This reminds me Tony Robin's analogy of this to growing a plant. You always give first. If you want to get the fruit from the plant, you water it, give it sunlight, take good care of it so it blooms and you get the result. You can't negotiate and tell the plant, "Give me the fruit first, and I'll water you well." It just doesn't go that way. xD

I met you at VidSummit after your speech. Here's a question for the Boss in a Bentley series: Entrepreneurship can be a lonely road since you're living a life very different from the majority of people. What advice do you have for single entrepreneurs in finding a partner in the dating world and for married entrepreneurs trying to be a great spouse and business owner at the same time?
    Thank you Dan!

Hey Gnanesh here from India. I have following up your sales strategy and implemented those at my workplace and I was very happy to see the result In closing the sale and the ticket. My question here is, if I wanted to start a business or follow the entrepreneurship the idea that I have, what is the first step that I have to take to reach out my idea, other than UA-cam video making, how do you initially generate leads and gain people's trust. If you would post a video on this it would be great.

    Hi Dan. My question is:
How do I sale an idea but don’t feel like a sale man? In other words, to be comfortable in my own skin while still be able to utilise your skill
I like to treat a good idea more as a precious intellectual product. I often refer them as ‘stand for an idea’ rather than ‘selling’ it. I find it very hard to adapt the new mindset. But I am ready to change my mind. I really hope you can help me convince myself. I have heart and a big dream beyond my own benefit.. just too little money.

Hey dan! Its Blake the 17 year old from ga. I found my first mentor near me actually, I pass his huge house every day. A friend and I knew we needed a mentor to start somewhere. So we knocked on his door and asked him to help us be like him and mentor us and we would work for him for free for his knowledge. He was indeed generous, he invited us in and told us he would get us a job when we are 18 selling health insurance, he would pay for our schooling and test costs. I was mindblown Dan, I couldn't believe it. I turn 18 in October 21. I am extremely dedicated to being successful, wake up at 4 am, run a couple miles, cook good breakfast, workout at home, go to school, then go to work. on my down time I read books and watch people like you. some of my friends laugh at me bc I watch you but i dont care, I'm going places like it or not. Thank you so much Dan Lok for this awesome video. I only started watching you videos for a month now. I must confess you have influenced my thinking. Having watched this video, a thought camme to mind.
There are different types of mentor for different types of people. For instance, lets say a make-up artist, or web developer or a HIGH TICKET CLOSER like yourself. Now this is not to say i operate in any of this.
Now the big question is this. The advantages of being a makeup artist, a web developer and an HIGH TICKET CLOSER is not the same. Maybe where ones passion lie is web development.
    So:
WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE OF CHOOSING A MENTOR IN THIS CASE?
SHOULD ONE CONSIDER THE ADVANTAGES OR THE PASSION?

Hi Mr Lok. I am watching your video for so long and really like this one in which you made a strategy to socialize and help us through comments. Its like digging into a tunnel of a diamonds.
My question for you is related to investments. How successful people like you, think about investments? For instance how a person who follow a successful person like you can invest in assets, on which types of assets and the ratio of investments from different type of earnings. And how important is the role of investment to be a successful person like you?
I would love to watch this in bit detail or if extra tips that you can give to all the followers like me to achieve what we want.
And also i would love to share your thoughts about this with my friends on social networking sites!
I hope you would find this query important and useful
    -Regards and respect!

I thoroughly enjoyed your answer to this question. It confirmed my thoughts on how to approach, and with attitude to approach a possible mentor. I learned from this video that it’s important to have a connection with the mentor that goes a little beyond business. I should enjoy spending time with this person. It needs to be a good fit. I like that! One word of advice from me to you, cursing in your videos brings down your professionalism. It just doesn’t do your content any favors.

