Can We Beat Mega Man Battle Network Using ONLY Bomb Chips?

- Опубліковано 7 вер 2024
- Mega Man Battle Network is a mechanically complex Action RPG for the GameBoy Advance, famous for its combat system and the variety in attacks you can perform, through the wide selection of battle chips at your disposal. However, just how hard can the game be, if we use one of the most unwieldly types of chips in the game? Watch and see, as we try and blast through the game using only bomb chips!

The slash from life virus isnt like the life sword, it is the life sword. It's in the name. Life sword is a life virus callback.
huh, I never thought about it that way
awesome trivia
It looks more like a clock swipe than a sword, so it's easy to miss
@inconemay1441 The sound effect is pretty much identical if not similar. The name of the PA matches in each language, too (Dream Virus and Dream Sword in Japan vs. Life Virus and Life Sword in USA).
This guy is clearly auditioning to be Bombman's operator.
If only you knew that you can still get over NumberMan's bombs by moving at the right time...
I get where you're coming from, so I went ahead and extensively tested walking through the TimeBomb/DiceBomb blast like it were Gaia's hammer strike or LifeVirus's meteors.
After attempting it upwards to around 50 times, I've come to the conclusion that it's *way* too frame-perfect to rely on consistently, especially in a fight where I'm seeing several of those in a full run of the boss.
Man this is great the mbtn fans are eating well this days! I love it
I was expecting the gigabomb prog advance to show up at some point, you managed to exceed my expectations.
Bombs, you want it? It's yours, my friend.
If only you waited till the legacy collection to test this. One of the patches lets you replace your buster with mini bomb too lol
But he's playing bn1 not 4,5, or 6
@@thewisegnomeman1260 modders are already having a field day with this collection lol
When I saw this video's title, I was thinking about the "Treebomb+Prism" glitch that can delete any enemy within seconds, but then I remembered that was a BN2 glitch. This first game's notable glitch lets you skip the final boss and warp to the ending cutscene, but unlike the Treebomb Prism glitch, it's entirely patched out of the Legacy Collection.
The Battle Network Challenge content I never knew I needed.
More please :D
I've watched this probably 10 times now. I definitely need more challenges like this!
Flappy3s were always super annoying in MMBN1. I actually did a somewhat similar thing to this challenge, though not solely bomb chips-I did run 10 copies of big bomb since it was relatively easy to get enough for a full C code of them to stack with other C good C code chips
for other challenges-it could be need to see challenges in MMBN1 or other MMBN games using families of chips, like the various sword chips only or only the tower chips or chips similar to those (allowing for healing chips though, to help reduce the tedium of the run and give a little bit of sanity back)
Yoooo MM BN challenges is such a cool idea
This is a great video!! I've never played the Battle Network games but you kept me entertained and intrigued the whole time!!!
I am now subscribed B)
Watching. Waiting.
Lol good video my guy, may Numberman show you mercy.
i hope to see more videos like this in the future with others bn games
The Megaman Network Transmission tracks in this video go pretty hard.
Folder that i used: 10x Big bomb - B, 5x Bombman v3 and the rest of it where hero's swords and invis chips.
Definitely wanna see more megaman content!
YES, YES I NEEEEED MORE BATTLE NETWORK CHALLENGE VIDEOS
Very cool challenge, reminds me a bit of Create Corporation' videos which i'm sure served as inspiration here. Unfortunatelly i'm not sure this challenge is possible in any other game of the series because of the higher restriction on repeated chips in your folder. Still I would love to see more content from BN because as a very old fan of the series i am VERY thirty.
Also even if there were enough bomb chips to make the challenge doable in BN2, i'm pretty sure it's impossible in that game because there are mandatory battles against the shadow virus, which can only be damaged by sword chips.
Another ideia is to maybe try all the v3 bosses and bass with the same rules. After your comment about numbermanV3 I got curious to see how that would shape out.
What I always had in mind is a "cool guy" version of this. In BN4 There's a chip call counter, it can attack anywhere on the field the only downside is that it will only attack if you activate it during the timing that you can counter & stun the enemies. So in short if you able to do this, except for the 1st "counter" you'll be playing at full synchro and dealing double damage all game long.
But given that it is BN4 where you have to play NG+ to get counter 2/3, you can't even build the folder on the 1st playthrough unless you trade those chips
Definitely more Megaman content. Great video as well
Well done! Great commentary and editing
Hey, thanks- -I appreciate it!
