I'm shocked that the idea of a Jeb Bush movie actually makes sense and seems watchable. I'd especially love to see the moment when Jeb realizes that, while his brother is president, he's one of the most hated and laughed-at presidents in US history. George might even confide in Jeb and Jeb, while comforting his brother, would derive a kind of sick satisfaction at seeing his brother, for the first time, fail.

It’s like the relationship between chuck and Jimmy In better call Saul they both have a brotherly bond but they also have unrepairable animosity towards each other that poisons their relationship so even moments of vulnerability is seen as weakness that they can derive some pleasure from. Jeb probably also thought that George was a fraud and not a proper politician, he’s chuck, bush is Jimmy charismatic but incredibly shady and kind of dumb but he is inexplicably successful.

My suggestion for what i think would be a cool pitch wars, I wanna hear both you guys pitch a video game to movie adaptation, since Hollywood hasn't given us anything great there. Each pick your own game and how it should be adapted, i think it would make for a cool video.

I got a pitch. It's a film about the most Amazing man who ever lived. He started as a humble UA-camr who rose to great heights with his balls out approach to making videos, and his Devil-may-care personality. He has his ups, and he has his downs, but in the end he rises above the fray and Makes his mark on the World.
I call it: Fear the Roo, The Devon Tracy Story.

how about it's a biopic of Jesus but TJ plays Jesus. He doesn't heal the sick or preach the word of God, he just sits there all fat and bored and complains about how much the desert sucks. Nevertheless, everyone still treats him like he's the messiah and act like everything he does is profound and meaningful. Eventually he is crucified but it's not that big of a deal, and when he dies he goes to hell and gets a job working in middle management. The movie is 3 hours long, not counting intermission, and is directed by Mel Gibson.

Film starts as a camera crew prepares to film Satoru Iwata for what will ultimately be his last Nintendo Direct. We aren't informed it's him initially, but from his gaunt and pale appearance, it's clear he's not in good health. As filming for the Direct begins, the title of the film is revealed, "We Would Like to Play", named after the ad campaign for the Wii. The film would then begin directly at the moment where Iwata begins working for games at Nintendo as a programmer, working extensively on the early Pokemon games, ensuring their localization, as well as his skill. We see him climb Nintendo's ladder, as he begins fixing the issues with the company, and begins working with other Nintendo alumni to put the company back on track with the release of the Nintendo DS, as well as his philosophy of making fun games instead of trying to one up his competitors in graphics. From time to time, we get cut aways with Iwata in the present after the opening scene, as his health declines, sales of the Wii U looking dour, and the tumour in his bile duct continues to cause health problems, up until finally both the events in the past come to the point where Iwata, and the audience learn he has the tumour. The last twenty minutes of the movie is Iwata planning for the Switch and Pokemon GO, even doing so from his hospital bed, as he speaks with friends and colleagues about the future of Nintendo. The film ends with Iwata passing away, getting out of his hospital bed, and heading out into the streets. Iwata is followed by a growing crowd of people of all different nationalities, as in the middle of street, he sets up a TV and a Nintendo console, hands controllers to people, and do what Iwata believed everyone could do: play video games.
Sappy, maybe, but I think a film on Iwata could be done.

