Top 15 Small Parks with Standout Coasters in the U.S.!

- There are many smaller amusement parks that most people do not know of due to their remote location or a small number of rollercoasters. In this video, I hope to highlight the parks with less than 8 rollercoasters in the U.S. that are worth visiting. If your favorite park is not listed in the video, there's a good chance that it has 8 or more rollercoasters.

Thanks for watching! If your favorite park wasn’t on this list, it’s likely because it has 8 or more rollercoasters. This includes most six flags parks, Kennywood (8), Knott’s Berry Farm (8), Worlds of fun (8 with Zambezi zinger opening next year).
But What About The U.K.
As someone who grew up with Indiana beach being their home park for 20 years, seeing Indiana beach on this list made me so happy. Cornball Express is a criminally underrated CCI and is one of my all time favorite woodies

Parks with 8 or more coasters don't qualify for this list. It's certainly a small park land wise (especially since it does not have an attatched waterpark) but it has the coaster collection of a large park at this point. I will admit they do need that third standout coaster to officially be a large park though. Every enthusiast is going to have the same top 2 (maybe ordered differently based on tastes) but there is a signifigant drop to that 3 spot, with no conscensus on what coaster should take it. I say remove Aero 360 (which could be sent to Lake Compounce or something) for the station and use the plot aquired from the railroad to build it. Or if Dusquene won't let that happen, tear down the strip mall, have the parking over there, and expand the park into the current parking lot.

Best wooden roller coaster he must be talking about Voyage
I visited Fun Spot Atlanta a few months ago. One of the employees there said there was a guy that has rode Arieforce One over 10,000 times.
I grew up going to Indiana Beach. I took the grandkids there last month. We had a blast. Cornball Express was a blast. The All American Triple Loop was running but unfortunately I didn’t go on it. The park looks great. Gene Staples has really invested in reviving this park.
ArieForce One is the best roller coaster in Georgia, and I say that with no hesitation!
A few things-
1. Michigan's Adventure NEEDS to be on this list somewhere. Shivering timbers has tons of airtime, and if you can put holiday world in the "must visit" tier mainly for The Voyage, you can put Michigan's Adventure in here SOMEWHERE.
2. SeaWorld Orlando and Islands of Adventure are by no means small parks, they just don't have as many roller coasters.
Besides, you really don't need to say them, as 4.6 million people visited SeaWorld Orlando in 2019, and Islands of Adventure had 9.08 million visitors in 2022.
3. Kentucky Kingdom deserves a higher rating. It has two ELITE coasters in Storm Chaser and Lightning Run, and Storm Chaser ALONE is worth a visit to Kentucky Kingdom.

holiday world actually has some other coasters that are good. no matter how good shivering timbers is, there is no reason to go there if you're over an hour away. but the others i agree with

5. Knott's Berry Farm (not counting xcelerator and montezooma)
6. Kentucky Kingdom
7. Seaworld San Anotnio
8. Dorney Park
9. Mt. Olympus
10. Funspot Atlanta
11. Waldameer
12. Bay Beach
13. Knoebels
14. Michigan's Adventure
15. Lake Compounce
Knoebel's is NOT 1/2 hour away from Hersheypark. More like about 70-80 minutes, depending on traffic.
Kennywood definitely needs to be on this list

Adventlamd got me into coaster with first the outlaw. It's a good park.
Cool video - but I don't know if "small park" is the best descriptor for parks like Islands of Adventure and Silver Dollar City. I know your definition is 7 coasters or fewer, but I'd say Lagoon for example definitely feels "smaller" in scale than the Orlando parks.

Glad Kentucky Kingdom made this list I really like that park. They have really put in the best additions they could with the restrictions they have
I went to waldemeer and it's OK only thing saving it is it's free to get in and park and just have to pay for rides but the 1 or 2 coasters i found worth it for
one that doesn't fit the criteria, but I'd say, if you can, absolutely come out here for it, is Lagoon in Farmington, Utah, their standout coaster is Cannibal, an in house hyper coaster with the tallest beyond vertical drop in the world and the world's only Lagoon Roll, plus an amazing supporting lineup to go with that as well since they have Colossus, a Schwarzkopf doppler looper, Wicked, the first Zierer Tower Coaster, and the first full circuit coaster to have a vertical launch, and the all new Primordial, which I can't talk about because yes, this ride has spoilers
👍Glad to hear you're planning a trip to Knoebels: The retirement home for great classic rides. Heed the call, Knoebels is a FULL day park. Too many "best in the country" and rare unique rides like Flying Turns await you there. Getting plenty of re-rides on Phoenix & Twister is essential for proper ratings.

