      I don’t siphon the substrate in my planted aquariums, as there is no need to do so. The bacteria in the soil and the gravel break down organic waste and convert it into nutrients for the plants.

      You can mix vermicompost with soil in a ratio of 10:1. You can also mix a handful of eggshell powder with the soil but don’t use bone meal, it has high levels of phosphate.

    Hi, do plants melt in summer? Last year my tank got ruined because of excess temperature I think. Lost all the plants and moss due to that.
    Temp was going up to 31°. Is it fine for plants or there is something else that caused plants and moss to melt?
    Bdw I don't have Co2 in my tank.

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  Рік тому +1

      Although most tropical plants can survive in water above 30°C, most have better form and coloration at lower temperatures. On the other hand, some plants and mosses turn yellow at temperatures above 29°C and begin to melt. So, temperature plays a powerful and silent role in planted aquariums. But CO2 is also very important for healthy plant growth. I recommend using CO2 in your planted tank.

    Done like a pro.
    After how many days you introduced fish to the tank?
    Did you get any alage problem in between?

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  Рік тому +1

      I added fish to the tank after 3 weeks. The tank initially had brown algae / diatoms and then staghorn algae. But it didn't cause any problems and disappeared after a few weeks. Thank you.

      @@madebykm It's been 3 weeks on my new setup. Plants have not rooted well yet. I'm seeing diatoms. I'm scared to introduce any fish as they might uproot all the dwarf hair grass.

    Please tell me how do you control algae on grass and plant i have tried it and algae killed my setup

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  Рік тому

      Add algae eaters such as brislenose pleco, amano shrimp, siamese algae eaters to your tank. They will efficiently control the growth of algae.

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  Рік тому

      Also change 50% of your tank's water once every week.

    • @madebykm
      @madebykm  Рік тому

      Providing the right amount of light, CO2 and fertilizer is very important to keep algae growth under control. An imbalance of these factors will cause excessive growth of algae. Check description for more information.

      It is very easy to use. The first thing you need to do is add a little water to the CO2 bubble counter. Then, connect the tubing from the CO2 generator to the bottom end of the bubble counter. Next, connect the tubing connected to the CO2 diffuser at the top end of the bubble counter, and you are ready to go.
