Hi Sarah, fab kiln opening and a little tour, love it. Love love love the bougainvillea, shalllot and the papaya, not sure we can get the new colours here yet. The big platters❤ and the pumpkin im in love❤❤
Thank you so much Julia!! I hope they come to the UK soon, they are totally your colours!! I'm looking forward to connecting in our little chat group!! 😘
I LIVE the wall vase!! What an awesome idea Sarah!! So for your spoons I was thinking if you put the handle in the kiln post and then put a kiln stilt with the prongs under the spoon part it would help. It wouldn’t be all of the weight of the entire spoon so maybe it wouldn’t go so deeply into the kiln stilt. I know that’s such a hard thing to deal with when the glaze gets so far into the stilt. Maybe put one glaze on the outside of the spoon and the combo on the top inside the scoop part? Maybe? Omg that Boug glaze is soooo gorgeous and the shallot!!! I don’t think I’ve seen them glazed on flat pieces!!! My gosh the trays and bowls are just gorgeous!!! What a magnificent kiln load. Such beautiful pieces Sarah!!
You've got some great ideas here gurl!! I think i will try using different glazes on the inside/outside of the spoons! 🤔 and yes adding a stilt when using the kiln post may just do the trick. And Thanks so much, your words of encouragement mean the world to me!! xo

Hi Sarah! I love ware repair, I use it all the time. It’s for gluing pieces back together and then glazing them. I try to hide the glue by only dabbing enough to stick the broken pieces together. Try not to let any ware repair be visible. For fixing cracks you can try bisque fix which will fill in cracks but leaves a bright white color even under the heaviest glazes.

Thank you sooo much Marie! I was super nervous as I didn't know how much they were going to flow or combine together, but like the other Floating series, they are super user friendly! 🥰
Thank you!! I've filmed how I glazed it, so I will have to put it out! I've got some throwing to do and some other projects, but when they are in drying mode I will have to sit down to edit! 🥰
On the Ware Repair I noticed it is SUPER thick and you have to mix it thoroughly before using it. I stirred it with a paintbrush end. It worked for me on the one thing I tried it on…hmm. Maybe mix it more?
Oh good to know that you got it to work...I did give it a good shake it but i didn't stir it 🤨...after you re bisque fire did the glaze adhere?? It was so weird that on mine it literally disappeared where i had applied the ware repair.
@@SarahWaltonPottery ya know I used it more to “glue” a pice that cracked off the end of a tile and I don’t remember if I put that much more glaze on. It had already been glazed before I refired so..I don’t know

As always....so many beautiful pieces and glaze combinations. Thanks for sharing the kiln program. I will definitely try this program. The new spectrum glazes are just glorious. I bought mayco clay mender but am still yet to use it. See how it goes and will let you know results. Happy potting
Thanks so much Evelyn!! 🥰 Let me know how the program works for you and please do update me on the Mayco clay mender! it's always good to have an arsenal of tools that make the process easier! 🥰
@@SarahWaltonPotteryyes when I use the clay maker I will let you know how it works. Question: your kiln shelves have kiln wash on them, so do you then sprinkle alumina hydrate on the shelf when firing a flat piece. How much do you use? I did my first break in kiln firing today. Cone 04 and half way through I realized I didn't put cones in. Next time. I'll have post it notes everywhere to remind me. Figuring out how to video and upload to UA-cam with just my phone being an Android-Samsung. So much to learn wow!! Happy potting.
Hey Sarah, love the blue rectangle tray. Those are my kind of glazes as I’m not a pink gal like Nat. Thanks for thinking of us re pug mill clay but might be a bit expensive to ship but I know Nat already gets glazes I think from them. Love the blue Aqua spectrum mug. Bougainvillea is gorgeous for a pink. Love blue bayou. When you say you added alumina hydrate to your wax resist, how much? Oh wow your pumpkin is gorgeous. I do appreciate pretty pinks. Sunrise on its own is pretty. The ginger bougainvillea and sunrise is a nice combo. Love the large blue bowl. Love the shape of your sunrise mug and also the last mug plus the glaze. Great kiln unload 😍
Hi Trace!!! THANK YOU soooooooooo much!! XO 😘 as for the Alumina Hydrate. I mix about 2 tbsp to a cup of wax. I then add some food colouring..ahem.. pink of course.. so I know that it got the AH. It really doesn’t need a lot of AH, just enough to add a few grains to act as ball bearings. Let me know how it works for you!! 😘 glad you’re back!! 🥰
Hey Sarah love the bougainvillea it’s on my list! Oh I already buy all my spectrum from pugmill how exciting! Might be a bit expensive to ship clay tho lol. I’ve always wondered what iron yellow looks like alone thanks for doing it for us lol. Yes DO NOT touch the broken glaze. Ask me how I know 🤪. Wow all the new spectrums r gorgeous but they are my fav brand now! I’d leave the butter keeper I love the touch of pink. Ohhh the pumpkin is too cute!! If wheel thrown you could open up right down to the wheel head then cut holes n make luminaries candle holders? Neutral house except for the pink door 😂. Oh the big blue bowl is stunning! Amazing unload great to see the new glazes. Nat xx
Thanks so much Nat! how is the finger healing??? I saw you on the wheel again so it must be pretty well healed 🙏🏻 I love the idea of drilling down to the bat and making the pumpkin a jack-o-lantern! perfect!! No really, my house is super neutral! ahaha...except for the pink door! haha.. love ya girl!xo
@@SarahWaltonPotteryoh good I’m glad you read my mind re jack o lantern don’t know why my sentence finished half way. Edited now lol. Finger is still tender n new skin so I have to b careful but couldn’t not use my new wheel!!!

