    Excellent instruction. One note: Rubbing alcohol is isopropyl alcohol and water. On electronics devices 3d printers and lasers pure isopropyl alcohol or alcohol with low water content is preferred because it leaves no residue,

      Yea, I understand. That is why I mention it in the video that other products are sometimes preferred. This is the method I use, No issues so far.

    That's how i've been cleaning my lenses and it seems to do the job. Good video!!

    I would agree with you on everything you said! Good sound advice! Especially on not spinning up the fan that is really tough on the bearings or bushings. My Father was a professional Photographer and when it came to cleaning lens Isopropyl alcohol was not his favorite to use because it evaporated relatively fast just leaving the dust particles globed to together.
    I think he may been concerned about alcohol attacking the sealer on the lens mount.
    That was 45 years ago.
    I too run my air assist when ever I am running the laser for the reason you do!
    I have also heard some people say that isopropyl alcohol was abrasive, I am not sure that true. Great video.😁🛫

    Another great video. What's a good reference to go by to know when to clean the module. Guessing I have close to 10 hours on my d1 20w now and getting some residue on the shield and nozzle. Thanks again for all your videos!!!

      It varies with different materials, air assist settings and exhaust setups. I kinda just go by the dust on the fan and outside of the nozzle. Each part can get dirtier depending on materials. I just visually inspect it periodically.

    How often do you clean yours ? I like your quick slide to remove your module ! How much air pressure do you use when cutting ? I have a 10W and a 5.5w and maybe ill move up to the big boys like you someday ! lol. I do need a more air tight enclosure . Id like something that cuts clear without breaking the budget !

      I just watch it and when it looks dirty, I clean it. Too many variables to put a time on it. Some materials just make more of a mess than others. my regulator is set to 10 psi for heavy cutting. It varies with the materials. Enclosures don't have to be air tight, just keep negative pressure inside.

    Pretty good tips I like the skewer trick. I have a 20-watt xtool, could you recommended power / speed settings for a bamboo cutting board? I only have one so I can't test 😁

      with the ones I use, 120mm/s at 100 % works well

    Love your videio and watch all of them. Question, I can't find an answer online. I have the Atezr p20. My protective lens gets burn marks on top side. The marks will not clean off. I replaced the lens and after the first burn, I get the marks again. They are kind of squares right in the center of the lens. Have you experianced this problem and is it a problem? Should I ignore it or what? Thanks Jim

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  Рік тому

      It needs replacing if the coating has been burned off. That is what it sounds like has happened. The burn will be a tiny rectangle in the middle. If it cleans off completely, it may just be some vapor

    What air pressure are you typically running, I seem to get condensation on my lens a lot which requires constant cleaning (D1 Pro 20W) I have a drier after the shop compressor and another before the machine so it is good air going in. Thanks

      The max on the regulator is set to 10 psi. I adjust the valve depending on the material and the burn I want.

    question after I cleaned I noticed my lens looks like a amber color is that normal or should it be clear like glass?

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  6 місяців тому

      Some lenses have a coating on them. Look for a chip or crack to tell if it is damaged. If it isn’t and is cutting ok, rock on.

    Aren't you worried about moisture from the compressed air getting on your electronics? That's why they use canned air on computers.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  8 днів тому +1

      No, my system is set up with water separators. I use the same thing on my PCs. Canned air is for those who do not have an air compressor and wanna pay for compressed air. You never clean electronics while powered up as a precaution.

    Great video my lense looks clean, so I'm not sure why I'm having issues. If it's the module really can't afford that at the moment so that would suck for me lol😅

    "Laser lens cleaner" .... "Laser lens cleaning clothes".... wow some people will buy anything!!😂😂
    I don't have a diode laser but I do have a 100watt Thunder Laser and it gets cleaned from top to bottom with L.A. Awesome and generic paper towels from the dollar store.