Indiana Beach's best coaster is easily Lost Coaster. A woodie with an elevator, insane laterals and ejector airtime, forward and backwards. Cornball Express is also rough.
Knoebels is my happy place
Sea World you lost me at Vest Restaurants. They are horrible, the ones at Kings Island get so tight I feel like I can't breath at the breaks.
I hear that all the time but have never had that happen once in my life and I have a pretty large coaster count
It was never going to make the list, being in the UK, but Drayton Manor. It has the only remaining Intamin stand up, I didn’t get the best rides as I went on a cold day with not enough people to fill one train on said Intamin.

Morey's Piers tears are saltier than the Atlantic Ocean it sits next to not being on the list.
I am sorry, but how could you leave out Storyland in New Hampshire!? Roar-a-saurus is a must, especially when they do Nostalgia Nights and you get a night ride on it!

How is Michigan Advenute not on this list, they have 7 roller coasters and shivering timbers wich is one of the wooden in the world
Because they are the poster child for being a red headed step child. Their parent company CF neglects this park so horribly where new additions are concerned. It’s locked into the mediocre category with no hope as long as CF owns it.

😂 Knotts only has 4 adult thrill Coasters. Ghostrider, Silver Bullet, Xcelerator (down since 3/22), & Hangtime. Montezoomas Revenge has been removed.
Jaguar, Pony Express, Coast Rider, & Sierra Sidewinder are all family coasters. But if you counted them all that's 8 coasters. 7 without counting Xcelerator as it's been SBNO since March 2022. Montezoomas Revenge is gone.
Montezooma’s Revenge gone, not quite correct. They are just giving it an extreme makeover. It will be back in a different form and different name sometime in 2023.

I think his definition of “small” park is any theme park with under 8 coasters. I personally wouldn’t use that definition because SeaWorld and Islands of Adventure are HUGE theme parks, maybe not for coasters but just overall

Couple of things....
Michigan's Adventure? Ever heard of it?
Obviously not since you think Voyage has the most airtime out of any wooden coaster...
Shivering Timbers has more airtime than Voyage, Diamonback, Steel Vengeance, Phantom's Revenge or Phoenix.
Don't believe the hype. Voyage and Steel Vengeance claim to have the most airtime... But let us remember those numbers come from a computer simulation and not actual rider experience. I feel that they count any negative g's as airtime.
So are they counting all negative g's?
Take SteVen's pre-lift for example. It gives negative g's, but they aren't strong enough for me to call it airtime. But I guarantee the park is counting it to get that record...
Come to Michigan and ride Shivering Timbers, the ride that actually has the most airtime. I base that statement on decades of experience and not the park's marketing hype.
Speaking of hype... Why is everyone hyping up Arie Force One so much?
It looks short. It looks slow. It has a really dumb name.
It looks more like a flop to me, but I keep hearing people say it's a top-tier RMC.
I shouldn't be surprised, every RMC coaster suffers from over-hype...
Sadly MIA is kept in the mediocre status by CF. As long as they own this park it’s potential to be great is never going to happen.
@@cyrbuzz6615 Yeah that's probably true, but as long as they keep it clean and running I'm happy. The water park is the biggest draw so it's real easy to lap coasters without a fast pass. I always have a great time there.
There is no way Shivering Timbers has more airtime than Voyage. Voyage has 1000 feet more track and airtime all over the place and it's much more varied. ST is a great ride though so who cares? The amount of airtime is only one aspect of a ride and not really important.
Sure I'm just talking trash.
Thats why El Toro Ryan and Cedar Flags both say ST has more airtime than Voyage too...
@@carysage I judge by my own experience not what someone else on youtube says but I said ST doesn't have more airtime. I didn't say it had less. IMO they are pretty similar in airtime but Voyage packs more varied airtime than ST does. Shivering Timbers is like a wood coaster version of a B&M hyper. It reminds me of the layout of Intimidator at Carowinds. It's a great ride.
Glad Disney isn't on the list, Go Woke Go Broke...
Disney is the definition of extremely overated parks and companies. Without the mouse they wouldn’t be anymore special than a SixFlags operation.
