanding solos on piano, horns and electric and acoustic guitars! I wish we could just hit rewind to those years....
@MyTEEsharp1 yeap, the drummer is indeed Steve Gadd
I always think musicians are underrated which is so wrong.
@@MyTEEsharp1 Correct. Steve Gadd.
Picked up my 13 year old daughter from school today and told her of this amazing man . How he started his working life in a job , and doing music on the side at night : he became more popular and music become his full time job . Told her how he said that you should follow your dreams and if you fail , pick yourself up for these moments make you strong . Keep trying always .
I came home and pulled out a record and played this beautiful mans music .
He was so passionate that he gave everything till he could give no more.
Eternally missed .
Thank you Mr Alwin Lopez Jarreau for sharing your gift of music .

Wonderful and heartfelt words...
This guy was the King of jazz vocals and still is... he can pick you up when you are down so low... RIP Al
God!!, no matter how much time has passed, his voice the melody and the passion impressed in his singing makes you believe on the possibility of a simpler and better world
Amen! 💞
God indeed. I sat mesmerized years back, during his Roof Garden tour. Outside, summers eve, table setting. Unforgettable RIP SIR🙏🏽❤️🎶
Yes, true words Omininc. I knew it when new lol It still is the Greatest for always as long I live 😊
U can tell he enjoy singing this my god his movements
TRUTH!!
This song is one of the many reasons the 80's was the best decade for music!
Yea....60's, 70's and 80's were the best times for music
I totally agree with u 👍
Not quite 60-80
Verdade
We need to bring music like this back, it's relaxing and it's just great music
Music like this lowers blood pressure and its relaxing to.
Sadly real R&B died long time ago

When was that?
Exactly, the cool air coming from the ocean at the beach with the family, ...
T Malone, I yearn for days like that!
This song takes me back to my childhood...oh how we take things for granted...such precious memories. ❤
It does for me as well. Music and artists such as this from the times of my youth also brings back such great memories. Such a great generation to grow up in.
Went to a wedding in 1982 and this was played at the reception. Still a great song. RIP Al Jarreau.
I was married in 1981 & this was our song. I lost my Husband so it's bittersweet now 💔
It Will Be Played At Mine 2
@@janice369you were married when I was born. That’s wild. Time flies for real!
No nudity, no vulgarity, just talent.
Yes, I felt it lacked something too.

Amazing FEEL GOOD music. Absolutely timeless!
Love this song..good for the soul
What a great time to be alive, in the 80’s in my 20’s , listening to Al Jarreau, hanging out with friends , riding in my new car , dressed to impress , dancing and romancing to beautiful songs like this! You haven’t lived until you attended an out door concert grooving to Al live drinking wine and champagne !
Still love listening to A Jarreau in 2021..... May his beautiful soul continue to Rest in peace.
Indeed so sad to know he's gone but his musical legacy will live forever.💖
🙏
🙏🙏🙏💞💞💞🇺🇸
Agreed , sweet music, Greetings from Prince Edward Island, Canada .
🙏🙏Bless you and much love ❤❤
Listen to this all-day.His voice
Soothes my soul
Best Blues and R&B artist
ever.
and he was remarkable in person. I only got to see him perform once, but he did an hour and forty-five minutes and it was happy heaven.
Hate to think that the world has lost so many greats like Al Jarreau. The same way I always like Nat King Cole, there is a smoothness to this man's voice that makes him one of the greatest male vocalists of all time.
So intense
Edwin Hawkins
Meu brother, você disse tudo, um abraço 🍺🍺🗿🗿
It amazes me how such greats as Al Jarreau's music can trigger memories from my youth and on to today. I'm grateful we still can enjoy such greats today and especially see my grandchildren find joy in the very same music. Timeless!
Al Jarreau just has that voice that makes you wanna be in an 80s nightclub after midnight
Great times with great music ♥️
Well said..
Wearing a linen jacket with rolled up sleeves!
Get me a ticket, I'm ready to go back.
they used to play this in grocery stores like 2012 i think
I saw and heard him in the 1970's!!
RIP Mr Jarreau.
Thanks for all the great music over the last 50 years.
The world may have lost its essence, but it didn't steal our memory, when listening to this beautiful song, we were able to fly in a beautiful blue sky.
Timeless… RIP to a legend who created such a soothing sound…in HIS own way!! Gotta love AJ😁🥰✌🏾
I'm so grateful to be brought up on such brilliance. This was the soundtrack to my youth. It made me a perfectionist, attuned to excellence and talent. I was raised all the way in South Africa and this touched our souls indefinitely.
This track will live for a million years....RIP AL JARREAU !!
Лёгкий, как ветер, свежий, как морской бриз. Спасибо, Ваши песни наполняют светом
This love song is Powerful & Golden!!! Al Jarreau is one of the best by his songs that traces our hearts to be fill in LOVE! 💌❤
Traduzir para português
"It's like a diamond ring it's a precious thing." That was Al Jarreau. A world treasure, this man. We lost one of the absolute greatest voices of all time. I adored his music. It got me through so much over the years. Thank you God for giving us Al Jarreau. My prayers to his family, friends & fans. "From the beginning to end, always there my old friend. True until the end of time. " Rest in peace, Mr. Jarreau.
When artists like Al Jarreau pass on, those of us who enjoyed the music, who lived the music, who felt the music, whose souls were touched by the music - we all lose a part of ourselves. Many people will say "people die every day and you didn't know him, so...." But you either feel it or you don't. Hard to explain.
All of the comments in this conversation thread are great. A great tribute by clbzone and a great description of the feelings that we get from artists like Jarreau. You are on point Albert. It's hard to explain but the feeling there is a strong force and it's beautiful. Thank you. RIP Jarreau
Albert Kaprielian I truly feel depressed about this man being gone. :'(
This music evokes everything sacred...my childhood, good times, my dad who has been deceased for 20 years. Al Jarreau was so alive in his music; I am very saddened by his demise.
clbzone Yes, I grew up on his music. I had really cool parents who put me up on game when it came to good music.
He will be missed.
Never gets tired...a classic song.
Haven't heard this in a while. Simply beautiful. We're in this together .... we need more songs like this right now that just spread calm and happiness.
Absolutely amen !!!!🙌💜😊🍷
Bring back the humanity in humans not all this division chaos and selfishness. Accept each other for who we are not based on projected fears.
They're all gone. Al Jarreau, Marvin Gaye, etc. There is no one speaking those words anymore. Plus, everyone can listen to whatever they want. If you want to hear hate and spite, you can get it piped directly to you 24/7. That is the real difference. If you wanted fear and anger and hatred back in then, you had to work to get it, AND it was harder to find others of like mind. Now, it comes to you with the click of a mouse, along with a whole community of fellow misanthropes. Plus, let's face it: When this song came out, our country looked alot different. Now, 40 years later, increasing diversity is leading to more whites feeling that "their country" is being "taken away from them"
You got that right, these songs today sound sad and depressing as hell to me. That's why so many people are miserable, listening too this sad ass music today
I like my oldies and classics
I played this song and my chihuahua freaked out and loved it. She listened with her eyes open, not moving, and totally got it. She just stared at me through the whole song. Love Al, he’s a genius!
There were times when music and the world really just made you want to live forever.
David Val Hang in there. We are fortunate to have lived in a fun time w lovely music that moved us.
It's fun to continue hearing great songs even just in our heads.
Yeah, that feels like a long time ago... 💔
There’s more music all the time and good times are somewhere in the world. It’s up to you to do your part making the world a place worth living forever. Your love will spread and eventually overcome all hate.
RIP Al Jerreau ...Master of Jazz Singer ...Irreplaceable.....
I am musically stuck in the 70's. The unapologetic era of the best Vocalists, Musicians, Producers, and Lovers. 🎶 💃 👏. Thanks for the fond memories !
This was the 80s dude.
@@MatthewCaldwell-hi9mt super 70s best Ever 80s 3rd best. Great old days when USA is America 😢😢
If I were to get married, I will definitely play this song at my wedding 🥹
I had the pleasure of seeing Al Jarreau , George Benson and George Duke performing together at the St Lucia Jazz in 07 . Certainly one of those treasured memories.
Beefysmith You are are a lucky dude!
Blessed man...you saw the true giants
Damn now that’s a show.
Lucky you!! I can imagine that it was a wonderful and fun concert!
I saw Al Jarreau and George Benson perform together in Tucson, AZ in 2007
RIP to a great musician with a great Valentines Day song that has been played at thousands of weddings

