So much well-explained, sir. I reall love to talk and discuss on the philosophy of time with my friends and also also try to know what time really is. Thanks for this explanation!
Augustine has interesting things to say about the possibility of music in eternity. If eternity is outside of time, music as we know it can't exist, in the sense that music only unfolds over time-...wait bonevac just touched on this! God doesn't have to suffer through a Wagner opera the way we do: he sees it in its entirety in an instant. Lucky God! (on the other hand we humans also get to listen to Bach and Ravel...)
What then is time? If no one asks me, I know; if I want to explain it to a questioner, I do not know” Probably most cited sentences of Augustine in contemporary philosophy :)
I think time is a conception that we as a human being has made it up based on our experiences of outside world and its changes and nobody never discover what time really is, since we couldn't go beyond our minds.
The biggest stumbling block in this debate is that Christian's have to accept that God created the world because the Bible says so. Consequently they will tie themselves in knots trying to rationalise it. Eternal generation of existence is ultimately easier to comprehend.
How wonderful is this man 🌼
I have always wanted a teacher like you!
This helped me understand this book so much more clearer, thank you!

Do you think he an argument in book 11 to show that something has existed from eternity?
time is an illusion . God paradoxically exists outside of Time and yet Incarnates into time as Christ .
The biggest stumbling block in this debate is that Christian's have to accept that God created the world because the Bible says so. Consequently they will tie themselves in knots trying to rationalise it. Eternal generation of existence is ultimately easier to comprehend.
