Can we give props to Malia Obama for writing the Girl Bye episode???? This was one wild series. Dominique was outstanding . Marissa face as Queen Nijah at the end took me out.
It wasn’t till I finished watching the series that I saw she was apart of the cast and I’m like where Now that u pin pointed it that scene is even more funnier
My favorite little part of the show was in the stripper episode when they got stuck out in the middle of the road at night & a car was gonna pass by. Then the bigger girl said “do yo sh!t bich” 📷 for they to pose and they did a bunch of hood poses lmao then she said the other sh!t we gon die & they did the sexy pose lol. So funny, creative, modern and felt so true.
I just finished the series...not even 30minutes ago. LOVED IT❤❤HAD me falling out the bed. --->But that stripper scene was top tier. Funny az hell. They were likeable Too😅
@@4tha99n2oo0z It was funny when she first started and was acting as if she had a seizure disorder. I mean she couldn't dance worth a damn and then the cute guy from Saints and Sinners was her first customer even though she was looking for Tonk.
Khalid actually did ask Dre to come with them to Atlanta. I missed it the first time but I rewatched the pilot today and realized he says "You should roll with us". He still a creep just like .05% less lol. Anyway, this show was soooo weird and IDK if I loved it but it definitely kept my attention and all the references were FUNNY! Oh and Dominique Fishback KILLED it (pun intended) haha. The whole cast was great honestly but she really deserves her flowers!
I think they should just leave it as a limited series / only one season. It was just enough to keep you going & everything doesn’t need to go on forever.
That last part about some people having that need for validation is one-THOUSAND% true and so damn sad. These stans are wild as hell smh. And sidenote, Billie did look young and old at the same time lol, her acting was a lil too good! So creepy 😳
Yes, it's weird how people go so wild, like to the point of committing crime, solely in the name of being a "fan". And Billie's low key good at acting, she was great when she hosted SNL!
Girl that detective was on her stuff that episode had me. Dominique Fishback (Dre) is a true actor I was with her the whole movie. She stayed true to character on each episode. That Damson and Chloe scene whew😮 I really felt like Dre actually killed Marissa as well
Right my brother said the detective reminded him of Caroline Mason from First 48. She really did and she was a Lieutenant from Memphis Tennessee Police Department. Dre was definitely codependent when it came to Marrisa .
That's what I'm thinking. I think when she has a psychotic break and kills someone she actually loves she like creates an alternative reality (the killings of Marissa and Rashida were really different) and that would explain that ending
@theprincess222 The only reason that I'm not sure Dre killed Marissa is because everyone else says it's a suicide. Even Detective Greene called it a suicide. If Dre killed her, she took the time to make it look like she off'd herself.
In the elevator with the white lady and man with the jacket did DRE or Marrissa’s phone have a message that popped up reading FOLLOW THE JACKET/COAT?????? She dropped the dumbbell and followed him. Please tell me I’m not the only one who saw that??
Hailey/Halsey needed Dre/Carmen to come in the house so the boyfriend would know that Hailey wasn't cheating; it wasn't to traffick Dre. I often did that (present a human alibi) to keep my former partner from accusing & abusing me after I came home.
I know a lot of major fan bases are annoyed at this series and feel called out. But the show evoking that feeling seems intentional. It's good to critique the culture and dangers of stans/intense fan bases. Glad you reviewed this!! Side note: Consider trying Bubly if you want a zero sugar fruit flavored sparkling water!
I appreciate you recommending the episodes. Dominque really played this role. I loved the awkwardness of the movie, the cameos of the unexpected musicians/actors, and incorporating real life with the imagination of a mentally ill person. I still am not sure if Dre killed Marissa or she killed herself. The only thing I do know is Dre did not leave with Queen Bee.
Marissa definitely killed herself. She had a history of attempting suicide (the scar where she slit her wrist at the beginning of the first episode). Dre wasn’t inept enough to stage a suicide. That death didn’t follow any of her patterns. Dre killed and disposed of ppl in a very specific way. None of that matches Marissa’s death at all. Plus, all of the messages that Marissa text Dre ending with the “I’m sorry” all were sent when Dre was at Festival and with the white guy. Even the detective that put everything together still acknowledged Marissa’s death as a suicide because it doesn’t fit the pattern or MO of Dre’s crimes.
Bonnaroo is an actual festival outside of Coachella. Also, I think Marissa committed suicide. The wrist scars from the previous scene made me believe she tried it before.
But remember Dre stabbed a girl at a sleep over party I'm willing to bet she had plenty of violent outbursts and Marissa was harmed which is why they really sent her back and why she was kissing on her scar. They never really said it was suicide nor was her death officially classified as a suicide. And in the cult episode Dre had a flashback of Marissa fighting her that night
@Anon Ymous naw they was in their apartment you can tell by the background. Why would dre whose being hypnotized into telling the truth imagine something false? Every time billy snapped her fingers dre responded with the truth. When billy snapped after asking dre what did u do? The flashback popped up.
That baby's insanity had her seeing her "sister" as her idol in the end. I enjoyed this movie, although I'm not a fan of endings like this. There's too much guessing & I don't want to guess, especially when I've watched 7 episodes. I need the ending to tie everything up into a neat bow.
Hey, what’s crazy is that she saw her sister as her idol and she was super protective of her sister, so really what was happening through the whole show is she was killing people that she felt was doing harm to her sister
The ending was an extreme let-down! I loved Dominique's performance, but I really despised the character, her gettin that "happy endin" did NOT set well with my spirit Lol

