Nice video! I have orded the br 150 from piko. But i have read that the br 150 start to ended career in 2003 not ended! Yes she is a beauty.

Glad you like it - let us know how the BR 150 from Piko is. As for the end date - as I understand it they were retired in 2003 and scrapped in 2004. However, I am sure it was a slow transition... Enjoy ;-)

Yes - I have grown quite fond of this locomotive and it's weathering. Now I am just missing a string of freight cars. The matching cars are coming out next year. Enjoy ;-)

Nice overview and this is definitely a beautiful weathered version. Unfortunately, the pantograph are not automatic. I’m still awaiting for mine to be delivered and after it’s 6 week trip, it should arrive this week. So this one is definitely an option for our project.

Glad you liked the video. Yes - you can look forward to the model - it's a nice one. I seem to recall I saw that you already have the BR 140 weathered version - or do I remember wrong? A good one for the project as well. Enjoy ;-)

@@ModelTrainFun yes, I have the weathered 140 which is the reason I mentioned the automatic pantographs that are missing in the 150 version. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to the BR 150 loco.

    Awesome video,
I am currently using N gauge but I am debating whether to change H0 gauge.
I like C track though I'm not sure whether to use Trix or marklin.
I realise marklin is AC and Trix is DC, my gut feeling suggest to buy Trix as DC has more variety in terms of locomotives.
Can I ask why you chose AC over DC? (Your answer will help me decide 👍)

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  2 роки тому +1

As you are used to N-gauge I assume you are using DCC, so going for Trix might be easiest for you as everything essentially will work the same - just with a bigger scale. If you are lucky some DCC items can be re-used.
I prefer Märklin as it is good quality, easy to use and simpler to use when using the newest MFX. Märklin is 3-rail - some do not like the apperance of the extra rail. However, the extra rail means more reliability and no need to think of troubles with loops. If you are running German/European trains there is a lot to choose from. Otherwise the selection is limited.
Finally, don't forget having somebody (shop, club or friends) to talk to and exchange information with is also an important aspect.
I think you will be glad either way you go. Enjoy ;-)

Nice Video. this is not correct. The Loko has a heating system for passenger train. In front of the left side, near the buffer you can see a cable. This is a 1000 V cable for the heating system for the train. But it's not only for heating, it's for all electric in the train, lights, air conditioning, charching batteries in the train and so on. This is a standard cable. All Loko for passenger trains need und have this cable. In the 60 und 70, this cable was for 800 V und 1000 V. Old passenger train, had only a 800 V heating. I hope you understand me, my English is not so good 👋
I forgot the 1000 V cable is connected by the loko transformer.

Perfectly understandable - thanks for the information. I did not know that the BR 150 also was able to be used with passenger trains. I must admit I do not remember have seen the BR 150 with passenger trains - will have a look. Thanks, and have fun with trains ;-)

@@ModelTrainFunthanks, when the track was very steep, than they use this class for passenger trains. Because the high speed ist for passenger train much too slow.

Thanks for another great video and unboxing. Brilliant loco for your collection.
Nice job on your latest layout, I really like how much you have made out of a small layout area.
What product were you using for your inclines? Can you please share?

Glad you enjoyed it! The inclides are made of lego. I am planning a video on this in the near future. Enjoy ;-)
