Difere muito de grupo para grupo, alguns chamam o Baianá, se estendendo no final o aaaah. As Baianinhas do grupo dela como eram chamadas carinhosamente tinham entre 50 e 80 anos. O nome do grupo era Baianas Flor de Lis, tem vídeo delas participando de festivais como o da Lavadeira em Pernambuco e um quer era no centro de Maceió. Anos atrás a Karol com K também usou em uma de suas musicas o toque característico das baianas. Esse tipo de manifestação cultural não é exclusivo da Bahia, pois se estende até o sul da Paraíba, misturando com maracatu rural, coco e outras vertentes... A universidade federal de Alagoas fez um trabalho muito bonito em meados de 2007-2008 reunindo os diversos grupos do Estado e tentando mapear. Como fazem anos quer não vou ao Brasil não posso te dizer como anda o cenário atual, mas o que digo é que com a quarentena muitos grupos foram extintos como por exemplo o da minha mãe pois o centro social em que eles se reuniam fechou e o medo do contágio afastou muitas senhorinhas.

You hear the voices of the Indians, the songs of the black people, the songs of the washerwomen on the banks of the rivers, the prayers in the small chapels in the interior, the faith healers in the small towns and the rumbles of the carts. I had goosebumps through the entire video, the energy, the movements fitting every beat and as a portuguese I know how much Brasilian people suffered through out the centuries. This feels like a celebration of the brasilia culture, a dance that celebrates that culture! Thank you Galen for choreographing such an amazing choreo!

It was such an honor to watch this and especially what you stand for, 'UNITY IN DIVERSITY', not a word of a lie! You chose the perfect selection of people to represent your showcase and they were all outstanding in their performance. A young girl was performing in the middle, I have seen her on many occasions and she is truly a talented dancer.
The song you chose,"Baiana", gave me such a delightful surprise! I bought her CD a long time ago and really loved her incandescent sounds. I played her Album every day, you can imagine suddenly hearing this song and seeing you all dancing to it! It was like, OH MY GOSH!! THEY'RE PLAYING MY JAM! 😃 So happy!
