I run plants and have been seeing success with them this format but when the move towards a tier 0 format just started I thought to myself traptrix would probably shine and be a better option. Going second is just rough, maybe not necessarily against snake eye but then you will struggle going second vs all the tier two decks (Kash, branded, voiceless, raid raptor, ect) in waiting until April and legacy of destruction comes out for the new raika archetype I've been testing it on Omega and it is nuts in the traptrix build, it's makes going second a little easier by giving you huge monsters you can link spam into, and the recursion/recycling ability is insane making the grind game even crazier

Funny that you mentioned Marincess and Myutants, those are the main decks I play. I've been trying to tune Myutants for this format but it's still a work in progress.

Since Traptrix has a hard time going up against anything towers related, I play Utopia with Utopia Double, and a random garnet Double or Nothing in the main deck. Having a 10k punch as a bonus is usually enough against a ton of people for round 3.
Than again, if you have a trap in the grave, Atypus is usually enough of a beatdown bonus for the rest of the bodies you can put on board within the archetype.
But shifter? I really dislike that card, as it kills a ton of decks. Than again, if it hurts the opponent more than it hurts me, it should be positive huh?... I might have to try including it...
Also, I run more trap holes. 2-2 of Gravedigger, Floodgate, Bottomless, Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare, and Terrifying Trap Hole Nightmare; while the entire deck is 50 cards. Also, less handtraps, and I despise cards like skill drain or summon limit. floodgates should rot in hell. So I don't run those. Board breakers like Evenly on the other hand, at 3 copies.
I can't wait for the new raika cards to come out, that deck seems so fun. my test hands on omega look fine and I'm able to make full combo pretty consistently, my doubt is how would it do when interrupted
also let me say that man this deck profile was awesome. very chill, but also complete of a full list and combos with various possible scenarios. really, very nice work
Holding the Holeutea under Shifter is a wise play, I still like Exceed and Brig as extenders
I've been testing with 2 Garden. While the card is undeniably powerful and allows you to play through some interruption, if your Pudica gets Ashed or Impermed, you're not getting to it anyway, and. And while opening it can *occasionally* be a brick without the right hand, more often than not it should just help you.
Anyway, the most frustrating card against Snake-Eyes is Kurikara by far. Unless your board ends on enough good backrow, it's extremely difficult to play around, and even if you survive one Kurikara, they can just do it again on a following turn.
Playing conservatively will really help you if you're having issues with Kurikara, because you'll typically only be using the effect of Sera and the effect of whatever you summon from deck if you choose to.
I would consider one treacherous trap hole since its chainable interpretation and shifter keeps your grave clean.
Went in for the deck profile, stayed for the sound. Great insight on the deck, you’ve convinced me on using Shifter on main.
If budget allows, would you run S:P Little Knight? If so, what would you replace?
S:P is a great addition if you can afford it! Gives extra utility to Triple Tactics Talent and makes it easier to break boards. I'd probably cut Cularia, Allomerus, or a Pingiucula.

I may be being a noob but was wondering if you could explain something for me, you mentioned that if you used Dimension shifter during the draw phase, Ash Blossom doesnt work?

As far as the Dimension Shifter thing, I can't recall saying Ash didn't work under Shifter- it should! But handtraps that would send themselves to the GY as cost (identified by the text before " ; ") cannot activate under Shifter (example: Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit).
If you can timestamp where I said Ash doesn't work under Shifter in the video I'll see what context there was & provide some more info if you want!
I did! You are talking about Snake Eye Ash I think, it just automatically heard Ash and thought "Ash Blossom"!

How do you feel about Iron Thunder over Solemn? All Traptrix extra deck monsters are immune to the destruction effect of Iron Thunder in the same column
Iron Thunder and Judgement fulfill different roles I feel. Thunder is better going 2nd because of its column wipe ability, not to mention it can respond to monster effects instead of summons.
Personally, I play Judgement because the column wipe effect of Thunder will come up maybe once in a while (matchup-depending), and sometimes you really can't allow a specific summon resolve.

I have my traptrix, beetroopers, and inzektor decks on the shelf until raika hits. I feel traptrix will trade some handtraps for raika support.

i dont know about shifter, you cant do rafflesia and you cant trigger the dionaea effect to re-set the trap, you cant activate the holeutea effect in gy to special, i still prefer parallel exceed
Under Shifter you go for different lines. They should be explained in the video!
What are the 6 cards you usually choose to banish with Pot of Prosperity?
I usually go for 3. Usually I decide between a mix: Allomerus, 1 Pinguicula, Dweller, Bagooska, 1 Sera, Cularia, and Redoer are usually my targets. I decide on them based on the matchup, but if I don't know what I'm facing I usually do Allo, Dweller, and Cularia.

I think it's more flexible, so better ability to adapt to formats.
Idk if Traptrix will ever be good. Battle phase, end battle kinda wrecks them. Also in a format where Kurikara is searchable through engine, you’re going to have a rough time.
Traptrix's ability to do well in any given format is usually up to the pilot because of how malleable the deck is.
Nobody's playing Evenly this format because it does nothing to Snake-Eye, which is another plus. Kurikara only hurts if you have zero follow-up or are greedy and pop off effects asap.
Awesome Deck Profile. What would be a great replacement for TY-PHON though. I'm yet to get that card.
Honestly there really isn't a replacement for Typhon, but you can toy around with other XYZs or run a second Atypus for more OTK potential!
You can play Goddess or the two Number F0 (Utopic Future and Utopic Draco Future). you can also play Exosister Asophiel

So, the most Ash Blossom does is stop Sera or a normal summon effect. If you open bad it will definitely hurt, but if you open any extender (Pudica, Arachnocampa, Garden, Exceed, etc) you can easily play through it. Even if they Ash you turn 1 you can still set up backrow to stop them.

Dimension shifter work with traptrix how?
Traptrix doesn't care much for its own graveyard, and Shifter is mandatory for any deck that wants to remain competitive in Snake-Eye format.
@@asmophet but we can cycle back cards no?… in terms of bringing traps back from graveyard to field and other monsters and vice versa… and that helps to cycle back our stuff with shifter could potentially fuck up our own board no? Just wondering. Might put shifter in
@@OblivionDragma Dionaea and Holeutea are really the only two important cards that have graveyard interaction in the deck.
Half the time Holeutea's grave effect won't have a great target to revive, and Dionaea will be live anyway on the third turn since Shifter is no longer applied.
The main reason to play Shifter is because it ends Snake-Eyes' turn while allowing you to commit minimal resources. There are multiple lines that allow you to OTK them after using Shifter, and you can avoid losing advantage by playing conservative while under it. I think it's mandatory this format for Traptrix to compete!
@@asmophet Myrmeleo and Pudica are regularly a great target to revive with Holeutea's... And the grave is important for the combo Holeutea + Sera effect + Dionaea effect for the trap discard by Holeutea effect.
@@pandojotv1440 Shifter is more important in this current format because rather than going 1 interaction with Holeutea and getting OTKed for it, you're shutting off Snake-Eyes' entire turn so you can OTK them the following turn.
Like I said, Dionaea and Holeutea are the only notable grave effects in Traptrix and you can do without them for a single turn. Play conservatively!
Are you siding out shifter when going second?
Only if Shifter isn't impactful in the matchup. You should always have Shifter in main against Snake-Eye or matchups that similarly rely on the graveyard.

S:P and Fenrir are great additions! I'm wishing you luck for the future, and just be careful not to run into Nibiru with the Fenrir lines!
Even in Turn 1, there is a Draw Phase, although the initial player does not draw a sixth card
