Its very very easy to get caught up in trying to put too much emphasis on style points and trying to hit weird timings or using specific units. Basic fundamentals of macro will always win you games in mid elo. Only at like masters beyond do true timings matter. Pre master its usually just having more army than your opponent by not floating minerals
Even 2 years later this build is still so strong at its roots I’ve gotten to masters very easily (with a few slight changes) after not playing for years
Just a small tip (because I kept getting this wrong), you'll see around 06:00 that he moves his High Templar out of his wall before merging them into Archons. If you do it inside your wall then they will get stuck! If they get stuck, you can use your Warp Prism to pick and drop them but its annoying and uses up some APM.

Yeah Ive also been watching Vibes B2GM but recently tried a 8 gate 2 base all in with stalker/zealot/archon and 1 forge, which has a higher win rate so far. Now I see I was doing something similar to this video, which is encouraging. Will definitely try this build out
@@ProbeSC2I’m probably so dumb but what do the numbers next to the builds mean (Example: 17 pylon) Edit: just read some comments, so it’s the amount of probes you should have when you build it?
I've been playing for about 1 year and managed to get Zerg to Plat 3 following ViBE's B2GM but I've always preferred Protoss and wanted to switch. This tutorial has really helped me out! I like the way it flows. I've lost a few times but definitely winning more than I lose around 2700 MMR in EU. Hoping to try and get to Diamond. Thanks a lot for the great content!
One thing I think you should DEFINITELY include in this guide is how to properly wall off. It’s such an understatement how valuable a PROPER wall that doesn’t box out your immortals is lol. My life changed when I nailed it down, and I beat a lot of protoss as Zerg that don’t wall off properly 😂
Great build! It helped me significantly improve and i went from Bronze to Gold in just one day. My macro has improved alot and i feel like i can start trying other builds for fun.
haven't played in a good 10 or so years. Things have changed a lot, and have to re-learn key bindings etc. Thanks, will give this a shot later when I am off work.
I'm doing this and it has been working, I'm currently Plat 2 and win consistently. I've gotten better at scouting so I can modify the build depending on what I see
literally won 19 games in a row with this, and have gone from low gold to high plat. the only time i lost was an early game terran who was harassing me pretty much the entire game and really preventing me from getting momentum. but everyone else... none of them can deal with the timing push @ 7 minutes or so. knocking on their door with 2-3 immortals, 2-3 archons, 2-3 stalkers, and 10+ zealots, along with warp ins, pretty much seals the deal every time in lower ranks. No one can deal with it. even turtled up terrans. and the unit ocmposition is rounded enough to counter anything they can muster in that time. air units? Archons + stalkers. mass bio? zealots + archons. turtle with tanks and bunkers? Immortals I'm also finding it SUPER useful to hit their mineral line with a 7 zealot warp in while i simultaneously hit their front. I'm finding that to be VERY effective.
"Don't worry about what's happening on the outside of the map, just worry about what YOU'RE doing"....words that I've never heard someone so advanced say before. But you are advanced much further than me so...I'll take it.
i played over a decade of zerg. multiple master. i only came back to try toss. practised a month of macro. multitasking trainer. minute micro. custom maps. ladder. everything what comes after the 2nd base. it gets complicated. or maybe after the third base. even after this month. toss macro is still very hard to master for me personally. i gave this build a shot. practised it twice vs A.I. and then on ladder 3 games (3,5k mmr). 1 vs each race. everytime easy win so far. i am surprised how easy it was. i will definitely play this build more. edit: 6 wins in a row. this build feels good.
I used this build yesterday and won a D2 zerg player! I still forgot to build a sentry, and my prism got killed during the push. But I still managed to win in the end. Feeling good! Thanks man for the ez build order!