Super inspired to get to glazing and trying some of your combos! I don’t have any of the new Spectrum glazes yet but I think I’ll need to get some!! Hehe, /thank you 😊
Omg my textured turq is behaving the same! But I put 3 coats. Wowzer your iron yellow gets super yellow! I always mix mine with other things so I’ve never seen it by itself. You’re so tan girl! OMG the floating turquoise😮 love your spoons. Ooh la la the ramps are with morning glory and ginger…LOVE that, wow. Yeah, B-Mix gives a lovely glaze result..don’t re-fire that butter keeper!!!!! It’s so pretty!
I just love your feedback!! 🥰 TT on the refire just seems to disappear! 😵💫 so annoying...I try to soak in the sun when I can...summer is just so dang short here 🥹 if only i lived in SoCal!! you're so lucky!!!...I think I'll leave the butter keeper as is...thanks😘
thanks so much Nora! I'm still on the fence with that one...but I really appreciate your input. I've heard some other people feel the same way...so I will put it out at my upcoming market and see how it does. thanks again xo
Great kiln unload, Sarah! On the french butter keeper (21:48) you asked, and my reply is I would not refire. It looks great as is. Really like what you've done with all of these new Spectrum floating glazes, but I just told myself, again, "NO MORE GLAZES!!! However, I would love to see more of the lighter colored ones on their own, especially the ginger. I've been playing with overglaze transfers lately and am loving the results. They are supposed to work best on lighter colored glazes. So far have only used them on a honey flux/river birch combo, which works great, but looking to find another good background for them. Thanks to Lisa @ Finkle Pottery & Audrey @ Audrey Lynn Studios for the ideas! Thank you so much for sharing your awesome results! Always looking forward to your next video - Cheers!
THANK YOU soooooo much Joanna!! you are the 3 person to say do not refire! I will accept your suggestion...thank you! HAHAHA us potters have serious glaze addictions! I do have some great ideas for the Ginger, I ordered a few more bottles as I was that impressed with it. I want to play with some of the older Floating glazes with the new ones...🤔haha!! Yes Audrey and Lisa have some amazing ideas and combos!! xo
Instead of the ware repair I recommend bisque fix. It’s a bit expensive (for me as a grad student) but I’ve never had problems with glaze not sticking to it! I will say though it does dry kinda rough so I recommend a little sanding before glaze. Only problem I have ever had was a bit of a matte spot where the bisque fix was. (Also all of your work is gorgeous 💕)
I love the clear crack fix. Looks like you had too much on top of crack. Wipe all off clay near crack. Just have product in crack. Then paint glaze over when it’s full dry. Make sure crack is filled to top.
Hi Perry! Thanks for this...I re-bisqued before I added the glaze 😬 so from what you are telling me I should have just added glaze right on top (once dry) and then straight to glaze fired, right?? 🤯😵💫
There’s a product called bisque fix and it works really well. You sometimes do see the repair. I’ve learned to sand it down a little and make it smooth. Then glaze over it.
Thanks Heidi!! I had put it in my cart but changed my mind bcuz of the price...Kinda wish I had splurged, it funny how i decided to be frugal on that product yet spend so much on everything else 🤪 I was given a few pointers in some of the other comments with the Mr Marks so i will give it a go and see if it was just user error on my part..haha. live and learn! 🥰
Thank you so much Brant!! So I add AH to my wax. I use a ratio of about 2 tbsp to a cup of wax. I also add some food colouring so I can easily identify which of my waxes has the AH. It really doesnt seem like you are adding a lot but all you need is a thin layer between you piece and the kiln shelf. Too much AH can blow around in your kiln so be mindful of that! cheers! xo
Hello from your neighbour in Port Hope. Everything turned out beautiful! Love the big pink bowl and the mug at the end. Love your energy and style. Thanks for posting! P.s Hi Shawn!
I tried Amaco's Bisque Fix on similar cracks, it works great if you top it off with a layer of glaze as usual, the instructions say the same thing. Apply a thick coat, polish until smooth, cover with glaze and it worked fine!
Can't get alot of the new colour's in nz 😢 love love your kiln unload..u mentioned u can put something in the wax to help stop warping etc? How much do you add to the wax? 🎉
Firstly, Thank you!! as for the wax trick, I add about 2 tbsp to a ¾-1 cup of wax. I then add some food colouring so I can easily identify where I've place it. You really don't need to have a lot of the AH just a thin layer.. xo
Loved all of these! And I love your videos. I’m a beginner 😊 my question is, and maybe you’ve done a video before but I haven’t come across it yet- how do I glaze heavy for drippy mixing glazes and get close to the bottoms of my mugs? Or if I’m doing something I want completely glazed, without glueing it to a shelf or support?
Now that’s a difficult question! When going for a drippy look, having it run off your pot and onto you kiln shelf is inevitable. Now, once you begin to learn how glazes react with you clay and firing schedule makes all the difference. I wish I had a black and white answer for you but that’s just not the way with ceramics. Too many variables 😵💫🤣. Most potters leave ample room for glazes to move if they are dealing with glazes that are designed to run. It’s all a gamble in the kiln. We never really know what’s going to happen, hence the excitement when things turn out!
Hi Sarah! I love, love, love your pottery and your energy! I know you’ve given details on your slow cool schedule, but would you mind sharing again? Thank you!
Hi Wendy!! Thank you so much!! As for the Slow cool fire what info would you like?? In my Kiln Opening with the Pumpkin as my Thumbnail, I show the actual schedule I use…it’s AMAZING!! Try it if you can!! 🥰
Hello! nope you didn't miss it! I use approx 2 tbsp to a cup of wax. it's doesn't have to be exact but thats about the ratio that i use. I also add some food colouring so that I don't mix up my waxes and i can see where I put it. Thanks for watching! xo
Love the sign Sarah! When did you get that??? Am I just obtuse and didn't notice? If so, it's because I was dazzled by your beautiful pots. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! 😁 How cool is that, you got go meet some of your peeps, AND take a tour of Tuckers! Hubby's waiting on me, so I've got to run, but I'll watch the rest later!

