- I hope you enjoyed the walk out on the shore with us. Sadly now restrictions have increased we may not be able to visit any of our favourite beaches for a while, but we wish everyone the best of health and take care. 😊💙
Haven't watched a video that I didn't enjoy once from your channel mate 👍 some shed videos on cleaning gear, servicing reels etc on the way maybe.. I think many anglers don't understand the importance ... keep up the good work 👍
You know these videos are a nice escape from the craziness going on all around us. Really appreciate your family and you giving us some peace and reflection.
Awe! When Mrs. FL put up her hand to her chest, faining relief that COOL SHARK was James was so priceless and kind of nostalgic in the most beautiful of ways! Loved it - one day when the world can travel again, I'm totally going here!
Love this video , I am a father with a disabled lad. He is my world. I see the love. You should be very proud of who you are...and your beautiful family. Big love.
just james learning all this stuff warms my heart , i live in pembrokshire (close to an amazing coastline ) and my boy wants to be a marine biologist and he enjoys the show and thanks to you and the family.
Nice winters walk john pity about the mount being closed great historical facts my mum who is 97 this year remembers going across on a tractor with huge wheels in the 1930 and having tea there how times have changed keep safe tight lines
- It is our pleasure David. It is a fascinating place and I do look forward to returning in the summer. Give our love to your mother and take care mate. 😉👍🏻
Good afternoon fish locker family 🙋 thank you for taking us along with you on this walk,l hope maybe one day you'll go back and show us around St Michaels Mount.lt looks fabulous as well as interesting.James .....oh what can l say 😚 big squishy hug.All the very best 🌱🌱🌱💕🎣
Love the stream open shot, what a day. Glad your all safe and well. Cheers for getting us through these terrible times. CHEERS FISHLOCKER FAMILY. Go steady.
Even James said it stinks here 🤭😂😆....looked like a very nice walk out John .....happy new year to yourself Hannah James and your daughter too...god bless 🙌👍
I watch your channel fishing, but, this was absolutely amazing, I love the input, the information, the history how many ! 25 minutes from you and wow that was really really fantastic! Totally stunning history and information, John you are really good and Hannah and James.
Wish we had this content when we we're young lads love this channel and the effort your family put in to create it! Keep it coming even my fishing hating missus loves it! All the best from the North East 👍
It’s what one does when there are no fish to catch, walk the beach. Even in winter, the ecosystem on the beach is alive. Helps with cabin fever till Spring. Great episode John!
Marazine is one of my favourite places, the mount is so mystical looking I think. Anyway lovely to see the 3 of you looking so well, thanks for making my shielding bearable again. Much love for mr shark and you both x
I like your style as a dad...I loved roaming with my dad...the high valleys and mountains of Western Montana where I grew up...and still live ...ventured far and always return to this amazing spot...we overturned stones in the streams to see what the hatch was, and like you always replaced it as we found it...a good lesson of us as hunter gatherers to pass on... just got in from my before dinner cross country ski in early march late afternoon, the sun alighting the 10000 foot peaks with alpen glow...bald and golden eagles foraging above the mule deer antelope and elk browsing...and the settling light brought out a couple great gray owls looking for voles..the coyotes and foxes patroling..thanks for sharing your wonderful world with me living thousands of miles away in a high snowy hill 5100 feet up in the rocky Mountains...you guys ever head this way....give a shout out, and we will share our special corner with you
That sounds like such and incredible spectacle to behold. We would be in our element. We love the outdoors and simply being out in nature. Have a wonderful day and stay safe. 😊
Am in a wheelchair now but have walked that beach and causeway so many times. My late husband worked with computers but his dream job was the little boats that ferry visitors when the tide is in and you don't fancy wet feet, although some times it is quite nice depending on depth of course. Thanks for a trip down memory lane could almost smell that seaweed, James reaction was so funny. You need strong legs to get to the mounts top.
Awesome world history lesson. You talked about things I forgot I learned in world history class in the 70's. So long ago. Interesting as usual. God Bless and stay safe.
