Thanks guys! I opened the hood a freaked out. I watched your video and thought he’ll, I can pull this off! Went to Costco and picked up an Interstate battery for $189, brought it home, put it in, and was back on the road to Costco with the core in an hour after following the video step by step. Oh, for the days when you could swap out a battery in 5 minutes!
Thank for the video. Never work on a car before, my car died in the driveway and I was able to replace the batter by watching this video. But one thing though, you definitely made it look so easy. It took me 3 hours to replace my battery
My man... thanks so much for watching. I am glad you were able to get it done. I promise next time you will make it look very easy as well since you know what to do! Thank you for watching. Glad we could help
Never did I think changing the battery would look like THIS!! Thank you for taking the time to go over this. Just the cover alone was surprisingly stumping me.
Your the man for this video. Just saved myself some bucks. I thought I was gonna have to pay a shop to replace my battery when I popped my hood and saw what it looked like
Same…. Nowadays these vehicles aren’t anything like I remember. I saved $110.00 in labor cost alone, at the local mechanic shop. Including the battery he was asking $389.00. I said NOPE! ,…I’m not a sucker.
Just wanted leave my thanks. Was halfway to work when the wife called saying battery was dead. Turned around, got it jumped, went to local auto parts store. They said they aren’t allowed to replace batteries on newer vehicles but can loan me all the tools needed free of charge. This was the first vid that popped up in the search results, and it’s perfect. Thank you. Does anyone know if it’s normal for tire sensors to go blank after changing battery?
Thank you for your video! This is the second time I'm going under the hood of an American car, and it's the same deal. I see things that make me wonder, couldn't they have done better and simpler? 😂 But I'm the handy friend, lol, I can't say no. At this point, I can't help but be thankful for the simplicity of Japanese cars. They keep things as simple as they can. I could've started taking stuff apart and been cocky about it, but that isn't how I roll. I could tell there were computers and stuff, so I didn't want to mess up. Thank you for confirming that it is just overcomplicating things for no reason.
Thank you, Brother ! May this process a lot easier and a hell of a lot easier. Honestly, I was fixing to go freakin house and just start smashing stuff, so thank you. Plus, it saved me, probably a buck fifty to install it. Great video.
Thank you!! I got to where the top module needed to come off and thought the strap had to come off first. Phew saved me some frustration. Wish I had found this yesterday!
You're a lifesaver! After three people, one hour and multiple curse words, I was finally able to install the new battery. 😵💫 This design should be illegal.
Thank you so much for this video. It sure did the trick! I would not have been able to do this very complex (for what should be a simple battery replacement task) without it. I particularly like how you show all the steps for *both* the removal of the old battery *and* installation of the new one. Follow this guide all the way through and you won’t miss a step, or have pieces left over that don’t seem to have a home!
You're very welcome. Thank you for watching. Glad it did the trick for you! We appreciate the comment and your kind words. Thanks again. Always happy to help.
Do you recommend changing the battery with the car on? Might be dumb question but I’m asking because car mechanic told me do it with the car on or you may reset the codes for the car and then have to take it to the dealer?
Thank you, very informative and clear instructions.. New tech have to much BS on it, give me a 80s car anytime on my 78 corolla I used one plier, 3 sockets and 2 screwdrivers and dismantle almost all the car😂😂
Hey! You forgot the front battery securing bolt cover! Lol jk thank you so much!!! Made changing my battery super easy! I don’t have enough to pay someone to work on my car lol.
@@HidalgoMotorsCo My 2015 main battery was replaced but it now has been not starting, should the aux battery have been disconnected before replacing new main battery?
Thank you so much Hidalgo brothers - you saved me some real time and money watching this video! Local auto parts store guys would probably have butchered this project. So would I, had I not watched your video first.
hey thank you i left mine sitting for a while in garage due to COVID triple AAA came out twice jumped me and I asked around was informed the battery is 200 something plus to replace i can imagine what repair shops cost. I need to know the tools used to loosen the battery the bolts. i heard you say 8-13mm but when i go to the auto store what is the tool called i never had to buy one before and yes I am a female trying to do this on my own thank you. i cant really see what the tool looks like in ur video. your video otherwise is very helpful thank you so much!!!
Thank you very much . pls can you help me get a battery case and terminals of Chevy Malibu 2015.2.5L to buy .is very urgent pls kindle let me hear from you ..thank you
I would rather take a 1/2 hr. To replace this battery than try to replace spark plugs, on a V6 Chevy engine or Ford for that matter I own a 2015 Malibu and changing plugs is a breeze 15 mins tops
It may be a good idea to disconnect the ground from the battery in the trunk incase the two are not isolated. Thanks for the video showing all the GM got yas on this poor design. Also, don't forget to install the front bolt cover piece.
Great video. However, dont forget to mention how much f'ing plastic their is everywhere. And if its been a while you've changed your battery, better consider just breaking the plastic off.
Seriously right? Why can't It be simple? They want you to bring it to the shop so they can charge you an arm and a leg haha. Thank you for watching. We really appreciate it.
Why ????? I thought the battery behind the tire was the strangest thing But his maybe the silliest way to Install a battery in history!!! Completely weird
What a pain in the ass to remove a battery. Give me an old style battery on top, remove the cables and your done! Piece of junk! Why did they make it so hard??
I would never buy this type of car again in my life. It gives so much problems! Difficult problems that always hand in hand with something else. Don’t recommend this car or even a Chevrolet CRUZE. Don’t do it!!!! Wish I would’ve known. I have had mine for 4 years and have invested so much on it, when I also got screwed in the dealership on the retail price. My daughter bought a CRUZE & she’s invested on it so much as well.
My wife had this car for 5 years before we met. Only took it to the dealership for work. When we got together, the next 5 years were nothing but problems including needing a new transmission at 140k miles! And it's a sealed transmission so they had to do a ton of extra work to install it. I replaced the serpentine belt myself and had to remove the passenger tire. Now this bullxrap work just for a battery. I told her the next car I'm inspecting it first. She bought this malibu way before we met. It's a piece of crap. N

