Officially the best fishing channel on youtube right here folks, also, glad i could make you laugh yesterday norm 🤜🏼🤛🏼 cant wait for the next one tomorrow
Awesome video.thank you for the videos I know how much work goes into making content. But during this covid time you guys are so important, you keep so many people entertained while having to stay home .so thank you so much for the hard work .
Put the line between your thumb and forefinger of your left hand while holding the foregrip of the rod. You want to feel the line rather than the rod anyway. Those old bag worms are from someone's old tackle box. The old ring worms are called french fry worms. They were mostly used on carolina rigs.
Seeing norm get so hyped to get special color trick worms and antique lures put smile on my face kids got real passion for fishing man I'm the same way when I go shopping for tackle
I still have my great grandads fishing rod (it’s a spinning reel) but it is so old that my dad won’t even let me fish with it! It’s crazy to see how much fishing has changed!
BUY IT ALL!!!!! 😂👍👍 Eagle Claw makes what is called the "Wolf River Rig". I don't know if you have them in the south. The red and white spoon is called a Dardevil. If there's not a little black devil in black paint on the white part, it's a copy. Don't bother with the copies. They don't wiggle right. Gotta get a real one!! I fish all game fish with a dardevil. Good lure!!! 👍👍
Lol. I have a hardware store 12 miles from me that is similar to this store. Every time I go in I always find something different I haven't seen before. Lmao
Who remembers fishing as a kid with a zebco and when its doesn't cast good dunk it in the water until it stops bubbling, pull it out and it works like a charm 😂
I had a Zebco 6000 series gold spinning reel I used for about 10 years. It broke in the back of my truck one day. I miss that reel. Used to have it on a Kunnan boron rod. Caught my first 5 lber on that setup.
Hey I fished with a lot of the lures you found, especially the red and white Dare Devil spoon. Took me back a bit before you were born, I'm 60yrs old. The Zebco 33 classic reel has been around for quite a few yrs. Don't know when they started making the, but as a young teenager and into my twenties it was a mainstay in my fishing arsenal. Definitely a good one for catfishing, makes me smile 😁 ❗Loved the video ❗Go back to that bait store and get some more ❗😁🐟🐟🐟🐟🤘
Hah awesome vid my grandfather gave me some old tackle boxes and jigging rods I keep telling my friends we gatta do a lil competition with whatever random tackle is in the boxes
You’re not crazy for getting excited over those nice unusual lures!! I’m the exact same way when I enter a store like that and I’m literally like a four year old in an all you can eat candy store!! I always wanna buy everything my eyes lay on!!! I love classic fishing tackle!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Cotten Candy used to be a really popular color that my father used as a “secret weapon” during bass tournaments. Then the color became almost impossible to find in Maine...great find!
I have lots of old lures from my childhood. I have carved out imitations of them from basswood. It is a thrill to catch a fish on a replica you carved out yourself. To find old lures your best bet is to go to antique stores and especially ones located near a lake. I have bought several lures and a couple of reals from the antique shop in my town. If you are really lucky you might find some at yard sales. I still have tons of old Manns Jelly Worms from the 70's. I like to use one once in a while just for the memories.
I live using my old zebco 33. Its probably 35 years old and have caught over a hundred catfish with it. The biggest one I caught with it was a 38 pound catfish with some braid on it. Had to finesse it in. Good luck brother. Keep trying the 33. You might try greasing it up. They are like tanks. I have taken it bass fishing and caught some 6 and 7 pounders with 12 pound test. Thats in North Central Texas.
A piece of advise..... anytime you buy an old spin cast reel that has line on it, the line has sat so long it has the memory of the spool. The best thing to do is take a few minutes to pull the line off and just spool up maybe 50 yards of some cheap mono and it will make the experience so much better. The reels you guys struggle with have been used flawlessly for decades. For the Rod lol, if you’ll push it together with pressure it will not come apart, as a matter of fact it’s difficult to pull apart without twisting it off of you seat it together.
You absolutely Kill me when you say the 1990’s..like it was 409 years ago..🤣🤣🤣🤣 of course, I graduated high school in 1990, but cmon man, it wasnt that long ago! Lol
I’ve caught a 20b. Catfish on an old Zebco. Eleven years is not very old. I’ve fished with gear from the 70s and lures from the 40s and 50s. They caught fish back then, so they do work. Try fishing with lures from before soft plastics were even a thing. I found a bunch of really old stuff at a yard sale. These lures were made from wood and metal. If you want really old stuff go to yard sales. I found a Roland Martin spinner bait from the early 70s. It was really heavy, but it caught fish.
Dude that combo is the bomb no joke. I love old vintage stuff if you ever get rid of that reel I'd love it. In fact it would make an awesome gift for a friend who only fishes with zebco reels and vintage one's at that. He's got reels older than me he still uses.
Cool video! We might not have to many bass pros or any academies but we do have quit a few old fishing shops like this around Ohio and Pennsylvania lol
I looked through my grandpas tackle box from around 1940-1950. I compared it to my tackle box, and most of the things were completely different, coolest thing I found was an Abu Garcia abumatic and my grandpa said it was from like 1972.
I love watching your videos because you can fish on open water year round well down here in Canada we have to go sit and freeze on the lake if we want to fish 😂
When you don't know it's day 11 lol. What should we do next!

Those ringed worms are made by lake fork lures and they still make them

Those were some nice fish norm
Btw mimic minnows are still made today ( they’re not very old) and you can get them on tackle warehouse...
I'm old, almost 50 ive seen those worms. We loved the cotton candy worms growing up
I love how Norm forgot to mention that Larry was in the video ! Lol awesome video either way.
A lot of those colors and the mimic minnow, as well as a northland tackle in general, are common and readily available up here in Michigan...
Shout out to norm for the banger vids lol i think that reel is a old 33 classic just oil it up it'll be fine
Love the vids they are so fire 🔥 🔥

I looked through my grandpas tackle box from around 1940-1950. I compared it to my tackle box, and most of the things were completely different, coolest thing I found was an Abu Garcia abumatic and my grandpa said it was from like 1972.
