    Great vids Luke. I'm set on getting my hgv licence and your vids have helped and informed me so much. Seems like not many women in the industry but I won't let my friends or anyone put me off . Thanks for your videos!

      +Carly Watts thanks for watching mate :)
      You’re right, it is a heavily male dominated industry however there ARE female drivers doing it too. So You wouldn’t be alone.
      It shouldn’t matter if you’re Male or Female, straight or gay, black or white, English or foreign.
      Let me know how you get on :)

    I'm in a similar boat - I'm wondering if I should do my class 1. However I'm happy with class 2 work & looking at class 1 jobs in my area I'm earning not much less than class 1. Also I'm Monday to Friday & normally home in doors by 5. Then you want the option of both classes to get work. Am I right in saying you got that bollox again about needing experience for class 1 & being new etc.... great video Luke, funny into 😂😂😂

    You'd get a lot of work on an agency with class 2 tipper experience with class 1 in your back pocket
    Often wonder why you don't combine working time directive break with driving hours break and time it at the same time each day irrespective of what deliveries you have etc that way it will help those planning your day plan your day around your lunch etc - it will make life so much easier for you and the office etc
    I only mention it because you always seem to be chasing minutes trying to get your half an hour in towards the end of the day when almost sitting looking at yard but needing to take a break etc but if you combine working time directive break and driving hours break together it saves so much stressing etc lol
    When you start working your day around you and when you want to stop at where you want to stop etc for breakfast etc and not where you need to stop etc your day will get so much easier lol
    Great video as always

    Think best thing to do, is have a chat with fastasafox, and maybe do some short-term agency work, if anything, to get some experience under class 1, especially noting that your current line of work is coming to an end..... use the opportunity to see if you would take to class 1 work / different work, and if you find out you don't like it at the end, not too much of a problem to go back. I'm sure Foxy will be all to happy to give you the benefit of his experience, as he's on (Or was, not too sure now) class 1 agency work, also noting some firms will not touch you without some experience, so the agency situ is quite handy for that.

    • @lukecinahgv

      1_foxtrot_01 yes you're right. Think I said that because my 2nd axel is at the front of my body. Then two more at the back. Not forgetting the 1st axel under the cab. 4 in total.

      Valid Point but its abit of a judgement call. Also another two factors you have to remember is Its always better to have Cargo beside your head board due to less chance of movement and its also easier to strap. Another Factor which wont play as big a part is traction. If your going to a site that could be slippery etc its always good to have abit of extra weight for your drive axle.

    Hopefully you go class 1.
    You would be the first channel to document (film) the transition from 2 to 1.
    I think it would make for very interesting viewing, finally someone showing us what it's like to be new in a class 1
    Good luck Luke, great channel & vids mate 👍

    What was that worker spraying on the drain cover at 6:00 ?

    • @666trucker7
      @666trucker7 7 років тому

      nomad9 usually they spray diesel on the grids so the tarmac doesn't stick.

    • @norm4260
      @norm4260 7 років тому

      Is there not a danger of contaminating the surrounding road surface as well so the tarmac doesn't stick there either?

    • @666trucker7
      @666trucker7 7 років тому

      nomad9 they only put a light spray on the grids but yes your rite they shouldn't use it.
