That is actually quite impressive. Really rare to hear someone, that hasn't learned Swedish by 13-14 or so, speak it with such a good accent. Even more rare probably for someone having English as a native language. I guess he is rather gifted.
WOW! That Swedish accent is spot on. If I had just heard him speak Swedish I probably would have been fooled into thinking he was Swedish. And that is very unusual for someone with English as their first language even after living in Sweden for several decades!
@@danielengstom1127 My English teacher lived in England for quite a long time before moving back to Sweden. That's why my English "break" in the Queens English. Other than that I speak Skaraborgska.
Wow... Im really impressed. He sound like a native swede with a clear Stockholm accent, and according to Wikipedia, he only lived in Sweden for 5 years.
Sjukt imponerad!
Wow man, he doesnt even sound foreign. Sounds exactly like any other Swede. I would never have guessed that but his Swedish is spot on perfect and without any revealing accent at all......
That is insanely good swedish! He's got barely any accent. That's the best swedish I've ever heard from an English speaker. He sounds like a native speaker. The parts that are off could be attributed to a dialect. If I didn't know that he's not a native speaker, I would never have guessed based on what was said in this interview at least. He had nothing to be embarrassed about.
Det var som fasen, ett språkligt geni! Har träffat många britter som bott länge i Sverige men man hör deras brittiska accent tydligt... Richie lät hur svensk som helst! grymt!
His Swedish accent is way better than my English accent. It's most impressive that he still speaks it so fluently and clean after not living here for so many years. I'm engaging in English speech everyday and still I can't speak it that clean. If I'd ever meet Richie I'd be more comfortable speaking Swedish with him just to hide my Swenglish.
If he started speaking to me in Swedish I would've just assumed he's Swedish. His vocabulary is probably lacking, but that pronunciation and accent is spot on.
I work as a dialect Coach and most of it is amazing! Only at man måste kunna prate did you here his English accent, with a schwa vowel in the final syllable. Impressive
Two years later, and I still come back to this video every once and a while to remind myself of how fkn good his Swedish is. He speaks better Swedish then most Swedes😂 This is very random, but I feel like I’ve heard his voice in some late 90s early 2000s Disney movies dubbed to Swedish. I’m honestly so caught off guard every time😂
I was expecting the usual wheelieround r:s and gobbly pronunciation of an english bred talking swinglish; but man. I've pretty much never heard a "foreigner" talk that effortless and relaxed swedish before. Fantastic to hear!
Magical fun to here him speak swedish with a little bit of stockholmska (tyvärr)...jeje, kill me stockholmare, bryr mig inte ett päss! But he is not only a man with a talent to guitars...he is talented of the speech with different language...waoow! It would be really fun to talk to him over a beer or 2!
He speaks better then som of the Skarsgårds to, Dolp Lundgren become ”To Big” to remember to speak fairly good Swedish and that fenomen still shows up now and then..
Riktigt bra!
I finally get it! I have had Americans tell me that my English is better than some Americans they know, his Swedish is better than Swedes I know. He don't have an obvious accent either. Very good.
I'm swedish and I like Priest, I had no idea he could speak swedish, sounds like he was born and raised in Sweden even (sounds like he is from Stockholm).
O.O really impressive, it's astonishing how authentic typical Stockholm accent he has, and when you take into account that not even the Swedish queen speak as authentic Swedish and she has lived in Sweden for almost 50years 🤨
When he even added the "liksom", then you know he's a decent Swedish speaker :D
Helt klockren korvgubbesvenska! Hade aldrig gissat han var britt. Respekt!
I was really surprised how good his Swedish was.
That is actually quite impressive. Really rare to hear someone, that hasn't learned Swedish by 13-14 or so, speak it with such a good accent. Even more rare probably for someone having English as a native language. I guess he is rather gifted.
Fascinating. Speaking with him briefly you wouldn't probably even realize Swedish isn't his native language.
WOW! That Swedish accent is spot on. If I had just heard him speak Swedish I probably would have been fooled into thinking he was Swedish. And that is very unusual for someone with English as their first language even after living in Sweden for several decades!
OMG ! Im from sweden and he speaks swedish spot on with an accent perfect !
I find it unique that some Swedish people speak english in the same accent as most Americans have.
@@dauntingtask8399 Blaming Hollywood :)
@@dauntingtask8399 And some Swedes talk with a British accent. Really weird lol. (I'm Swedish and i speak in a very Swedish accent lol)
@@dauntingtask8399 That's quite understandable though, isn't it? Most of the culture we consume is from the USA.

I am Swedish and I'm gobsmacked how natural his Swedish sounded.
His Swedish is perfect wtf. He even got a Stockholm accent.
To speak perfect swedish you have to speak Nyköping accent... Not Stockholm ;)

Men gud vilket uttal! Helt otroligt
Wow, actually really impressed by his accent. He even sounds like a Swedish person :)
His accent, spot on!
Holy f*ck! That's PERFECT swedish, with 0% foreign accent. Silly god!

Wow, otroligt bra svenska

helvete vad bra han pratar
His Swedish is great! Always saw him as the "replacement" guy in Priest but after this he's more dear to me. :)
Whoa I absolutely did not expect him to be that good at swedish.
Fan vad bra han är på svenska :)
He talks swedish better than Dolph Lundgren who is anative swede!
He speaks better then som of the Skarsgårds to, Dolp Lundgren become ”To Big” to remember to speak fairly good Swedish and that fenomen still shows up now and then..
Haha damn Richie talks better swedish than many actual swedes ! Very impressing.

His accent is virtually indistinguishable from a native speaker, and also the use of filler words. Impressive!
O.O really impressive, it's astonishing how authentic typical Stockholm accent he has, and when you take into account that not even the Swedish queen speak as authentic Swedish and she has lived in Sweden for almost 50years 🤨
perfect accent, I'm really impressed. some people speak way worse Swedish after 30 years in the country. respect!