Thank you for this! Just got a GG at the 10 min mark using this against Zerg. He attacked my wall twice too, which that robo, stalkers and sentry shield wall with two or 3 zealots did great! Roaches and lings never stood a chance against plus 1 att/shield Bumped me from Silver tier 1, r29 to gold tier 3 rank 33. Now to see how badly I really suck with it xD at gold. You're not kidding though, macro is key.
This build is honestly SICK! My all time high have always been platinum, I havent played the game in 4 years according to match history, now after practicing a bit against bots, I just beat 2 MASTERS!
The video is pure gold, I just started playing pvp and i got absolutely recked despite having 130 APM and abundant knowledge of the game (co-op and campaign) because my macro sucks. Now im practically bullying enemies since they cant flex (mass marine, mass BC, mass thor etc)
Want to reiterate that I think this build is great! Went from gold 2 to diamond 2 following this build order (2500->3500 MMR) after practicing the build vs AI frequently and laddering. I see a lot of people comment that the build is hard for a total beginner and cheese due to no scouts. Might be a bit tough for a total beginner, but following the general build order without supply numbers already gives you a good guideline on how to play. Like just build robo and battery after your core finishes, and make sure to attack when your prism finishes and keep warping in units/pylons when you can. For cheese, you can add in scout with the probe that builds your gateway, but otherwise your first observer/hallucinated phoenix will give you time to react to aggressive builds like 3 rax. The build isn't perfect; I have trouble vs things like early toss aggression or mine drop. But it will definitely get you to diamond if you're anywhere near the benchmark of 88 supply by 6:00, since you will usually have way more army than your opponent. When fighting, keeping your army together helps me a lot. And some basic micro can help out, like loading 4 zealots into your prism and dropping them over Terran walls on top of tanks.
Just to comment on what you struggle with (mine drop and toss aggression). PvP is expected. I've tried my best to make a 1 size fits all build, and unfortunately PvP tends to throw the spanner into that :). The fact you are experiencing that is probably a good sign that the rest is going well for you. For mine drops, unfortunately I can't solve that with any build. That just comes down to individual practice. Even I just randomly lose to mine drops now in my old age. Thanks for the comment, you summed it up well.
@@ProbeSC2 @ProbeSC2 Thanks for the reply! I'm guessing this build could work at pretty high level on maps with a ramp for PvP as well? since Maxpax plays so much 1 gate expand. Been playing some more 2 gate expand and trying your blink into charge 3 base all in, albeit I'm nervous opening 2 adepts into 4 sentries since my control isn't so good loll. I do like the timing of that build 😊
@@Fimbu1vetr yeah generally at high level, if you wanted to do this build, you would just do it off 2 gate expand. The timings are slightly delayed, but the feel for it is the same. In fact this build (off 2 gate) was the standard in the matchup for many years in LOTV. Only really changed when they nerfed the upgrade timings and the chargelot. From then on, shield batteries with mass stalkers was just better at the highest level.
@@Fimbu1vetr Yeah it was unstoppable. You would have to stop at 45 probes and do this chargelot archon style yourself and hopefully match upgrades. If you didn't, you would just lose :D You would take a 'fake' third as part of it, but only saturate it once both players couldn't beat each other.
Hahaha! Ty for the video but damn I am lol'ing pretty good. At 3:21 you say "mmkay" and the nostalgia kicked in. I'm thinking to myself. Okay Mr.Mackey! lol
Was intrigued by this build and thought I'd try it. I'm D3 Protoss. Played 10 and won 7 and lost 3. Don't feel like I did the build as tightly as I could but actually still won sometimes even after taking bad probe damage. The build is good for helping you focus on Macro but it is easily abused and can be difficult to hold strong cheeses. For more standard games though the size and composition of the army you create in about 6 mins is very strong and can often just roll over the opponent even if they are also going for a strong 2 base push.