Thanks so much Betty! I had in my cart but you're right.. the price was what turned me off, I went with this one as it had good reviews...I've been given some advise which I will try and if that doesn't work I'll be buying the bisque fix. 🥰
I’m so sorry that mug did that with the Mr Marx. It says that it’s supposed to be used to fix broken pieces and put them back together. It doesn’t say it’s for cracks which is odd bc you’d think it would work for both. Did you wipe away the excess? I’ve found that making my own paper clay has worked the absolute best. I make it for each clay body and keep it in an airtight container so it’s all ready for any cracks I may get.
Great idea Michele! I will make some paper clay for future use. I was fortunate to receive some additional guidance on the Mr. Marks and I will give it a go, i'm sure it was user error on my part. If I figure out how to use it properly I will pass it along. Thank you for always being there for me...offering advise, and suggestions...I just love this community and all the sharing that goes on! 🥰
@@SarahWaltonPottery Oh Sarah you are so welcome! It’s so true this really is the best community isn’t it? I don’t know what I’d do without it!! I’m glad you’re going to try the paper clay. I found that when there’s a crack if I use a brush to apply the clay to it and then burnish the paper clay into the crack it works perfectly EVERY single time! Since I started really pressing the clay into the crack and using the end of a brush to go over it a bunch it’s worked! And yes please let us know what Mr Marx said and if it works.
Sarah, I finally had a chance to watch the rest. I agree, the pumpkin is the star of the load! But there are so many beautiful pieces. Now I've got to get the sampler pack. Darn! Oh, well, it's only money, right?! LOL Love your energy. See you soon! I'll hit you up on Insta to plan the Zoom wine and mud event!

