Sea Fury is my favourite aircraft, what a beautiful beast!
What an inspiring video! Some great aircraft and one of our most revered carriers Many thanks.
Great video.
Fabulous stuff! If I could only take one aircraft with me it would probably be a Sea Fury.
As usual you've posted some new film never seen before (by me anyway.) I note that the pilots and crew look older than the WWII era films and I presume that most of them are veterans of WWII.
Contrast their faces with the usual films we see of the Battle of Britain and that era. Thanks for your work and I look forward to seeing more. Cheers from Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
Thank you very much for your comments, Barrie. Very pleased to know you are enjoying the films so much, and all the way from Canada! Yes, they are most likely veterans of WWII, as this footage was shot in the 1950s.
Thank You.
Really interesting stuff👍
Weren't the first naval helicopters piston engined?
All the early helicopters were.... In US military Service I believe the first widely used turbine engined helo was the Iroquois... UH-1 In the excellent book "Chicken Hawk" the author describes the transition from the piston engined training helos to the Huey... its a great read.
@@trooperdgb9722 my comment relates to the statement that the Sea Fury was the last piston engined aircraft flown by the Fleet Air Arm
@@davewolfy2906 And what a beauty it was...
That's a small carrier
Small but perfectly formed!
@@FASTAviationArchive Nice!