My pitch for a biopic opens up with a shot of a middle-aged man in 1970's Manhattan, New York entering his apartment building and we follow him up a few flights of stairs to his apartment where he begins to go about his average day when he hears the phone ring and he picks it up and we only hear his part of the conversation, "No I haven't heard from Bill today...okay, okay, I'll go check on him for you...right, got it, I'll make sure he knows.." He gets off the phone and we see him leave his apartment to go up another flight of stairs and walk toward a door with a few eviction notices on it and he knocks first with no answer so he takes out his spare key and begins to insert it into the lock and as he turns the key we hear a click and the screen goes black. We hear a conversation between two men as the screen starts to fade back into color and we are told through expository dialogue between the two characters that it is 1939 and one of the men talking is named Bob Kane and they're having a conversation about the creators of Superman and how they're making upwards of $800 a week off of their comic books and we see and the conversation ends with the other man telling Bob that if he could bring him a superhero then he too could probably make that much money and then we see this shot end with Bob sitting alone, an intent look on his face, seemingly formulating a plot. We then see Bob in his apartment, sitting at his desk drawing away, we lots of papers strewn about, sort of the derivative troubled artist kind of vibe and we watch the camera zoom in on his back and then pan over his head and we see a full shot of his drawing, a man in a red outfit with big bat-like wings and a domino mask and suddenly Bob stops drawing and we get a look at his face, he is very clearly not satisfied with what he has drawn but looks tired and at his wits-end. He turns around and picks up the phone and dials a number and we hear him talking to a man named Bill and asking him to come over and give his input on the design for a character he was working on. We see a cut to a young man standing at an apartment door and as he knocks on it the door opens to reveal Bob, who welcomes his friend Bill and wants to get right down to business so he ushers Bill in to look at the drawing and then together they get to work on creating a new concept and we see the original design of the Bat-Man from Detective Comics as the final result. The rest of the film follows key points in the careers of Bob Kane and Bill Finger as Bill watches Bob continue to gain fame and popularity as he only bills himself for the Bat-Man comics and Bill plummets into obscurity and pennilessness as he never gets the credit he is due for the Bat-Man designs, stories or characters. It hits key points such as when Bill made his first and only Comic-Con appearance and the first and only time he ever gets top billing on a Bat-Man story with 1960's television show and we see Bob living the life of a celebrity at pretty much all points. This will be the bulk of the film up until we see Bob and Bill having a conversation with each other in 1972 as old men, we don't see a bitter or hateful Bill but rather a defeated and disappointed Bill. As Bob gets up to leave we see Bill left alone, seemingly pondering what just transpired and the screen fades to black and we hear the click from the opening scene. We see the old man from the beginning open the door to a dark room with a static-filled television and a figure on spring bed with a blanket pulled over it, the man calls to Bill but with no answer and he walks forward to pull the blanket off of him, still to no response. He tries to shake him awake, feels for his pulse and feels nothing and at this point the man realizes that Bill has died, penniless and alone. Fade to black one more time as we go to an interview with Bob Kane as he is writing his autobiography and the last thing we hear Bob say is "If I could go back in time, fifteen years then I would say to Bill...I would say, listen, I'm going to put your name on it finally...it is time...you've earned it." The screen fades to the Bat-Man logo with Bill written across it in the sharp WB style font and below that appears the title of the film, "The Man In The Cowl"
That's my pitch for a biopic, I'm sure TJ and Paul will shit all over it but I just had to throw it out there. Also, my vote goes to King, it would really hit me emotionally as Stephen is a very important writer to me.

We follow a set a feet walking on a marble floor (because T.J. doesn't like it). The front set are considerably larger then the ones in the back. The camera pans, as we see the large set walk past a bed. Bloody rags on the floor next to it. The large set turns and faces the bed. As the camera backs off we see a couple of men and woman franticly giving aid to a child on the bed as more bloody rags are replaced with fresh ones. As the camera backs off further we see the large tall figure with long black hair looking down at the child. A few minutes goes by with the large man not saying a word. As quietly as he entered he walks out of the room. A woman runs from the door way to the child's aid. He beings to walk back through the hallway passing a fancy dressed man. As he gets further away we hear the woman in the room yell. "The bleeding has stopped. He saved our boy!" The fancy man turns to face the large mans back "Thank you Father Grigori. Thank you so much." Still not saying a word and walking down the hallway the camera pans around the large man. Bushy beard like yours Paul but not as kept. With glaring ice blue eyes staring straight a head. The screen dims to black with Rasputin in white fading in. We follow his erotic, drugged party life to his gruesome and fantastic assassination.

    @BrendanDevlin94 6 років тому +4

Paul, I would have liked to include more about Jeb Bush not only living in the eternal long-cast shadow of his brother George, but also the comical and intriguing detail that this particular brother was a total fucking idiot. Again and again his brother shows all the signs that he does in fact have the I.Q. of a particularly cunning sheepdog. Yet, to Jeb's amazement, chagrin and eventual twisted, festering resentment, he out-competes his younger brother at every turn that counts, purely due to his family's - and later wider society's - seemingly inexplicable predisposition to favor him. We add the embellishment that Jeb is seeing one of the US's top psychiatrist, with unorthodox techniques such as using George W. bobbleheads as a visualisation tool, and also the use of watercolour painting as a theraputic tool (George W. later even bests him at this thanks to developing his now famous painting hobby - critics proclaim the childlike innocence of GW's paintings, which drives Jeb to the brink of mental breakdown).
The climax to this particular angle of the story, as you may have guessed, is the arrival of a new competitor into Jeb's life. The clown, moron, man-child that is Donald J. Trump. A strange mix of political intrigue, pantomime theater, and "low energy" Jeb's increasingly psychedelic mental anguish culminate in Trump's election as leader of the free world.