Thank you so much KIM!! I see we are thinking the same...I saw you made some pumpkins too!! Perfect for this time of year and I though, perfect to play with glazes. I've got more in my studio waiting for bisque, so some new combos coming soon!! Love what you did with the new Spectrum glazes too! 🥰
Love your kiln opening ❤gorgeous pieces! I’m gonna have to try throwing a butter keeper 😊inspired!!

Gorgeous kiln unload! Can’t wait to try the spectrum floating glazes!
Thank you Lorelie!!...YOU ARE GONNA LOVE THEM!! xo
Oh my gosh Sarah, your new glaze combos are stunning! Thank you for the shoutout, I’m so glad the alumina hydrate is working for you! The pumpkin is also one of my favorites, but I also loved the large bowl and the blue mugs. It’s hard to pick a favorite. I will re-watch tomorrow!🤩❤️
Thank you so much Ana!!! it means the world to me as you are such a talented artist! xo These new glazes are sooo gorgeous that its difficult to decide which ones to use where! haha I can't wait to see what you do with them!
@@SarahWaltonPottery I just ordered a few but the bougainvillea, sunrise and papaya were sold out.😩
Second spoon rest is pretty too! That pumpkin is SO cute! Beautiful! Damn plucking! Man that Bougainvillea and Shallot/Ginger😮…Gorg..gotta get these glazes! I love the triple spiral texture too. We are so on point. Oh! so Spanish moss does a Hot Chowder kind of result too! Love that bowl, great job.
🥰🥰🥰 I am super thrilled with the pumpkin! Kiln Gods were super kind to me!!! You won't be disappointed with any of these glazes!! Let me know which ones you pick up! I can't wait to see what you do with them!
@@SarahWaltonPottery I finally got a sample pack but I ordered a few that were in stock on the pints too. The floating turquoise and fuzzy peach and ginger. All the links were out of stock😕. Hey I also ordered Lunar Pink by Amaco…looks amazing. Have you seen it! It must be new, I’ve never seen it before. It’s a PHASE glaze
girl u left me hanging for a new video it has been long tho but hey I do love me a kiln unload 😂 😊. nice and gorg as usual
Thanks soo much g Toni! I know it was longer than i intended..summer time has more pull on my time than the rest of the year! Im soo grateful that you are still there when i do post. I’ve got some good stuff filmed..just need to edit! 🤭😘

I love your color combinations! These Spectrum glazes are magic in your hands! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Spectrum glazes are gorgeous and the way you combine them is even better 💜
Thank you sooo much Marie! I was super nervous as I didn't know how much they were going to flow or combine together, but like the other Floating series, they are super user friendly! 🥰
the glaze combination on the planter/cup at 19:50 of smoky gray and blue is especially lovely
Thank you!! I've filmed how I glazed it, so I will have to put it out! I've got some throwing to do and some other projects, but when they are in drying mode I will have to sit down to edit! 🥰
I’m always blown away at the beauty 🥰👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Robbie!
Did you do Hot chowder on the butter keeper…it gets that red edged result for me
Nope. I only used it on the bowl and the platter...it was soft red on the butter keeper.
Hey all! if you are watching...pop over to the live chat and say hello!
Great Kiln unload!!!!!
Thanks so much Tammy!
It had already been glazed before I refired so..I don’t know
Great to know. I’m in Australia so great to know thank you
I'm so pleased that i was able to give you and my Australian friends a suggestion of where to shop!! let me know what they are like so that I can continue to offer insight! xo

I find your channel incredibly helpful. I'm already looking forward to the upcoming videos 🥰🤗You are so wonderfully funny, uncomplicated and super easy to understand.
fantastic colors, incredible sparkle, was the pumpkin made in a mold?
Hi Lisa!! and WELCOME to my small and growing community!!! I'm so happy to hear that you enjoy my videos and your kind words are very encouraging to me!! xo The pumpkin is not a mold, I throw it on the wheel as a closed form and then add the details the next day. I've filmed a video and am mostly finished editing but am focused on my pop up market this Sunday, so I will finish editing next week and get it up...xo