Your Buster-only vids for BN1-3 were definitely a major inspiration for me to do a bomb-only challenge run. ^_^
Excellent challenge run and excellent video. Subbed!
Given what I have seen of the rushed abominations that both versions of _BN4_ are due to watching RoahmMythril suffer through them, the only ways I can explain those supposedly true sales numbers are combining both versions' sales *and* being before Internet reviews were around to really ravage it. That and/or people were just *that* desperate for anything _BN3_ even if what they got was two different monkey's paws, which is shades of _X6_ (and that _Mighty No. 9_ scam) really.
Anyway, good job with actually beating the early game without outright cheating. Rather funny that innocent, normally harmless Numberman.Exe is at least the second hardest boss in the game using this restriction and yet Bombman.Exe isn't even noteworthy.
Holy shit N this video is really good
I look forward to the future torture with MMBN 2-6
There ain't no way he ballin'
If your movement is PERFECT, it is possible to dodge things like the walking explosions from NumberMan and Gaia attacks. Good luck.
You watch this channel? You are now legally obligated to buy Battle Network Legacey collection!
That shit had me dying.
Meanwhile I’m waiting for my copy to arrive.
“What flavor is it?”
“BOMB!”
I personally would love to see you do a similar challenge, but instead of bombs, you only use Chips that have no printed attack power, not even ???.
I never even knew Numberman had more than one attack. The things you learn on challenge runs!
Love the concept! Still watching, great video so far! 👍
Giving a whole new meaning to the Blue Bomber
Hey man, this is a great video.
I have a suggestion for a challenge that may or may not be pain.
Can you beat MMBN Battlechip Challenge “normally”.
You can only use neutral element chips, and Normal Navis. You can use whatever character to start, but you need to rush getting a normal Navi chip and once you get one, they are the only ones you can use.
Wonderful video, dropped a sub so that I can tune in for more Mega Man and Yu-Gi-Oh videos!
you should try battle network 2 but allow your self to hack in enough bombs to fill the folder if needed
Your videos are cool, zubz!fioed
*I MEAN SUBSCRIPED
I made a joke about this to a friend, saying i should make a "mini boomer deck and say "shut up boomer" as I use it" and here you did just that, you mad lad
interesting challenge, i'd like to see some more with other kinds of chips!
A very fun video! Slight question why you didn't try and use the bomb program advances, but clearly they weren't necessary lol
Yeah, I honestly just forgot about the P-As. Lol
morshu would be happy to see that
Parabéns pela sua paciência. Sério, seu último nome é resiliência
My favorite part was when you used a Bomb chip
This video was the Bomb! I was having a Blast watching it! I hope you don't Mine all the Bomb Puns , as those with a short Fuse are known to Explode.
Continue doing videos like this, and who knows, one day this channel might just Blow Up! I sure did get a ton of Bang for my buck!
Thank you! It's comments like this that really ignite joy in me to read. I can't guarantee every video will go out with a bang, but I'll try not to fizzle out with a dud as best I can. (:
Someone might have said this before in the comments (but I can't find it) but when i was playing mmbn, I started to mess around with the chip machines (Mr. Hisby shop) and I got a chip called "Btr Bomb" it's like"Btr sword" except you use mini bombs and its somewhat "good" but I have a hard time with it, I was thinking maybe you could try to get it (But probably not until after beating NumberMan and StoneMan) It might help in future challenges.
Very sorry, late comment, I was thinking it might be a good idea?
Btw, the chances of getting it are kinda hard, I got first try with the red machine that you can use 3 chips to trade for 1.
I mention it at around 2 minutes into the video, along with the other bomb-related chips.
Because the properties are very different than the main 3 (Changing the buster itself into a minibomb launcher, rather than just directly tossing a bomb), I avoided using it for the challenge.
@@StupidStudiosN ohhhhhhhh, right.
Sorry, I guess wasn't paying much attention... (man, I'm stupid)
Sorry, for wasting your time, I honestly need to pay attention before commenting this...
Hey, to forget I even typed this entire length comment, how about I subscribe? Deal?
@LiLSinistar420 Hey man, no worries! Just happy to still get comments on this vid.
@@MegaMan.exe20XX I'll sweeten the pot by promising more BN content in the future. Otherwise, sounds good to me. (:
I like the part where everything blew up 👍
Maybe you could try challenging another game in the series with what you could consider megaman's natural moveset
You could also got some bomb chips from the one shop in the first area
In Internet 1? Shop doesn't sell bombs.