Simplesmente linda a música cantor alto nível 👏👏👏👏
I played this song when I visited my dad's grave. Reminds me of being a kid in the car on the way to the union flea market while he listened to cd101.9
I wouldn't trade those memories for anything, including silently arguing with my sister.
Sweet post. I’m not crying, you’re crying.
I enjoyed your comment @aja

A wonderful song from a great artist. Sadly missed.
Listening in 2021 all the way from NewZealand. This was our cutting the cake song at our wedding x
I just discovered this song three days ago!. Greetings from Argentina my friend!
Al's dulcet tones at your wedding....I can just imagine it Nathalie. My girlfriend (now wife) discovered Jarreau's music in the 80's, and I'm still taken back to my youth with every soulful track. Kia Ora from Napier HB.
Listening in this moment from São Paulo Brazil.
Congrats!
Sweet!😀
great song. instantly takes you back a few decades.
Al Jarreau was from a time where it was celebrated to be 'individual', and not a copy cat of someone else. This is what made him and many artist from that era, great - the audacity to be unique.
Jay Rod so true
and that's why the 80's ended up with so many GREAT SONGS from all genres of music.
What a great song
Agree totally
Amazing most versatile voice ever!
Beautiful song. So sorry I never got the opportunity to see him perform live. R.I.P. Mr. Jarreau, may your songs live on in our hearts and memories for a lifetime.

VERY RELAXING AND ENJOYABLE ❤
When I discovered Al as a teenager, he had the most distinctive voice I had ever heard to that point.
R.I.P. AL. The music will be a little sadder without you 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
He sang so easily. No effort on his part at all. Such a natural and so gifted. Missed dearly. ♥️
Still beautiful after all these years! Amazing Al !!
R.I. P., Al Jarreau.
He's got the most interesting facial expressions. I could watch him all day
Yeah, you know he is feeling the music and words
I like him because he wasn't a fake artist as far as I can see at least he wasn't cliche
Reminds of Keith from Good Times lol
That's called the "sex face". He is imagining doin it while singing, and so what you are seeing are the faces he makes while having sex, because that is what the song is really meant to do. It's a sophisticated type of foreplay, and mainly a 'guy thing'
I agree 😂
R.I.P Al Jarreau ...Thank you for your music.....❤ ♫ ♬ ❤
Thanks!! Al
Hi Miri,hope you’re okay ?
It is so gratifying see the happiness whilst he sings... he really loved this no matter what. You can feel even on his perfomance his gesture expressions what a great guy
