Could be a decent value if it were priced around $250 tops... it's an older CPU (~2022) with integrated rdna2 graphics, however, these apu's still provide decent performance overall so $250 would be more than fair imo but @$300, my advice would be to save up another $50-$100 & get a zen4(+) apu
I'd love a comparison with these mini PCs to the M-series Mac minis. I'm still on my M1 mini, and it's great for what I do with it. But.... I would be lying if I said seeing these mini PCs with their easy-to-open expandability didn't make me a bit envious.....
Around a year ago i picked up a 7840HS based mini PC for $520. IF i didnt already have an N100 based firewall, and this M6 had Intel NICs i would consider this for around $250. Imagine if it used all 16 of those PCIe lanes for 4xM.2 slots at a slower, but more efficient PCIe 3.0 speeds. I'd definiately use something like this as a higher end firewall for things like router based intrusion detection, or a pi-hole+SteamCache
@@LonSeidman Looks to be $300 + additional equipment rental fees per month? That's what I read on the Xfinity forums. That can't be right. Their current system is FTTC I believe. They are putting more fiber in my neighborhood, but it's Quantam (or Quantum, I dunno) and Google Fiber is also supposed to be going in soon. All I see available on my Xfinity service is Gigabit Extra, which is limited because of Docsis.
I am itching to get rid of my honking Plex server but Lon is giving me too many choices! I don’t really watch too much and don’t stream 4k so it is overkill to run my massive gaming PC all of the time.
I like this little PC. It's one draw back is, when you put in the second M.2 drive if you use a heat sink the heat sink gets in the way of the little top fan. Might have to do a case mod to raise the fan a bit.
I'm surprised that the PS2 gaming performance was shown at native resolution when it should have been obvious that it could easily run at higher resolutions. I got the feeling that this was a rushed review, without as much interest as there should have been.
Maybe I missed it, but did you mentioned it for Plex Server? Or Would it be better to go for one of the higher end models you’ve already reviewed for a server?
$250 is the absolute maximum this thing should cost. Dual lan and dual m.2 is commendable, but this CPU is not worth $300 or especially the $350 that it's at the time of this comment.
My biggest problem with this unit is AMD's fault. Why oh why does the Ryzen 5, take the 8 core Ryzen 7, cut the cores down from 8 to 6, but then take the GPU cores and cut them down from 12 to 6. Thats what they used to do with Ryzen 3 processors and the CSP should have reflected it. Oh, i should mention the last generation Ryzen 5 only cut down the GPU by 12.5% where as this generation, and only this generation, saw the GPU cut down by 50%
Does it have a legit Windows 11 key stored in the bios? The beelinks of the world do not. A clean install on those will leave you with a non activated Windows install. You basically have to tie activation to a microsoft account.
Did you watch the video up to 9:01? It comes with a windows licence. A clean install requires some modification to skip the microsoft account activation on any pc regardless of bios key presence, if that is what you mean.
Im looking for a mini PC, haven't had a PC for 10 years, (been using aging MacBooks,) so I'm lacking knowledge, was looking at Beelink and GMK, so Beelilnk has a bootleg copy of Windows? Is that what you mean?
can you compare this to Nvidia shield? Just curious. I need to find a way to play all content on streaming services at faster playback speed, and almost none offer it on their dedicated streaming apps (besides UA-cam). so with this I could use chrome and adjust playback speed to my hearts content (I'm hoping it can handle 4k)
Thanks for the review! One thing I don’t like is this mini PC having memory and storage above the CPU because hot air goes up, not down.
Excellent review again! Love the small form factor pc reviews, keep 'm coming!
This is a beast! I just got a portable monitor & I can get this for traveling!
My laptop has a 6800h and a 3060 gpu. It’s a nice combo.

This would make a great HTPC.
What ISP do you have? I want those speeds!
GameSack in the building!
It’s Comcast’s secret menu item! lon.tv/gigpro - it’s now at 10 gig symmetrical- totally crazy

web browsing blazingly fast omg
in the UK it takes me to a seller who is selling it for £880 which is nuts.
Yep. Same for me. You must want your bumps felt if you pay that much for it.
Why did you show me this? I have money burning in my pocket.

:) I am here to serve !
Definitely go with an Intel one - better compatibility for hardware transcoding

I generally don't recommend AMD devices as Plex servers. Some work ok with hardware transcoding but not guaranteed to do so.

My thoughts exactly. Great little machines but these things are expensive.
$219 on AliExpress right now
@LonSeidman Would have loved to see how well this one handled Linux gaming with a distro like Bazzite.
I bought the barebone version. Please, what is the complete information describing the Adata Memory ?
can you link me to some of their higher end mini pc’s?
Just curious, this machine is suitable for Plex Server? As it is using AMD chip and not Intel N100..

interesting no multiroom dvr update on your zapperbox ?..
Doesn’t support drm and I only have one unit. Much less expensive ways to do it with ATSC 1.
Does it have a socket to connect two speakers and a woofer?
I wish it had a thunderbolt/ocululink port...oh well
m2 adapters exist.

I will need to check the bios to see if there’s a key stored there.
@LonSeidman there's a wmic command you can run to see if it has a stored key.

Does anyone play EAFC 24 on this? How's the performance?

when I click the link, I get the 32GB and 1Tb version for 360.....