I thought it was very interesting when Dre was dancing sexy at the club & getting her money while listening to that Ni’jah song. It reminded me of the night Marissa passed and went to that other club listening to Ni’jah. Reminding me of how Beyoncé has a Sasha fierce persona and I wonder if there are Beyoncé fans who can channel Sasha fierce through her music too. Anyway Dominique Fishback is an incredible actress. The way she was able to personify how it feels to be an awkward black girl but also knowing how to code switch a little for survival.

Dre didn't kill Marissa she killed herself because Marissa had tried to kill herself before because she slit her wrists as a child that's why Dre kept kissing her scar on her arm
Alternative theory: Marissa had truma to the back / side of her head. That had to have been an attack. I think the scar on her arm was self harm because the two were separated when Dre was sent back to the adoption agency. The mom talked about how bonded they were and how much they needed each other. I think the Detective explained how Dee killed Marissa because she talked about attacking from the back and strangling her...the same method Dre used on Rashida who she also loved. I think it's so strange that a woman who couldn't look Khalil in the eye would watch a video and go to a club in that outfit and sleep with the first guy she saw. That's why Marissa parents were so damn mad. She almost died the first time Dre comes into their lives. She sneaks to live with Dre and then she really dies? They think she's responsible
I thought the scar was due to the fight breaking out at their childhood slumber party. I think Dre must have slashed Marissa’s hand during her scuffling with the white girl with the neck scar.
@@beyourself2444 that’s what I was thinking. It’s was probably a accident of being caught in a cross fire but Dre need help. Then again I think her ability to cope and be empathetic was mixed in with the placenta that was thrown out since birth. So I don’t know how she could be helped

I had absolutely no intention of watching this show prior to reading the title of your video 😂
As I type this, I am SCREAMING LAUGHING at the beginning of ep 2...wtf😂😂
Protect Donald Glover at ALL costs 🤣🤣🤣

There's nothing left. The ending tied everything up.
@@ericmckinney4607 what did you gather from the ending?
I’m only on episode 2 and had to come watch your video. I’m shocked but don’t know how to feel about this show, but also has me pulled in.
That part….love you Ashley!!!!
I binged the whole series yesterday, it was so good!!!!! Dominique KILLED HER ROLE!!! She played the hell out of every version of herself, it's like she had split personalities!!!! Dre was a psychopath, she was able to turn into whoever she needed to be to survive!!!!
Donald Glover makes great TV, Swarm reminded me of ATL how he incorporates real life situations into the storylines!
I was waiting for you to review this and was thinking about you the whole time like Ashley is going to be weak asf when she sees this!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Donald Glover low key confirmed Sanaa Lathan bit Beyoncé. 💀💀💀
I forgot about Sanaa Lathan biting Beyonce.
I think we need to give Donald Glover his props bc he makes classic TV!
Looooove your commentary!!
