After installation of everything I followed your info here on the video in Studio One Pro and it worked perfectly first time. Many thanks For some excellent videos, I have now subscribed. @@rafaelhernandez5550 all you need is a gigabit router, I use cat5 cables. Then once you have installed vep on your main computer and also the other computers, attach the network cables to each one. In your server open vep, and make a new setup. Add a Synth. Then in your daw add a vep to a track, then hit connect and it will show the server in the connect window, if you didn't name it, it will be called untitled, just click on that and connect.it doesn't use the Internet. Or modem, you need a gigabit switch. A 4 channel or 8 channel tp link will do they are cheap.
Hey Guy, when you use Logic, I'm noticing a ton of crackles and pops in the reverb signal. I get this issue as well when I'm trying to set up my Logic/VEP template with reverb. Have you figured out how to fix that?

I ask because recently I’ve been looking into using VEPro on my main machine, but folks are saying it actually creates more of a cpu hit than running Kontakt instances etc inside the DAW instead. (??!) I’ve been using VEPro to connect to a slave machine since it was first released, but looking to get a new computer and wondering if I can forego the old slave.
This works for me when I’m only running fx on vsl but if I already have an instrument active in vsl the fx bus doesn’t show up under assign anyone got a way of doing this I’m using cubase pro

Hi, I received a template with 85 contact player, how can I connect them to the viena ensemble Pro program .great thank you.I want to emphasize that the template that received there is 45 instruments track kontakt Player.....When I connected the first instrument, everything is fine... VFX only seem to print when you bounce a mix in real time if you do it off-line they’re not going to come back through if you’re hosting them on Vienna ensemble. If someone knows how to get it to work on off-line bounce let me know

Real question though, how do you add more than one effect (i.e. like say another reverb) -I know can in same Channel strip in VEP under the EW -Spaces and can add that way like Fabfilter-Q. But what if want to add say another Rev3, Rev4? Would I need to create a brand new instance of VEP? I ask cause i tried with another channel and it sounded like something was gonna crash -didnt sound right... Maybe could do another video to follow up with adding more reverbs?? Thanks Guy.
Didn't work for me, got tons of ring-modulatey noise coming back. I'm running it on the same PC as Cubase which isn't ideal, but its worked thus far for all the instruments.

Very useful tutorial, thanks! No need to buy an iLok to use QL Spaces on my master computer. Had to disable ASIO Guard, otherwise Cubase is crashing when I assign a VEP instance inside VEP Audio Input plugin (on PC at least).

Well, duplicating vienna channels is not the way to compare the vst power.... On the host computer there is only 1 instance active and the 16 duplicated channels all route into the same effect... To make this properly, you have to setup 16 instances on the vienna host and 16 tracks 1:1 to them on the client... Like this, your fx host will go down rather than the client... ;-)
CPU Processing comparison with duplicating FX tracks with VEPro Audio Input was kinda irrelevant. It is the same as to send 16 audio tracks to a 1 Aux FX track. If anything it would add more processing for the routing using 16 instances of VEPro plugin. Theoretically it should be more processing than simple routing of 16 audio tracks to 1 Cubase FX track with 1 QL Spaces Plugin. And this as well gives you just 1 type of effect. Duplicating FX tracks with instances of QL Spaces gives you 16 different QL Spaces settings. Fair comparison would be to route those 16 FX tracks with VEPro Audio Input plugins to 16 separate instances of QL Spaces inside VEPro Server. It would increase load on Server CPU, but not on the main machine.
The bigger and hungrier my template gets the more ways Im looking for to save CPU and off-load anything I can. A lot of people are putting video on a second machine using Videoslave3. Not sure how much CPU it saves.

Great, clear demonstration of how to do it - and why. One question, given that as you say convolution reverb inherently consumes a fair amount of CPU, have you simply moved the consumption to the slave machine, so that if you have a single machine setup, there is no benefit in doing this?

Yes we have some large spiders - but since this one bit me I have been developing these weird superpowers and spend a lot of time on the ceiling. Remember to some extent UAD does the same thing as a slave as all the processing is on the card. Anyway, a slave PC is probablty cheaper!

I used Solo Defeat on the Tracks coming back from VEPro to fix this.

Can you also use this for mixing plug-ins like EQs and compressors? Stuff like Waves, etc.

Duplicating the sends doesnt show the CPU usage as opening 16 reverb plugins on the master computer....but still good video...thanks

Seems using it as an fx bus puts more cpu load than if simply used the host. Try setting your sample rate to 32 and test.

You should try the Fractal Audio reverb plug-in. It’s the reverb algorithm from the Axe Fx in a VST And is Sounds rather delicious

Correct. The only benefit is if you are using slaves but convolution like Spaces or Altiverb can be a real CPUgobbler
Guy M so you’d need to buy a CPU more powerful than the master more than likely, which is expensive. why not just build with that expensive CPU
