    Thanks, that was just the job for setting up. Not sure how I feel about my new watch yet. Legibility of time isn't immediate on the lighter face but I'll probably get used to it. As I have a beach for swimming and live in a hiking area it'll be useful. I'll wear it for the next week and see how I feel then.

    • @MirrlyonTime
      @MirrlyonTime  23 дні тому +1

      For legibility, I would set the complication hand to temperature instead of high tide or low tide. At least it will stabilize that hand from moving and be less confusing as a hand to look at for the time that is definitely a bit trickier on this one, but still a great watch.

    You have a knack for finding the coolest Timex watches Chris. This and the Waterbury chrono you had on some time ago are probably the nicest looking Timex watches i've seen, at least in the last couple of years. Absolutely love the analog display for the sensors on this watch. Sure, not the most readable, but very cool. The lug design is a bit disappointing, with the 16mm width. You are restricted to these flaring straps which i've always found a bit weird.

    • @MirrlyonTime
      @MirrlyonTime  Рік тому +2

      This one is definitely one of the very coolest ones and what’s available on the website now even better with sapphire crystals, little more money but a super cool tool watch here for sure!!

    You used the term "declination" which I construe to mean a celestial body's latitude of geographic position. Are you discussing magnetic variation when you set the compass 10° west?

    • @MirrlyonTime
      @MirrlyonTime  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes that’s correct, if you don’t adjust for declination angle you won’t be able to set to true north only magnetic north, at least that’s what my understanding is

    • @Thezedword12
      @Thezedword12 5 місяців тому

      Declination angle is the number of degree difference between magnetic North and True North and varies depending on where you are in the world.

      @@deemak3349 no, you don’t set the temperature. It has its own sensor as part of the “intelligence quartz” movement. It utilizes the caseback to measure temp so if it’s on your wrist it will measure your body temp, if you want to measure the temp in a room or under water leave it off wrist for at least 15 minutes it’s pretty darn accurate too! I used it to tell me the temp of my pool at home just dropped it in the pool and picked it up 10 min later to check. Pretty awesome feature

      The temperature gauge yes, the tide guage, well I suppose but it would be quite difficult I imagine to have a dead balls accurate tide complication given that high and low tides are different in different parts of the world. The temperature guage is very accurate too, but yeah it does take some time to recalibrate it from measuring the temperature from your wrist. I see what you are saying though for sure, if it were possible (not sure it is) to make either of these complications more accurate the watch would be much more expensive. It’s a budget watch so expectations should match I think. Thanks for watching and for your feedback! Appreciate it

    My takeaway is that this is a great watch as long as you're not wearing it.

      @@smackgibbs lol, the only function that is effected by weather temperature function, which would be obvious since it’s reading your body temp. The tide and compass work just fine while on wrist

    Where is this watch manufactured? Do you really believe that the pricing for this watch is on par with brands such as Citizen, Seiko, Victorinox and Citizen that are manufactured in Japan with Japan or Swiss movements? I don't see how the build quality and labor costs of a watch manufactured in India or China can justify a price tag of $269 USD?!

    • @MirrlyonTime
      @MirrlyonTime  Рік тому +1

      Might be the Philippines, and tbh I’m not sure what movement this has in it, but most likely a Japanese quartz of some sort. And I certainly didn’t pay 269 USD for this one. At the end of the day, it’s a fantastic tool watch, and what I paid I am happy with, you can find decent deals for these on Amazon. The ones on the Timex website that are 329 CAD (or were) on the bracelet do have sapphire crystal, and the build quality is decent but I do hear ya on the price point. Thanks for watching m8!

    This watch is packed with complications. And it could be much uglier. Pretty useless of course, but fun. 🕐👍👍

      Useless? Nope! I use it to measure the temp of my pool, and for the right person this is a bloody fantastic tool watch imo, but yeah it is complicated, cool
      And complicated haha

    none of this watch functions as advertised, horrible hand placement and additional features do not work. Do yourself a favor and skip timex altogether.

      If yours works fine I'd say 1 of 2 things is happening either they sent you one for a paid review and you got top treatment or two there are huge consistency issues. It's a handsome watch for all the complications but on mine the hour hand is about 15 minutes behind before it hits the indexes and the temp and compass are wildly inconsistent. Would wear for looks but the hour hand throws me. Maybe make a frankenwatch out of it but utter disappointment. @@MirrlyonTime

      @@LastThankG0DfreeAtLast not sure what your beef is, I bought this watch from Amazon, pretty sure I stated that in the video, my compass and temp work just fine. It’s a great watch. Sounds like you should return yours for another or refund if you don’t like the watch. If I had issues with this one I would have and Amazon would have given me no grief over it, where did you buy yours direct from Timex?

      I wouldn't call it beef I own 16 watches between casio, citizen and seiko with no complaints. I will be sending it back but it's the second timex I've given a chance and both have failed to perform. I simply have no interest in investing in timex anymore.@@MirrlyonTime

      I got the same watch last week . The compass was working initially. Now its way off. I tried calibrating but it didn't work.