Exactly! Yeah obviously when I'm trying to create a catch all build it is going to let some things slip by. Diamond is definitely the league where you need to start scouting and changing your early game based on what you see, so I'm not surprised by your results. I definitely still believe in focusing on macro first, and then learning the defense for things you actually lose to, rather than trying to cover everything.
@@ProbeSC2 Thanks. I need to get comfortable that winning more games than you lose is actually progress. I'm pretty hardstuck in D3 because I think I compromise my macro to attack hard early or try to cover off all possible early attacks. I know macro should be absolutely top priority but it just sucks so bad when a cheeser crushes you while you are diligently building probes!! I did beat someone 600 MMR higher than me with your build though so it shows how powerful it can be.
I can. Before then, just take the advice of constant probe production, constant unit production, then you can do almost anything. The tricky bit might just be figuring out how many production buildings you need
Thank you for this video! This actually got me playing again and took me from Plat 3 to Diamond 3 🎉 PvP seems to be the most difficult matchup for this build now that I'm in diamond (33% win-rate). I just can't hold those 1-base all-ins 🏳 Not that I'm doing it perfectly either :p PvZ is my strongest matchup with this build and still getting ~65% win-rate in diamond. My favorite thing about this is I got to practice this build so much and get really comfortable with it as I used in every matchup for so long, which freed up my mind to focus on Protoss macro skills. Now I'm working on the standard PvP build you've outlined here ua-cam.com/video/7xpi5ngSIqY/v-deo.html to address that weak-point of my game. All that to say, thank you for making all this content that allows me to develop my game a step at a time rather than that overwhelming feeling of needing to hit the ground running with 3 build orders. I feel way more comfortable with my game! 🍻
Glad to help! Yeah PvP can be a bit tricky, but the great thing is you can just do the 2 gate expand variant and still transition into the exact same style. Keeping it simple was the plan!
@@Fimbu1vetr Yeah I recommend 5 or 6 unit expand like that, then first tech building after nexus being robo. The order of buildings after that is exactly the same. It'll be safer and more PvP specific, but that is a good thing, as you get more advanced.
hey i started playing this game yesterday. what key do you use to change the view between your two nexuses? my gameplay is slow as i'm new to this game and i wanna learn to control the fluidity better. thanks
Camera location hotkeys. It can be a bit advanced, although not impossible to learn, and once you get used to them you can't not use them they are that good!
I am very new to starcraft and have watched lots of guide videos this one seems to be my favorite but I struggle with getting down when to drop pylons and when to start my first attack
When you are new to anything you are going to struggle a lot. Come back to this build and compare what you are doing to the video, and it'll take a lot of iterations, and practice and work, but you'll get there.
Well you have to think what time will that hit. If they want 2 bases, stim, and medivacs, it hits past 5 minutes. Past 4 minutes you could do an 8 marine drop without stim and still have a base, but that isn't scary. Past 4 minutes they could have stim but no base, so you just pull probes away, fight near shield batteries and warp in. The immortal does a lot of work. Keep in mind these timings are only hit at the highest levels, so for the vast majority of players you should be fine. (and even at high levels a marine drop isn't the best thing they can do)
Thank you for a great video. I always see high MMR players expand around 4:00-4:30. Is this a two base timing attack and that’s why it’s delayed? When do you suggest taking the third with this build? Thanks again
Yep this is a style where you hit a 2 base timing. You can take your third base as you are moving out. Which is generally a good thing to do anyway. The origins of this build come from PvP a few years back, where every game was 44 probe chargelot archon timing, with a third base that had no probes.
is this build on spawning tool. I tried it serveal times last night trying to just remember the build and won very easily, but if i had it on spawning tool it would be great thanks.
reminds me of Winterstarcraft Do not build stalkers, void rays, scout or anything else. Makro to chargelots, immortals and Archons and go kill him with a-move :D thanks for the build order

