What a personality Wendy had, like opening a warm bottle of champagne. She seems like she is just having fun and not even trying, what an amazing talent. So sad to hear she passed at such an early age.

hard to believe she died 35 years ago, she would have been 59 years old if she was still alive

I wonder what Earl Scruggs thought when he seen or heard Wendy's dynamite version of his classic foggy mt breakdown. In my opinion Wendy was one of the greatest banjo players of all time up there with Earl. To many players always seem to want to play it exactly the way Earl Scruggs played it l love to hear the innovators put their own stamp on it and Wendy does it beyond belief God bless her she left us all way to soon RIP Wendy thank God for you tube that let's us witness your incredible talents and she could play fiddle and guitar just as well what a girl.

I will never forget getting to see Wendy and Jerry Clower at the Arkansas State Fair in the 80s. It was awesome and she was a great instrumentalist! Left this earth way to early.

Not only did I get to see Wendy Holcombe in this video but I also got to see The Great Charlie McCoy on harmonica. What a great treat!

Charlie McCoy is the greatest harmonica player ever, and that’s only one of at least two dozen instruments he plays.

Wendy always jumped around and had so much energy because she had an enlarged heart that was pumping more blood through her body than normal which replenished her muscles much faster creating an above normal requirement to expend that energy. It eventually cost her life. Such a sad tragedy.

Arguably one of the best five-string pickers of all time! But seriously it's possible to play this classic "Foggy Moutnain Breakdown" TOO FAST...and that's what she's doing.

Very late replying to this! Fred Newell is the guitar player. Worked a lot with Porter Wagoner
