I’ve been playing with using permanent marker on the leather of rabbit zonkers. In clear water the hide looks kinda silver white until it gets waterlogged. I’ve been putting dots or stripes on it to make it look more natural. That jig looks great!
Definitely like seeing the jigs in action. My 2 year old little girl did as well. She said "Daddy, will you put that orange thing on my fishing rod?" Guess I got some tying to do!
Definitely, more like this. Flies to, just make them and then show us how it's done. It's really cool the way this particular clip was made. Just like this jig this clip was on fire
WoW. I'm brand new to this at 63 years old. I saw a fly tying book in our library when I was 9, I went home and got a hook, and snipped off some hair from our dog. Some red thread and the hair hour made my first fly. YOU have inspired me to do it now, and I think our black lab will be safe.... maybe. Thank you for your videos. Nick in Redfield Arkansas..
Great jig! Instead of having to color the thread, I use some glitter glue from Dollar Tree. You get 8 tubes multiple colors, for $1.25. Not only does it color the thread, but adds sparkle and cements the chenille. They have several colors of chenille as well. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing. PB
You and Patrick over at Woods and Water are the best at blending cheniles. Pat taught me how to do it a s the color combinations are endless. And you taught me how to use schlappen feathers and polar chenile blended the same way which was the first time I have ever seen that method. Great pattern Mustache.
This is a fantastic looking jig, I have not seen this method of twisting the chenilles, but you can BET tomorrow when I’m in my tying room I will be trying it out.. I just happen to have all the materials needed to tie this jig. Thanks so much for teaching me
By the way....I don't know where you live but the scenery is breath taking. Catching crappie and mountain ranges in the back ground...can't get much better then that.
@@MustacheJigs I used to do some fly fishing and tied my own flies. Then I got hooked on ultra-light spin fishing. After awhile I started tying my maribou and hair jigs to save money. That led to wooly bugger jigs. Now I’m experimenting with everything jiggy. You have so great skills tying and you make a great video. Thanks a bunch.
Really liked seeing you fish the jig you just made. I think I may just have to go get a tying jig set and start replicating the jigs you have been making Kudos!!
I just bought a PEAK vise (with the brass adjustment/ tensioner screw) and all the accouterments so I can start tying some of these up myself!! LOL! Spendy but well worth it! The fishing demonstration at the end was AWESOME! Loved that!
Good looking jig I will tie some up to try . Good to see the jigs in action catching fish think you wish everyone that ties a jig would show them like that think you 👍🏻

Thanks for watching! I purchase my heads from Davin Wayne Grimmett Sr. on Facebook. He doesn’t have a site unfortunately. He sells them in painted or painted.

Nice video selection on your channel here, Mustache, and I have SUB'D!! Been entertaining myself for HOURS & HOURS looking over all your content! Just an observation from a COMPLETE and ABSOLUTE novice, I think it would be possible to "mask" the bunny hide as shown and commented upon in your video, with an ever so small hint of marabou in a coloration that might provide a "hot spot" such as hot pink, fl. orange, and/or chartreuse. Additionally, I've just bought a PEAK vice and was wondering: What is the vice that you are using, kind sir? Thank You.
@@MustacheJigs And the body chenille put me in the mood for a Butterfinger. I guess the takeaway is not watch fly/jig tying videos when you're hungry. I have an idea myself. Most of the floating jig heads you can buy for walleye Lindy rigs are nothing more than a piece of painted styrofoam on a live bait hook. I'm going to dress a few of them up with some marabou and see if it provokes more bites.

Would love to see you make a comeback with this channel. Really appreciate your tutorials and it would be nice to see you fish more of your lures.

That is so cool to hear! Thank you for the thoughtful comment.
lol.. I have definitely considered ‘borrowing’ a little hair from my ginger cat
That’s the best use of a zonker I’ve seen!! Awesome color!! Definitely catches fish!! Thanks for sharing!!
Yay, Mustache, we finally went fishing together. "Looks like he brought a salad with him." 😆 Know the feeling.
Great jig and color combo - yes the fishing footage with the jig you just tied is a great addition. Thanks!
That is a killer peacock bass color. FISH ON !
Great looking jig and thanks for taking us fishing!

Jig looks great. Nice work 👍🏻 new supporter here. Looks like the jig works well too.
Wow very nice
I bet it would look just as good if not better if you wrapped The Zonker. I like the pattern I would probably do it this way then wrapping it.👍🏼
For sure! I’ve tried wrapping it as well and it does look great. I’ll have to save that for another video.

Flyfishfood.com
Can you tell me where you purchased your materials. Thanks
The materials for this jig came from flyfishfood.com
What do you use to sprinkle the yellow paint on the orange head?
A small paintbrush. You just tap it with your finger to sprinkle a small amount.
Thanks for the info. Love your channel.
Nice!
been trying to find Fire Orange, but unable to locate it. Where did u get urs?
Jigjunkie on eBay. It’s like $5.50 for 1oz.
WHERE DID YOU FIND Black/orange barred chenille .THANKS
Sportsman’s Warehouse
THANKS SO MUCH@@MustacheJigs
Fire tiger is green black yellow and orange.
I know because it's my favorite color pattern.
You’re right. I called it that even though I’m missing the green.
Would provide your primary vendors for these materials?

Thank you! That is a great idea. I tie on a Renzetti. I’ve had it for over 10 years and it’s served me well!
Can you provide the bar code numbers? Thx.
Fire tiger? Once the tail was tied in, all I could think of was candy corn. 🤣
Hey that gives me an idea for another video 😂