The first shot is a wide shot at a funeral. The camera cuts to a familiar looking mustache. The owner of the mustache then says "I don't think I shall ever love again." Then it cuts to the title "Hammer and Sickle". Then it cuts to the same mustache but a bit less well kept. The camera zooms out to reveal the face of a younger Joseph Stalin beside his comrades Lenin and Trotsky. A good amount of the film is based upon the February and October revolutions of 1917 where Russia was turned into a communist state. Throughout the movie are flashbacks where Stalin recounts getting battered by his drunk, working class dad and being forced to become a priest. There will be multiple battle scenes where Trotsky leads the Red army to take of Russia. Lenin grows rather fond of Trotsky and gradually realizes how insane Stalin is. Stalin is very much upset about this. It cuts to Lenin on his death bed. Stalin knows Lenin would make Trotsky the leader of the new Soviet Union so after Lenin dies Stalin exiles Trotsky. Trotsky goes to Mexico and remains a prominent communist figure so Stalin has him executed. During this portion of the film Stalin has flashbacks of his wife dying, the funeral, him kidnapping and killing his wife's family, his son falling in love with a Jew (which made Stalin upset), and his son trying and failing to kill himself with a gun (which made Stalin unhappy he notably said "The boy can't even shoot straight" he didn't pity his son). It then cuts to 1945, Stalin is standing in his office, starring out of his window. A woman comes up to him and says "We've made it to Berlin." Stalin responses simply with "Good." The end.

My pitch: The Life and Times of Kevin James. A man with a simple gift of fat-man comedy uses his wit, daring, and raw comedic prowess to grind his way into the hearts and homes of America's sitcom connoisseurs, eventually parlaying his success into feature-film stardom as the leading man in such commercially successful films as Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. Think 8 Mile meets Beverly Hills Ninja

These both are actually pretty good ideas. I like the Stephen King one, especially.

The scene opens in a bathroom to a young woman fueled by sheer terror and absolute fear, frantically fidgeting with what is soon revealed as the Lament Configuration trying desperately to get it open. She keeps at it until she solves the puzzle and while the box begins to open she quickly looks into the mirror and says, "Candy Man, candy man, candy man, candy man, candy man!" To her certainty Candy Man does appear directly behind her slowly raising his bloody hook and speaks his famous line, "Be my victim." Before he can bring his hook down upon the young girl a hooked chain comes from the darkness catching him and spinning him around he sees from out of the shadows Pinhead and a entourage of Cenobites. The girl knowing she had succeeded runs offs screen and Pinhead gives a nod to his Cenobites to follow and they do. Pinhead steps forward, "Daniel Robitaille, shall we play?"

Think you went a little too far with the ending of Please Clap, Paul. Should have just ended with Jeb in the tap shoes standing in an empty theater. The last part with him actually dancing in the outfit from the beginning is too funny for such a serious movie. Really good pitches from both of you though.

Paul's pitch reminds me of an indie-comedy, something like the Cohen Brothers would make. I can see an old fat guy dressed up in that outfit and tapping on stage. It's supposed to be funny in the trailer, but when you actually see it, it's really uncomfortable. Paul's idea seems to be more of a character-driven story. I like Stephen King, but TJ's pitch sounds like it would just be an endless stream of callbacks and easter-eggs ("Hey, remember Carrie? Pennywise? Cujo?") rather than a movie that explores King's life. Paul wins.

I want to hear pitches for a crossover between two franchises that you'd each like to see.

KING, however, the whole Bachman saga wasn't until later, when King felt that he had built too strong of a brand and wasn't being read for his work but his name. Also, check out Revival, it's a good new one and his son, Joe Hill does good work, NOS4A2, especially. Good job guys.

Damn I think these are your finest pitches yet. Jeb Bush was a tough sale well made and King is a very rich and layered concept that can be taken in many different directions. I think I'm going with King because it has so many layers whereas Please Clap is more of a simple concept that can get very emotional. Overall I think King makes for a more entertaining and deeper movie, Please clap is a little to lacrymogenous for me to pick over something that has pennywise representing stephen king's turbulent life saying goodbye and taking both glory and sorrow leaving him kind of dull. It begs the question of wether old age has value to it when being young is just so much more intense and focused.

If Tj had a better concept for the integration of the book characters I would have voted for his but Paul's pitch was solid all the way threw and I think has much more interesting themes. Tj's ideas for the flashback concepts and stuff was pretty great tho.