    Learnings
    - a mentor finds you. You just work on being mentor-able.
    - give give give value, don't go to a mentor for money or job. (Be an asset to them, not a liability)
    - respect their time!
    - do you share the same values with your mentor? (The qualities that you admire)
    - successful people are generous
    - when you find a mentor, GO ALL IN
    -

Hi I've been following your vids a while now. Thanks a lot for that. A lot of great material to work with, and quite a bit to take in. You asked what in some vids to say how it affected me. Well, a lot, but for now I'm implementing the Copywriting Formula to my website, which I'm now revamping. I'm operating from Belgium so it's in Dutch but will soon (hopefully) be in English. I'll drop you the link once it's finished. Thanks again.

Hi Dan, we do never know each other. But after watching few of your videos on youtube. I believe that we're having a bit same portion and shape of body. But you're much better in communicate and mentoring people. Such a good senior.
By the way, I'm Hendra from North Sumatera , Indonesia. Nice to know you.
I'd very glad if I can have some advice from you, that now I'm continuing my daddy's business, running a shop, selling kinda sphareparts of machine.
    I stopped my college,
At the first my daddy asked me to help him continuing his business, and so do I.
I've been doing it for about 8years and still the same. No big success at all. Just like the other employee that having bit bigger salary.
Suceeded buying a car, not yet a house, going to marry very soon.
But unfortunately it looks like my daddy make kinda changes like just it feels like he's not going to trust those business to me fully like what he said and promised.
So, what advice can you give to me, since my liabilities is on going bigger day by day. And I've lost almost my money for buying car and spending 'em for my coming wedding party.
Would glad to have any single advice from you. Thanks in advance Dan. Waiting for your respons. @DanLok

I've always wanted to be a business owner, since my grandfather owned a dry cleaners when I was very young. My family sold the business. So now 30 yrs later, I'm finding that I enjoy speaking to others and networking, However I am not as skilled in marketing as of yet. Does having a mentor create challenges when it comes to originality? Always learning and remaining coachable is the lessons I've received, I do believe it is important in the first 5 years. It feels as though having drive is important however feeling inadequate is also a possible feeling in the beginning. My question is, How should I listen? What steps should I take to discover self-worth? How should I contribute to my company which has been around and active for so long? How do I make my mark? How long do I wait to show what I can do?

Hi Dan. thanks for your videos.. They are very good. They really help someone to think and act clearly towards success. I have a question: I am doing my first profitable sale.. is doing fine I think... but I gave my client a low price for them to see my product. This is an important opportunity. It was almost a gift. The client told me: we like your product very much... How could I ask my client the right price next time without running him away?? This is the very important moment for me to get areal business. Thanks in advance for your answer.

very difficult. But I am sure that success doesn’t come easy. As such, to build and or have confidence in what will make you successful you got to have a mentor. I am beginning to find one mentor now Don and see how it work for me in Liberia.

    Hello Mr Lok,
I have a question for you pertaining service/sales.
Would using direct Mail to a saturated market with door to door knockers be good idea ?
Do you think by sending them direct Mail I would be creating a personal relationship by conveying I want to serve them and not sale l them. !!That my company actually does care to help them took the time to personally to deliver a hand delivered letter?

I was dying to get to know about Mentorship, this was Inspiring.
But, i have doubt: how would you relate your hability with copy to show them how you can add value at the same time you're being honest with no agenda in order to be mentored?
I'm asking this. Because although, you said the mentor finds you. I'm needing advices, but the people that I know are from different segment businesses.

I had a question cross my mind while watching your 9 skills that are hard to learn but will pay off forever video. I'm wondering how to incorporate these from a humanity standpoint. I definitely thrive off seeing results from my actions, but I work with the human being, say with disabilities. I want to continue to promote the person. I guess I'm struggling to merge the two.

what could i do to be mentored by you? or anyone looking to learn i have always dreamed of learning business from a great mentor. it is said in order to lead you have to learn how to follow and i believe that to heart, i know you are probably busy but could you give me some advice. you also mentioned that you worked for your first mentor for practically nothing and i had that same idea for a long time. to me what i would learn in the long run would be better than the pay i would get up front. if someone buys you something thats great but if they teach you how to make it thats even better.