Such an awesome guide! I was just wondering, I am playing at diamond 2,1 and it is working well, the one adjustment I always do is putting down a 3rd nexus before the push at around 7min. Sometimes what happens is that the push does not outright kill them yet we trade a lot and they end up kinda hurt eco wise but the game cannot be ended. In those cases with the third base, what should I usually transition to? Is it totally dependant on match up and what units they have? Just one last question, is there any place I can find replays of masters+ playing wih this build? Just for teaching purposes to see reactions to the different cheeses. Thank you for the video in any case, it is great!
Adding the 3rd nexus is a good adjustment, and your reasoning is solid. Yeah it depends on the matchup. You can continue going chargelot immortal archon and adding storm against zerg/terran, and disruptors vs Protoss. I don't have any high level replays atm, but I would that once you start getting a bit higher you can do a Matchup specific build. That might mean doing 2 gate expand in PvP into this, which might help versus cheeses. And obviously you would add the scout.
I love this build order, I'm using it to learn Toss after playing Zerg for years. I have a few questions though: What about rushes overall? Like a speedling flood (as in, enough to chew down your wall)? I just got DT dropped at about 5 min. Solution? Fast phoenix/voidray? Thanks for any other thoughts on this. It's been really fun but I think I'm dying a lot to faster builds/rushes. * note, I've been building the cyber before nexus to get the wall up faster.
You should be fine for speedling floods, just need to learn how to rewall behind your buildings, and possibly warp in sentries. Dealing with any harass that hits your main shouldn't be impossible. You need to get confident at pulling workers from the mineral line and warping in 2 stalkers.
Awesome! I’ve been wanting to try a two base CIA style build and this build is perfect. Is it any safer to go Cyber before Nexus? Thinking specifically for PvT to defend against the initial reaper, but was wondering if it would be any better/worse in the other two matchups.
the thing that pisses me off about the current sc2 community is the obvious highly skilled players playing in noob territory for easy wins. It was not like this years ago when i played. Its gotten pretty toxic so thank you for this guide.
Thanks for the build, i begin the game and feel like it's perfect for me ! Please could you tell where you put your chronoboost during the build ? I feel like i miss one
Click on the spawning tool link in the video description. But iirc it's chronos on probes mostly at first, at least 1 chrono on immortal, then +1 attack is going to be 2 chronos so it finishes at the same time as charge Edit: Probe puts 3 total chronos on +1 attack and 1 chrono on charge. The last 2 chronos on +1 and charge are when he's about to move out ~ 6 mins
Hi mate. I am about to start playing sc2 for the first time in many years. As i always kinda sucked barley getting to silver for more than a second so i thought i would try this build. Just wondering if it still works?
If ur opponent is not doing anything to you for the first 6mins, yea u can win every single game. However if they do anything to stop you from doing the build order correctly u lose all the time. For example if enemy 1 base all in u, u lose no matter what since u do no scouting. If terran drops mines into ur base constantly and fked ur build order once again u lose and u cant stop his mines all ins.
@@ProbeSC2 sorry for late response. I have no idea, i started playing again, i was gold 1 at my peak, so i am not a skillful player. Just every time i play this build order im getting interrupted by cannon rush/1base all in/mines drop/regular drop. And i cant keep up defending and building properly.
@@valentinbonchev7485 yeah starcraft is not easy. Those things will always be tough. Your build order may be delayed, but it's got you set up with almost everything you need to beat everything else. You will just need to practice dealing with harass, and if you're not perfect, well you better be constantly probing. For mines drops for example, you need to get into your muscle memory pulling your probes to your other base and sending a couple back. You do this in every build order. So use this build order as a stepping off point. If you get stuck on particular things I am more than happy to look at a replay, or search on UA-cam that situation specifically.
Hi @probe_sc2 I have used this build to go from 2800mmr which I had been stuck in for years to go to 3200mmr in about a month. But have reached a point where against terran i need a build that gives me more units early. Would you or anyone else be able to recommend what build to use to take the next step? or how to adapt this one to that requirement? thanks for the great content!
I use this build and saw great improvement. However, I will say if you get rushed early by zerglings or marines most likely you won't have your wall up in time with a unit to block. I lose many matches because of this. But if there is no cheese, I usually win.
12 pool is definitely the most common way to lose with this build because I get you focusing on doing your own thing and not scouting. But if it becomes really common for your games and stops you from climbing, then yeah it becomes a super easy fix. Just find a guide on how to stop 12 pool!
Against Terran the wall location matters the least. Yes it would be nice to have a reaper wall, but it isn't the end of the world, otherwise maps where you can't block the jump spot would be unplayable. Plus this helps getting a hellion block set up immediately. So, for the purposes of this build - to get beginners macroing! - it doesn't matter
Is this build still viable? I’m pretty new to sc2 so seeing a two year old build makes me wonder. If so how do you proceed later on in the game with this build do you opt into skytoss or just keep on pumping chargelots/archons/immortals?
Yes still viable, nothing has changed to the build order, and balance of units wise? Very little has changed. You proceed later on in the game just by winning with your push. If you don't win, you've done something wrong. If you "want to" play later, you add splash (colossus in PvT, storm in PvZ and Disruptors in PvP), and attack again once maxed. Once again chargelot archon immortal. But I stress this is a build that if you do properly and spend all your money, you will just win with the push until diamond.
I love the build, I'm pretty new and it brought me from loosing all ranked games and now I'm getting close to gold. The one constant I keep running into is running out of resources in my main two bases, should I grab another base at some point or am I doing something wrong
Got that one down and I'm winning almost every time but I keep losing in the first few minutes because the enemy ling/marine rushes me and I haven't even started producing units at that point

