I am Brazilian and Baiana. I would like to express how amazed I am by the incredible work you did today. The tribute to my state through the song "Baiana" was simply wonderful. I was moved and proud to see the dedication and passion you put into every movement and expression. . Congratulations to all of you for this incredible presentation! Much Axé for everyone.
Baiana is a woman born in the State of Bahia. Bahia is the blackest state in Brazil due to the colonial period when slaves were brought to the large sugar cane farms (sugar cane is the raw material for sugar). That's why the music has beautiful African characteristics. The first capital of Brazil was established in Bahia.