@@StupidStudiosN I could have sworn at the bottom of the shop there was a bomb chip.
@@trappx2 Yeah nah. Unfortunately not.
www.therockmanexezone.com/wiki/Internet_1_(MMBN1)
@@StupidStudiosN I mixed it up with cannon C lol
Find it funny i got this video because I started fighting bosses with mostly big bombs and ftr hero etc swords.
Nice video :)
Would non-bomb throwing chips like Quake, Shake, Cannonball, or Geyser be permitted if you do this challenge in future games?
Maybe! If I do this sort of thing with BN2-6, it really all depends on what I'm comfortable with allowing, without compromising too heavily.
@@StupidStudiosN Only being locked to 5 of the same chip in 2 (4 in 3 onwards) will effectively force you to diversify. AquaSoul and ToadSoul with Geyser chips will make 4 and 5 a breeze though.
Cannonball and quake i would permit. Not shake or geyser
Hmm... shouldn't you have the access to dex pc without having his p-code ? I mean if you can grind the lilbomb there, then its technically possible without chip trading. Also, you may be missing the pa lil+cros+big bomb since its considered a thrown object, it should be fine to use.
You cannot access his PC until after the Numberman scenario since he's not there before Fireman or numberman. So yea, you HAVE to trade a minibomb over to complete this challenge.
Like kemix mentioned, you have to beat FireMan's scenario before being able to access Dex's PC, as the door to his house is locked before that point.
As for the Beta Bomb PA, I probably *could* have used that post-finishing the folder, but I honestly forgot about it. Ultimately though, it probably wouldn't have had a major impact on the challenge, past maybe making LifeVirus a bit easier to knock out.
This is the future Higsby wants.
Now do it with swords only.
You can dodge the numberman dice attack i think
Hello I love Megaman battle Network
Personally I feel like you should wait for a sale on the collection if you aren't a diehard fan. Capcom purposefully overpriced this collection to take advantage of desperate fans. Look at their other collection and game counts even other Maga man collections. This is a blatant price hike.
You could’ve just save reset scrubbed the mystery data in Area 1 to get 1k zenny x2-3, logged out and repeat until enough is made for the memory.
Yeah, that's exactly why I didn't feel bad about cheating in the zenny. Just saved time. lol
I like how you say, "this incarnation is the most popular in Japan" with "HOW" on text screen followed by, "despite being action rpg's". Lmao you must've meant because of instead of despite. How ironic.
I think the point I was trying to get at was that the series is so vastly different from the mainline titles, and yet it still managed attracted a wider audience. Had a bit of a brainfart writing that in the script, I guess. 😅
BN1 is probably the only one you can beat with bomb chips easily lol.
Answer: Probably yes, but why would you want to?
Wait aren't you going to do Advanced chips
I'm surprised no mention of the Cross Bomb program Advances ? Could've save so much more time it's lil , Cross then Big bomb All B codes . Then there's the Sigma Version of that program advance
Why didn't you use the "ADD" feature for the chips you know you not gonna use?
ADD in MMBN1 only gives you an extra 5 chips to choose from, it isn't like BN2-3 where it sacrifices chips to get more in the following turn(s)
Why didn't you use your gameshark to fill your folder with nothing but bombs?
Tbh I can't tell if you were using the ADD functionality or not to get more chip slots. Wouldn't that be good to burn through the useless parts of your deck early in the game to fish for bomb chips?
I didn't mention it in the video, but I did actually use the ADD button a few times- -it's just not as impactful as one might think. Unless I'm getting 5 chips out of my folder on the turn after I use it (which, given the mismatched codes at that point in the game, is very likely), I'm still operating at a loss, since the extra row of options goes away on the following turn.
ADD kinda sucks in BN1. Sure, you get 5 new slots, but the useless chips you didn't want stay exactly where they are, and next turn they'll be all you have again.
@manjackson2772 Yeah, I forgot it worked like that in the first game. It do suck in 1, but SOMETIMES the burst can be useful.
Can't you just waste a turn to get a fourth minibomb?
Subscriber 450 let's go!
Should've shown the actual navi fights smh
Mega man BN 6 you can use bomb w the patch card
Mega quint. He made a shit post with that clip.
You didn't fight bass
Seems Bassed to me.
booo i grinded up zeny on legacy collection for buy all the stuff from the shop in area one
Great video! I’ll subscribe too, keep making BN content and if you ever wanna collab, please let me know ✌️