@@ProbeSC2 I did it! I got to Diamond! Thank you so much, this is the best I've ever gotten in SC2
literally won 19 games in a row with this, and have gone from low gold to high plat.
the only time i lost was an early game terran who was harassing me pretty much the entire game and really preventing me from getting momentum.
but everyone else... none of them can deal with the timing push @ 7 minutes or so.
knocking on their door with 2-3 immortals, 2-3 archons, 2-3 stalkers, and 10+ zealots, along with warp ins, pretty much seals the deal every time in lower ranks. No one can deal with it. even turtled up terrans. and the unit ocmposition is rounded enough to counter anything they can muster in that time.
air units? Archons + stalkers.
mass bio? zealots + archons.
turtle with tanks and bunkers? Immortals
I'm also finding it SUPER useful to hit their mineral line with a 7 zealot warp in while i simultaneously hit their front. I'm finding that to be VERY effective.
Best protoss guide I've seen so far! Would love to see some more builds to master after that! :)

i played over a decade of zerg. multiple master. i only came back to try toss. practised a month of macro. multitasking trainer. minute micro. custom maps. ladder. everything what comes after the 2nd base. it gets complicated. or maybe after the third base. even after this month. toss macro is still very hard to master for me personally.
i gave this build a shot. practised it twice vs A.I. and then on ladder 3 games (3,5k mmr). 1 vs each race. everytime easy win so far. i am surprised how easy it was. i will definitely play this build more.
edit: 6 wins in a row. this build feels good.

Thank you for this! Just got a GG at the 10 min mark using this against Zerg. He attacked my wall twice too, which that robo, stalkers and sentry shield wall with two or 3 zealots did great! Roaches and lings never stood a chance against plus 1 att/shield

@@ProbeSC2 Thank you
Want to reiterate that I think this build is great!
@@ProbeSC2 Ahh cool to learn that 2 base chargelot all ins were the meta previously!
@@Fimbu1vetr Yeah it was unstoppable. You would have to stop at 45 probes and do this chargelot archon style yourself and hopefully match upgrades. If you didn't, you would just lose :D
You would take a 'fake' third as part of it, but only saturate it once both players couldn't beat each other.
Awesome vid! Hope you could do other build order vids for higher leagues too!
I'll make sure to include a wide variety of builds in future guides :)

In case your a dumbo like me. When he says 14 Pylon, 16 Gateway, 17 Gas, etc... That means at that amount of Probes you'd want to build the following.
This is only true before you build army units. As probes = 1 supply, zealots/stalkers/sentries = 2 supply, etc
this is a great guide. I wonder if you can make another one focusing more about air units - oriented build order?
I can. Before then, just take the advice of constant probe production, constant unit production, then you can do almost anything.
The tricky bit might just be figuring out how many production buildings you need
@@ProbeSC2 thank u. Looking toward seeing that video :)

@@ProbeSC2 How would you transition to this build off a 2 gate expand? Would this work? Stalker/sentry->stalker/stalker and nexus at 33
@@Fimbu1vetr Yeah I recommend 5 or 6 unit expand like that, then first tech building after nexus being robo. The order of buildings after that is exactly the same.
It'll be safer and more PvP specific, but that is a good thing, as you get more advanced.

Hey , im pretty new to pvp. Im asking myself, how is this safe against medivac invade ? Couldnt a terraner just drop marines in the main base ?

