I'm 56 now and poor but I've lived on two yachts over two years sailed to the channel islands and in the 80s met Whicker at The Waters Edge hotel jersey from time to time All over now Including hotel gone but life is for living Scott uk
It's strange to think that most of these people will be either dead (including Alan Whicker) or very elderly now. It just makes me wonder what's it all about Alfie and all that deep stuff but that's life, I guess. Probably best not to think too much about it all. Thanks.
I was thinking about that too John. It’s really thought provoking to take a close look at these lives, knowing that they are mostly no more. Reinforces the familiar refrain of doing what you want as life is indeed very short.
I'd like to make a comment but i wont. Those poor girls, having the time of their lives, and enjoying every minute of it!.It was a different time then.I guess i did comment afterall.😊
Alan Whicker’s legs are a very strange colour 😂 and he is cringingly condescending, patronising and chauvinistic, but then back in 1971 most men were. He was a product of his time. Good to see Jol, Jenny and their beautiful boat.
@@Peter-733 ..that she'd rather sleep on deck rather than sleep with 3 men in cramped quarters (meanwhile guy looks over with unhappy face wishing she would rather sleep with them in cramped quarters lol)
@@bradford_shaun_murray yes your right i didnt catch that. i dont think he heard it though i think they just used a clip of him turning around to make it look like that
@@Peter-733 lol yeah i reckon that, they cut him in there to make it look like he's looking over and thinking like "great rejected again by the hot chick, and to think I had hopes with her, why the f am i even on this yacht" lol
I am surprised people are not talking about how offensive this series approaches everything. It's disgusting. It's like a sleaze-ball perspective on the world where the worst behavior is rewarded. The pompousness.....the arrogance....the predator-vibe,...... the stupidity.... no one else see's this?
The late...great...incomparable...Alan Whicker. Thanks for uploading these wonderful programmes.

Whicker was one of the great personalities of that time; particularly seen in retrospect.
Legendary TV presenter Sir Alan Whicker took us places and worlds one would never experience TV Gold. Now Anyone & everyone presents anything!! Zzzzz

One of my true regrets; not crewing on one of those magnificent craft, back in the day....

Worker has to be good looking.. their potential match has to have money 💰
I like the people he interviews but i actually find him condescending. I didnt originally but now I do.

Idle rich bore me

Yeah right …whatever
Some very male chauvinist moments ouch!
I find Whicker unlikeable. He was PC, as were all media people back in his day. Then as now.
Why watch it then. ?
PC??
You haven't watched many of his shows then.
