Thanks! I dont trust the KTM engineers anymore since they used a cooling system for street bikes on an enduro bike. ;)

Vielleicht wäre ein Vergleich des ausströmenden Wassers aus dem Kühler interessant gewesen…
Bei mir ist der Motor so heiß geworden, dass ein Auslassventil sich verbogen hat. Beide Ventilführungen haben extremes spiel. (56.000km)

Dafür fehlt mir leider die richtige Messtechnik, hätte mich sonst auch sehr interessiert… Die Hitzeentwicklung des Motors bzw. die zu geringe Kühlleistung ist wirklich ein Problem

It is actually a big difference when you ride the bike, the big fan case actually facilitates direct air flow better, on top of the benefit it provides by itself. I agree it's not worth paying the ktm price for if but for 70eur it's a good upgrade for riding in hot weather.

I have not seen all of your videos regarding this topic but have you considered a different thermostat switch that will trigger the fan at a lower temperature? The other more expensive option is to have a radiator shop make a new radiator with a different core. Race cars work on this idea.

Been wanting to install the 701 LR fan on my (regular) 701 but not 100% sure it's worth the cost and time now ahaha

:D yes dont expect too much of it! But most important is not to pay like 180 Euro for this Piece if you can get it for 50 or even less

And there I was, happy about my new fan and now your video is giving me second thoughts 😅
It is making me question why they install this bigger fan on the LR from factory if it doesn’t work better why would they do it? Especially given the fact that with the tanks on the side, the hot air can’t escape as well as through the holes in the fairings from the normal version. Some more tests are in order I think. Maybe measuring the temperature of the water directly in the radiator would help understand ?

I thought somehow that the LR has 2 Fans, but I guess its just one then? Yes I also expected some better Result then this… With the old Bracket the smaller Fan still acts on some bigger Surface Area. I am working on some Solution to use the new Fan with the old Bracket, I guess you cant do much more.

I think for the LR the higher volume of Air is needed to push out the Air from underneath the tank, as with less air pushed through I assume you would heat up the Air underneath the tank more as it's not moving out fast enough and thereby heat up the whole system more.

I ordered all these parts but they don't fit properly on my 2017 Husqvarna 701 Enduro. The actual fan housing hits some sort of metal box that is just to the right of the fan. I cannot properly mount the lower radiator arms to the radiator. Be warned this may not work for all.

Hmm thats sad. I guess the metal box is from the ABS block. I did not had any issues at the 2020 model. But thanks for that information that it might not work on the 2017 model.

I suppose so, I was thinking through the options but I would rather have the radiator fitting snug over more cooling power. Thanks for the video though, it was fun to try. It was a pain to find the part number for the oem ventilator fan in the USA here it is for anybody else #62635041000 @@Speelbird

They used the box, to force the air through all the radiator fins, not only the ones under the fan.

Yup thats correct, so combining the bigger Fan with the old Bracket has to be the Target

@@Speelbird that would be ideal. Or as I did on my old 640, I did put a fan on each radiator and used cascaded thermoswith from BMW Z3 (that fit without mods) and it switched the first fan at 83 celsius and second at 96(very rarely).

@@anojsemtu I also considered putting some second Fan of the right Side of the Radiator, unfortunately the 701/690 does provide enough Space for that, guess you are lucky with your 640 then ;)

Hii!! Where have you bought the fan support?? The reference you show in the video is for other one, and the reference that you put in the description doesn’t exist in ktm.

Hi, the number is a part number from Husqvarna. KTM does not provide the bracket. Anyway, you can buy it at Husqvarna and it will fit your KTM too if you got some 2020 Model because the radiator is the basically the same. Best Regards :)

I'm Thinking on install this bigger Fan to my GASGAS ES700 with the old bracket, but mainly because my older Fan stops of working 😢, Do you think is a better option ? Because the stock KTM is $180, I think is too much

180 for a fan is of course way too much, just buy the bigger one for 50. If you can do some rework on you old bracket to make it fit (also with the auxiliaries behind the radiator) this will be the optimal solution. If you dont like to rework the bracket just buy the bracket for the bigger one at the KTM store, fits like a glove, but you wont recognize the bigger fan that much, but it also does not get worse. So at least you save some bucks.

If you are desperated with your Cooling Water Temperature I would change the Fan and Pump, but dont expect too much of it, its just slightly better. The Radiator is the limiting Part of the Cooling Circuit.

Yes , i understand.
I already changed the pump, and looking forward to put the back half of a low fender to increase airflow. A second fan just won't fit in :(
But as you say, the problem is the active cooling.
Did you adapt the stock fan support to the LR one?

I installed a fuel dongle, and noticed the (standard) fan coming on later and general less heat from the engine. Now I'm installing the bigger fan, and it should cool down faster. Also, I've installed a fan switch override - so I can turn the fan on before getting into a slow speed zone or traffic.
Did you keep the bigger fan, or went back to the standard one?
