I would personally love to read more books written by Hideyuki Kikuchi; I really enjoy reading Vampire Hunter D and would like to read more books that he wrote. The problem is that most of his books are either never published in English or they were published in English, but the publisher either dropped the series or went out of business, making those books that are published in English super rare and very expensive. My personal top ten light novel that I would like to read writen by Hideyuki Kikuchi 1. The Tale of Meiji Dracula 2. Demon City Shinjuku 3. Maohden 4. Wicked City 5. Darkside Blues 6. A Wind Named Amnesia 7. Jashin Sensen Restructuring Boy 8. Alien Hihouden 9. Vampire Dorobou Steel 10. Alien Jashin Takara Miya I know there are more books, but the list is already long enough. This is why I really, really hope that your Kickstarter will be successful, so more people will buy Vampire Hunter D light novels, so maybe, just maybe, this will motivate Dark Horse Comics to publish more works by Hideyuki Kikuchi, because right now they are the last remaining English publisher that publishes his stuff.
The 1985 Vampire Hunter D movie introduced to the world of anime and I have been a fan ever since. My family/friend introduced it to me when I was 10 on VHS. When I went to college, I decided to buy the books and anime and I became a collector of the books, manga, artbooks and any works of Hideyuki Kikuchi I can find. Would you guys ever consider making comic adaptations of Hideyuki Kikuchi's work like Wicked City and Demon City Shinjuku?
It's definitely something we we've thought about. We haven't pursued that as we don't want to try doing too much and doing badly at all of it. MfM was the first test of adapting VHD for comics. Now onto a full novel. See where we go from there :)
Another good convo boys!