Oh my goodness! Little James just makes my heart swell! Lovely story Mrs. Hannah! I ha e heard of Jack the giant killer but never knew where the story came from! This is by far one of your best videos Fishlocker family♥️
Wow! That's a beautiful area! I love how the path is submerged at high tide, then appears at low. And what a beautiful clear day you guys had. Love it! Wish I could send you some of our 23C temp! :) Looking forward to the summertime revisit there. (and of course, gotta love the shark hat!!)
I spent many happy hours there when I was a lad, first time I was about Jame's age, exploring chapel rock with my big brother and then sitting outside The Godolphin arms with Mum and Dad, happy days
Great stuff yet again John. Each time I watch one of your video's I learn something new. In this case it was the Giant of St. Michaels mount That lad Jack used to get around then, not only did he kill the Giant but then, off he goes & chops down an over sized Bean stalk putting an end to another one. Keep safe & well. Thank you.
I had no idea such a place existed! Very interesting. A reminder to me why some of the best Fantasy writers are from England. What a magical place...only accessible during low tide. Loved it.
Nice one thanks John! Looked like a great day for a walk with Hannah, James & yourself. Interesting about the worm casts - I didn't know that. Some good info & history about the Mount too - not been down that way for years. Difficult times - stay safe & well all of you. 👍👍
Enjoying the video thinking how nice it be to smell the wonderful salt air, and then you walk up unto the kelp,🤣.Well I guess maybe not. I will take your word on that. Enjoyed immensely, thank you.👍❤️U3
Watching your videos really makes me wanna visit Cornwall! It looks so peaceful and pretty. Well, first the world has to turn back to somewhat normal again.
Hi John I have spent quite some time in that bay and a local chap who lives at the back of the beach was fishing just to the left of where you started your walk catches Bass and flaties on a regular bases he uses a carp rod as you do not need to cast that far, the fish he says move along the shore so the fishing is good then slow.
Fantastic. I really enjoy your videos. I was just thinking, You should have your own tv programme. you are like the Fred Dibnah of the fishing world and I learn something every time I watch. It is nice that you include your lovely family as well. Thanks a lot
Brilliant video again John, lively place st Michaels mount been there a good few times. Some great history you and Hannah told their. James shark hood looked so good and suited him. Thanks again for the great family video. Take care mate and stay safe to you and the family 👍👍👍👍
In the 80’s they ran a shuttle boat service to get to the mount from the beach. The driver used to give you a ticket for the return journey. I used to forage just by that big rock next to the beach and causeway. Used a bit of limpet for bait and was convinced I wouldn’t catch anything. When I hooked an edible crab it frightened me and I ran for my life! This was during semi high tide though and was in it up to my waist aged about 12! 😂
I just can’t help myself but comment on your videos. Another really humble video of you and the family and I loved every minute of it. Being fairly local myself it brings back fond memories. As always, thanks for taking the time to educate me on some of the local wildlife. Keep up the good work, it always brings a smile to my face, especially when I see the enjoyment that the little one is getting from your time together outdoors. First class parenting.
Thank you for taking us with you on your walk, loved the history and natural history, Hannah's folktales were just brilliant (more please). But the first prize to James I have seen the rock but never knew it was a mermaids seat just wonderful 🙂👍👍👍👍👍
In Hawaii, went out with my kids today. Made Opihis (limpets) on the grill with soy sauce, garlic and chili pepper water. She loves your videos and loves eating what she forages
Right now in 🇿🇦,we on level 3 and restricted from going to the beach, rivers or dams, that's my calm place to be but unfortunately cannot go..so it's awesome watching u guys ,feels like I'm there too😊♥️
John I love how you are absolutely on point when talking Sea life..Then i chuckled when you were talking about the age of the island. You were like...."The island has been around for a long time..It's........well part of the Earth." LOL...Good thought mate...Lol. On a less funny note...When you were discussing the Sea lettuce and Sugar Kelp...it reminded me of a Coastal Foraging video I watched from here in the United States off the coast of Washington. The asian family was gathering Seaweeds amongst other things..Razor clams...Welks...and mussels.Even though they stayed well within what their licenses allowed...Alot of the shellfish were just minimum legal size. I have noticed even here where i live on the east coast of Florida...during the winter months like now..the Asian families are gathering the Cannonball jellyfish for eating. Problem is they take everything they see.Well mate...Another awesome video.Great family fun. Oh by the way...Is Sugar Kelp edible like Bull kelp is here? Calm seas and tight lines. From your friend on the other side of the pond.