I have a few questions though:
What about rushes overall? Like a speedling flood (as in, enough to chew down your wall)?
I just got DT dropped at about 5 min. Solution?
Fast phoenix/voidray?
Thanks for any other thoughts on this. It's been really fun but I think I'm dying a lot to faster builds/rushes.
* note, I've been building the cyber before nexus to get the wall up faster.
You should be fine for speedling floods, just need to learn how to rewall behind your buildings, and possibly warp in sentries. Dealing with any harass that hits your main shouldn't be impossible. You need to get confident at pulling workers from the mineral line and warping in 2 stalkers.
facci sapere
Is there a brief pause in the probe production at 20 to allow for the nexus and core to go down?
Yes
Awesome! I’ve been wanting to try a two base CIA style build and this build is perfect.
Is it any safer to go Cyber before Nexus? Thinking specifically for PvT to defend against the initial reaper, but was wondering if it would be any better/worse in the other two matchups.
It doesn't really impact the build, so yeah you can go core first. Definitely has merits in PvT and PvP.

the thing that pisses me off about the current sc2 community is the obvious highly skilled players playing in noob territory for easy wins. It was not like this years ago when i played. Its gotten pretty toxic so thank you for this guide.
yeah I've seen several players who'd just give up INSTANTLY to get a lose and drop some mmr
I'm doing this In diamond and its pretty good but its definitely cursed without scouting
Yeah at some point if you are hitting the benchmarks, and the majority of your losses occur from like 12 pool, feel free to add the basic scout in.
Great video... thanks for the build order! Why not go with Stalkers instead of Archons?
Because stalkers are very bad units (until you get to gm and have blink, and then in certain situations they become the most op unit)
Thanks for the build, i begin the game and feel like it's perfect for me !
Please could you tell where you put your chronoboost during the build ? I feel like i miss one
Click on the spawning tool link in the video description. But iirc it's chronos on probes mostly at first, at least 1 chrono on immortal, then +1 attack is going to be 2 chronos so it finishes at the same time as charge
Edit: Probe puts 3 total chronos on +1 attack and 1 chrono on charge. The last 2 chronos on +1 and charge are when he's about to move out ~ 6 mins
What mean the left number on the corner, i mean "14" Pylon, "16" Gateway, etc... this number what means in your guide?
It refers to what supply to build that building on, which you can see in the top right.
Usually you assume constant probe production.
Hi mate.
I am about to start playing sc2 for the first time in many years. As i always kinda sucked barley getting to silver for more than a second so i thought i would try this build.
Just wondering if it still works?
Yes.
@@ProbeSC2 tried it this morning. Man i am so slow got smashed first game but i won second so thx for the build i very much appreciated it
Good luck. Remember you are still probably going to lose games. But hopefully this will give some you guidance on your journey.
How would you like to play instead vs mines?

What are you losing to where you need more units early?
If you share a replay in my discord you'll get the perfect advice.
very cool
Can someone explain what the numbers mean?
Make it on that supply count, which you can see top right.
Thank you!
Just got back after ten years. I totally need this. I mean, I'll never use it. Umm....
i love how this is a 2 years old video and you still replay to comments, great tutorial.
Thanks :D
also why you stopped uploading SC2 content ?
Just was feeling burnt out with sc2, and started playing stormgate. (Busy with full time work too). I might come back sometime, we'll see.
against terran built ur wall at jumper spot to block reapers.. it allways matters where u built against other races
Hello im new too starcraft, what does the numbers next to the text mean, ex: 16 gateway, 17 gas.
It means the supply you build them at. So you start the game with 12 probes, so 12 supply. Assume constant probe production.
@@ProbeSC2 ooh ok, thank you for the fast reply😀👍

I love the build, I'm pretty new and it brought me from loosing all ranked games and now I'm getting close to gold. The one constant I keep running into is running out of resources in my main two bases, should I grab another base at some point or am I doing something wrong
As you push out you can build a third nexus if you like.
Got that one down and I'm winning almost every time but I keep losing in the first few minutes because the enemy ling/marine rushes me and I haven't even started producing units at that point
@@oliverryan2168 If it keeps happening and you're winning all the other games, start to integrate a basic scout at the start of the game.