3 years after this video was uploaded and it's still helping people do the Malibu nightmarish battery replacement.
Thank you! 🙏🏻
👍🏻👍🏻
Love it. Clear, concise, informative, and didn't leave out a single step.
Someone tell me why it was necessary for Chevy to place the battery like this
Please
So you say "hell with this" then pay their techs to do the job
Exactly! This is too much.
Just took this job on to replace my grandpa’s battery. Looks like that backfired..this should be fun.
Chevy is owned by china,China copies everything, looks like they copied this from BMW.

Thank you, Brother ! May this process a lot easier and a hell of a lot easier. Honestly, I was fixing to go freakin house and just start smashing stuff, so thank you. Plus, it saved me, probably a buck fifty to install it. Great video.

Just saved me $110.00 on labor cost alone. Thanks 👌🏽 ……stay blessed 👍🏽
This was really helpful. I used to turn a wrench in the 90s but these newer cars...ugh! Very much appreciated!
Do you recommend changing the battery with the car on? Might be dumb question but I’m asking because car mechanic told me do it with the car on or you may reset the codes for the car and then have to take it to the dealer?
So you mean to tell me mechanics are charging 100 dollars for this 💀
My car wont start after swapping my battery
Thanks a ton ive been dreading this since the battery died earlier this week.
Thank you, very informative and clear instructions.. New tech have to much BS on it, give me a 80s car anytime on my 78 corolla I used one plier, 3 sockets and 2 screwdrivers and dismantle almost all the car😂😂
Amazing video!! So straight forward thank you!!!

Great vid. thanks

Thanks for video. Super helpful changing my 2014 battery.

Thank you very much . pls can you help me get a battery case and terminals of Chevy Malibu 2015.2.5L to buy .is very urgent pls kindle let me hear from you ..thank you

Replaced battery lights work but engine won’t turn over
Thanks for the help, everything worked out just like you said it would!

Looks easy, but looks can be deceiving, so I ended up here.
So many people in winter at autozone trying to do this screaming
I just have to ask why???? Chevy of course has to make it difficult
Holy fucking dog shit this is an Absurd amount of work just to replace a battery but thank you so much for this video!
Sheesh, hope these batteries last 4+ years with that complicated setup. In AZ they usually don't.
My 2015 that I bought new still has the factory battery. 3 years in south Texas and 5 in Georgia. It's still passes testing.
It's the same for 16
Bruh I can't get the 13mm to twist its stuck. Also the fuse is stuck
Great video. However, dont forget to mention how much f'ing plastic their is everywhere. And if its been a while you've changed your battery, better consider just breaking the plastic off.

Dam. I what to have a 5 door to work on. I go back to a 1973 350. You can work on it.
Changing the battery on a Malibu about 45min. My Tacoma 5min …… 😑
Not all of us are lucky enough to own a Tacoma :(
Tacoma coming soon lol 😆
Thank you for watching my friend
Why ????? I thought the battery behind the tire was the strangest thing
But his maybe the silliest way to Install a battery in history!!!
Completely weird
Extremely poor design. Just had to pay $640 (Canadian) to replace and install a new battery. Crazy. Thanks GM.
Chevy is tripping
Chevy sucks. What a dumb setup. But hey thanks for the video!
What a pain in the ass to remove a battery. Give me an old style battery on top, remove the cables and your done! Piece of junk!
Why did they make it so hard??
Wtf was Chevy thinking
This is way too much. A battery change shouldn’t be that complicated…
All that Bs you have to disconnect first. I don’t like it. Nice video tho.
Every time ya think it’s don’t YOUR DEFEATED
I have only one thing to say. F$#@ CHEVY