- Just giving my common sense no fluff take on things mate. 😉 Haha. As for the comment about the Asian family taking everything. That is a terrible issue here in the U.K. Entire swathes of the coast destroyed. Ecosystems picked clean by that same demographic. So very frustrating.
@@TheFishLocker Yeah...You know the sharks here were almost completely wiped out due to finning back in the 80's and 90's for shark fin soup. However it has now become a 'good' problem that the sharks as well as the American Red Snapper and the Goliath grouper have come back in Biblical proportions. Now the problems are..they need to open those species up to harvest even if it is something. The oceans reefs are now I overpopulated and is causing damage because as you know the ecosystem can only handle so much. One example...Back in the 1960's and 1970's which was the heat of that fishery....a 'Bonanza' of Red Snapper on a reef would contain around 30,000 pounds of them. NOW that same section of reef will contain approx a half million pounds of Red Snapper. With a zero harvest except for approx 4 days a year..yes.. 4 days....its overwhelming the entire Oculina reef system. But anyways....lots more stories..another time...Cheers mate. From your friend on the other side of the pond.
Love watching these videos along with the coastal foraging ones. Just as good as the actual fishing ones. Not only are they great to watch but so informative too. Guess we are so lucky to live in this part of the UK. You and your wonderful family stay safe.
John you have inspired me to re start up my UA-cam channel. I used to have a channel but I lost interest. Your videos have helped me to re start my channel, thank you❤️👍🐟🦞🦀
Very cool. I had no idea that you had your own Mont St Michel in your back yard. You must have large tidal swings where you are. A very nice video. You look a lot warmer than in the last one, t😜oo
Love watching your videos john , dont care if it's a coastal walk , beach forage , fishing from the shore or boat . Always great content I learn from every video. Just wets my appetite for when this bloody virus is under control and we can get out and about , so looking forward to a cook up on the beach with whatever ! Stay safe mate .
Another great foraging video, pity the Mount was shut. I got lost on there when I was about James age, causing my mother to nearly have kittens, she was convinced I have gone over the edge, when in fact I had just followed a different tour party. I was lost for over an hour, not bad going for such a small place.
Hi John, many thanks for sharing some of the history of the Mount, We have visited three summers ago, Had a cream tea which was great. we also went around the Castle. It was very cosy, have quite small windows and very thick walls, Great story about the Giant as well, many thanks to your wife, cheers Ian

My daughter tested positive for covid today :(
Please stay safe. Look forward to many more videos as you can when its safe to do so.
Once covid comes to an end the fish locker and brodie moss from youngbloods spearfishing should do a collaboration here in Australia.

- There are a few folks who live permanently on the island. He doesn't complain much at all ever. He's a greta kid. 😊
I was listening to the folklore Mrs. Locker was telling and all I gotta say is...
Its always a Jack.
- Always.
Lovely family outing John, so interesting
- Thank you Jack. Have a great day. 👍🏻

Enjoyed the walk out guys. it's many years since I was at the mount.....it was closed then too....LOL All the best to all the family.
- I was disappointed but not surprised. We are going to return in the summer. 👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker It's that long ago if I remember right I got an ice cream as compensation from my mum...LOL
- I know how you feel mate. Let us hope it is all under control soon and we can have a safe summer. 😊
Another great foraging video, pity the Mount was shut. I got lost on there when I was about James age, causing my mother to nearly have kittens, she was convinced I have gone over the edge, when in fact I had just followed a different tour party. I was lost for over an hour, not bad going for such a small place.
- Haha. I bet she was distraught!! Fine place isn’t it. I look forward to going back. 👍🏻🎣🐟
Nice vid, thanks for making it 😁👍🏻
- Any time. 😉👍🏻
I ❤️ 🦈 and 🧜♀️, stories of ole, and crab hunts!!! Keeps the videos coming!! (Good story telling Hannah!!)