Hi Sarah. Fabulous kiln reveal once again. I'm having spectacular results experimenting with colour combinations you suggest. These new glazes not available in NZ yet but can't wait to try them. Many many thanks for your help❤
Hi Pam!! Thank you sooo much! I'm so glad you're getting good results with the combos I share!! I will cross my fingers that the new glazes get to you soon...If you can believe...I already bought more🤭 🤣🥰

I love that result on the 608…it’s beautiful and I’m not much into reds lol
I'm still undecided...its really bright..I'll put in in my booth and let the customers decide, but I've heard in a few of the comments that its liked! 🤭

First time watch in , very impressed!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!! 🥰
Colours on pumpkin are amazing
Thank you Linda!! I'm still awe stuck when I look at it myself! It always impresses me when I pull a piece out of the kiln...the magic that happen inside just blows my mind! I have to do this one on a mug! what a happy cup of coffee that would be 🤔🤭😘
Super inspired to get to glazing and trying some of your combos! I don’t have any of the new Spectrum glazes yet but I think I’ll need to get some!! Hehe, /thank you 😊
You will LOVE THEM!! thanks so much for watching!! xo
I just got Louisiana Bayou and Autumn Purple. Both new to me. Can’t wait to try them out!
My favorite piece is the Bougainvillea and Fuzzy Peach on Speckled Clay spoon rest. I love love love that.
thanks so much Nora!
Yes Audrey and Lisa have some amazing ideas and combos!! xo
The pumpkin is gorgeous the glaze is lovely!
Thank you!! xo
That pumpkin is stunning , could you do a demo how you make your pumpkins 🎃?
Hi Shawn...I'm editing as we speak! xo
I love the fuzzy peach and bougainvillea on the speckled clay!
Thank you Roxy! It's growing on me...slowly! 🤭🥰
Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely have to try that out 🥰
Hey Sarah! Sorry I missed the live chat. Love my new mug!!!
Yay!! I'm soooo pleased to hear that your new mug made it safe and sound!! and that you love it!! 🥰 No Worries about the chat...next time! 😘
join the Chat ya'all!! I'd loove to hear from you!!
@@SarahWaltonPottery yes, it’s best to use under glaze since it’s clear.
There’s a product called bisque fix and it works really well. You sometimes do see the repair. I’ve learned to sand it down a little and make it smooth. Then glaze over it.
All your pieces are stunning and beautiful. I love the fuzzy peach on both
Thanks Heidi!! I had put it in my cart but changed my mind bcuz of the price...Kinda wish I had splurged, it funny how i decided to be frugal on that product yet spend so much on everything else 🤪
I was given a few pointers in some of the other comments with the Mr Marks so i will give it a go and see if it was just user error on my part..haha. live and learn! 🥰
Amazing work as always Sarah! I need to google the alumina hydrate wax. Always learning something new from your videos!
Thank you so very much...neighbour😘!! I'm glad you liked it...I know I get super excited 🤪🤣🥰 xo
I tried Amaco's Bisque Fix on similar cracks, it works great if you top it off with a layer of glaze as usual, the instructions say the same thing. Apply a thick coat, polish until smooth, cover with glaze and it worked fine!
Thank you for this!! I’m going to get me a bottle! 🥰
Just seeing this on my phone, going inside to watch on The Big Screen!!! 🎊 🎉yay!!
Hi Star!!! I hope you like it! 🥰
What kiln firing schedule do you use for the spectrum floating glazes?
Hi Toni! It's posted in this video within the first 5 min. hope that helps!
Hello from Istanbul , I love your energy 🥰
Thank YOU!!! 🥰
Not sure if I missed it… how much of the aluminum do you add to the wax resist? Thanks
Hello! nope you didn't miss it! I use approx 2 tbsp to a cup of wax. it's doesn't have to be exact but thats about the ratio that i use. I also add some food colouring so that I don't mix up my waxes and i can see where I put it. Thanks for watching! xo
I was wondering if you could use a dried green ware cookie in a glaze firing?
Hi Judith…yes! You can absolutely hard fire a greenware cookie! I’ve done it many times, just make sure it’s absolutely bone dry..🥰
@@SarahWaltonPottery Thank you, I appreciate you and your channel. Always informative and fun to watch.

Amaco bisque fix is expensive as F but has worked the best for me on both greenware and bisque, fires white up to cone 10 😊
You know I just realized I didn’t even finish watching the video!! lol. I knew my comment was too short! Hahaha
