My brother and I fished the Kankakee east of Momence a few years back. We launched at the old River Isle ramp. When we wear getting ready to leave I noticed that someone cut the trailer wiring harness. Luckily, I was able to splice it back together. Some people are just total passive aggressive jerks.
Yeah that sucks. Sorry that happened
Thanks for sharing your river adventure. Your co angler Nate excelled at Species for the day. You handled the bank “Karen” very maturely, good for you.
Yeah Nate was on fire! Thanks for watching!
Blown tires and crazy locals. I love that your buddy in the kayak went right over there after he bounced. You were plenty far away. That was an impressive gar, snagged or not.
They must be friends because I saw him load his kayak into that guy's truck. He didn't say anything to us but I understand if he took the other guy's side. Gotta prioritize IRL relationships over a "youtuber" you've met like 3 times. Thanks for watching, man!
He really did give you something to put on UA-cam 😂
Some shore fishermen genuinely get annoyed the second a boat appears in an observable distance, lol.
Yeah it be like that, lol. Thanks for watching, man!
Hahah, he kept his word!
Lol that he did
Besides that weird altercation we had a pretty good time on the river. Nice one!
Thanks, man! It was a good time!
Great video! That guy was 100% in the wrong 😂
Thanks for the comment!
Yeah, some people are extremely protective of their spots.
I shoulda went with you guys. I miss all the good stuff. I coulda hung out with that dude on the bank for about a minute or two.
Lol that probably would not have been a good idea 😂
good video..good to see your lures producing.
Yeah, it is! We gotta do a Holston River collab one of these days!
I'm really curious about those huge schools of fish you see. I remember them from last year. Have you ever tried fishing this place in late October? I'm guessing you would smash them. My other thought is - would the water be clear enough for an underwater camera? It would be really interesting to drift through the school with the camera. It seems all the fish in the river are stacked there and you might find some fish that really surprise you. My third thought is - I've noticed that a nightcrawler works really good until the water temps get low (say 40F or below). After that I struggle to catch anything on them for some reason. Minnows still work but worms can sit there all day and not get touched. Nice gar, that was a stud!
The big schools are mostly channel cats, followed by Silver carp, and I assume Buffalo and Drum. I did drop an underwater camera down on a trip that didn't get uploaded. The visibility was only about 6" when I brought the camera, so I couldn't see the whole school, but it was enough to bump into a ton of channel cats. Also, I've seen other videos from a connected river close to this one where people drop down gopros. Their results were channel cats > buffalo > silver carp > drum, all mixed together.
From what I've seen, this spot peaks in early November. One of these years I'll go then. Thanks for watching, man!
Great channel!
Thank you!!
Hard for shore walkers to find deep water especially when weather is getting colder caught some nice wallies and a ski last week on the Fox river in Illinois
Nice! I love the Fox river

Hope Santa brought you some Gar gloves for next time 😊
I think common sense would've helped me a bit more 😂
There is a certain small percentage of anglers that hate UA-camrs. If you run into one of those people there is no reasoning with them. Their mind is made up and their only goal is to ruin your day. I think you handled it as well as you could've. Do they make bullet proof life jackets?
Lol, I don't think so.
What kind of fish your catching
Depends on this fish, haha. We caught sauger, white bass, hybrid striper, walleye, channel catfish, longnose gar, and rock bass
What net are you using?

That guy is a douche
I fish off boats and banks
I was at evergreen and guy came up started fishing and a boat came through trolling and this guy was like I thought the markers meant they couldnt come in here 🙄
You were plenty far from that guy. 25 yards is the unspoken rule.
Use to love evergreen got back into goin out there and the fishing is sorta crap now.
Dang, that sucks to hear. I love Evergreen!
@@EngineeringHooksets would love to fish with you though!! If you are cool with that sort of thing
@@Npoulsonshooting Idk if you heard the part at 3:15 or not, but I live in TN now, lol. I guess if you want to drive to Knoxville, sure we can fish haha.
@@EngineeringHooksets ah crap
I didnt
Thats too bad
You look like ud be fun to fish with at evergreen
Keep up the videos buddy.
I may venture around this year for uspsa competition but not sure for fishing
I did a lot of bass tournament fishing and got burnt out on it
Mostly why i do walleye now
I usually have issues with home owners who have fits because they think we hit their pontoon boats, one old guy this past summer looked like he was having a stroke.
That guy in your video was being an ahole for sure 😂
I hate those home owners that think they own the river. Thanks for watching!
