I’m back again to re watch this , U ARE A GOAT! The color coordination of your tracks reminded me of Kobe . I love you for being a strong character for my music career.
Thank you for sharing. You've really cleared my mind on doing just this. You are the best I've seen so far. I love the way that you showed your workflow along with explanations for your settings, which is very helpful. I'm definitely going to check out your music. I liked, subscribed and will be checking out your other videos. Thank you.
I’m very grateful for your very kind words sir. Thank you for your sub and like of the video. It is gratifying to know that the video has been helpful to you and I hope my other content will also be helpful. 🙏🏾
Man, pretty great vid. So many videos don't go into "why" I need to execute a certain step. Or "why" I need to use a certain plug in. I don't just want to be shown what to do, but why I'm doing it. I know you probably have to skip so much detail in order to keep the videos short, but for the most part, you do a much better job explaining these type of steps, and as a beginner I really appreciate this. Great video, I'll be using it as a reference to go back to for sure. And subscribed!
I really appreciate the sun and the great comment. You’re 100% correct in that I have to cut away a great deal of the process from time to time in order to keep the length of the video down. People aren’t that interested in longer videos these days. Hopefully the key points I’ve kept in will still provide enough guidance to get you there. Thanks once again for your very kind words. Cheers 😀
Suscribed! Full on. Excellent video. I love boom bap and incorporating live instruments. You nailed this. Showing the F1/16 swing on the kick and how you pushed back the snare and hats was really helpful. I'm gonna check out your video on how to make an 808 in Alchemy next. Props man!
Thanks so much for your excellent feedback. I’m grateful for the sub and the awesome comment. Yes please do check out my 808 videos and my other boom bap videos. Would love to hear your thoughts on those as well. Massive respect 👍🏾
So sorry for the delay in replying Tom. Here is a playlist of my Hip Hop production tutorials. Do let me know what you think. Thanks. Duce ua-cam.com/play/PL22jTj3NIdJSMPWHgMOjibyvfClXj5aeX.html
Yo man, you got some kind of super high frequency happening periodicaly through the video ( i'm at 4:58 mins so far ) it's potentially comming from the mic/mic to computer or digital interface connection or something picking up a hum.. So, maybe some kind of grounding interference?. All just guesses. * It's a similar frequency/tone to the tone that people used to hear coming from the old CRT televisions we all had. It's got to be in the high 18,000+ Hz range because it is audible but barely - enough to be unpleasant and mess with an otherwise good video. Great topic and video!
Absolutely great spot my friend. As it turns out on the day of making this video I had a number of vintage pieces of kit running in the studio which would have accounted for the unusual annoying frequency. I’m definitely paying closer attention to the audio quality going forward if I’ve got any of my old school gear hooked up on the day. Nice one 👍🏾
Hello, am a complete beginer, i got a song i want to record, but i got no budget to it, i have pc, downloaded logic pro and some samples, was trying to follow the beat you are making, and it is exact beat that flows to the song i have written but i seem not hap boom bap snare, hi hat and kick like you have in the tutorial here, Any help will of much help to start of musical career. Thanks

Thanks for asking Jakob. The drum samples I used for this track are not Logic samples. They are from my Hip Hop sample library that I use for this kind of production. 😀
That’s very kind of you. I really appreciate your very kind words. To check out my material on Spotify or Apple Music. I’d love your feedback on that as well. Cheers. 😀
Hmmm 🤔 I’d tend to disagree with you. Yes of course a lot of hip hop features electric bass. As a bassist myself I know too well how great bass lines have been sampled and injected into classic hip hop tracks but so too have synth basses. In fact the 808 bass/kick is a synth bass and a cornerstone of hip hop music. Just my humble opinion 🙂

Wow!!! I’m honoured to be considered in that light bro. Truly appreciated. Big up 👊🏾
3:09 Yes! Quantize! A must do if you program hip hop drums!
Yes using the right quantize valves for your drums can determine the overall groove of your production. Cheers 😀
Man, that tip for the sampling is so clutch
Boom 💥 Let’s get it 👍🏾
Thank you! This is exactly the type of explanation and visuals I need to learn Logic. The guitar was a solid addition to the instrumental.
Thank you for your very kind words. I’m so happy you found the video helpful. Lots more to come so stay tuned. Cheers 😀

Is the bap snare, kick, and hi hat in logic or a separate plugin?

Seems uncommon with synth bass in hip hop!

Boop bap is a derogatory term used in the same vein as mumble rap is.
That’s useful to know 😀
