Do we know that a baby, that is a twin, is consciously pushing his or her sibling away to get the food out of jealousy, or some other evolutionary survival mechanism; or is he or she doing so unconsciously? How do we determine that the, act, of pushing a brother or sister away from nourishment, *is* , sinful? Surely you would have to able to show and/or know that the, act, itself had come from a place of sin?
Researchers into very early development argue that at birth a new-born has no sense of inner and outer. The universe is them and they are the universe. Their bodily sensations are experienced absolutely, so what we are able to articulate as pleasurable or painful, is experienced by the very young child as either idyllic or monstrous. If the care giver is in-tuned with the child's needs, this appears as if it is something that is willed by the baby. The will being a primal drive. 'Seek and ye shall find as if by divine providence'. These are very early experiences.
