Hi - our Musso 4080 just arrived and I wished the manufacturer would include instructions if it needs to rest 24 hours after shipping to let the coolant, etc settle. Did you start using yours the same day it arrived or did you wait a while after unboxing it?
Looking forward to see your future creations with this machine! You don't have to elaborate on it but I was shocked when I heard the word 'divorce' 😢 hope you are settled soon🙏
@@PolarIceCreamery what a relief and really happy for you (and Stacey I assume?) Out of pure curiosity then, where did the decision to move to Canada come from? ☺️
@@jolienpetre9017 Yep Stacey 😊 I came here many years ago and fell in love with BC & AB and as I was alone at the time, I wanted to to move there and then. I then met Stacey and gave up on the idea but we came over on holiday a few years ago and it all flooded back, thankfully she loved it too. Not really, one you get passed 28 years old, it becomes very difficult and expensive. I have actually started a business over here (not ice cream related). I am thinking of doing some shorts describing the actual ways to get over and how easy/hard it is. @@jolienpetre9017
Wow, that was abrupt. I feel robbed because I wanted to see that Lello Musso in action! Really liked that video, and happy to see you're setting in slowly but surely. Also, the bit about the weight is too real. I started off loading most of my ice creams to friends and my skinny husband. How's Canada? Must be a very different vibe than England
One thing, is the ice cream container/bowl of the Musso removable? It doesn't look like it. Doesn't that make it a lot harder to clean especially if you're making multiple batches in a row?
Haha yep I’ve been called abrupt before 😂🤣. Canada is amazing so far thank you! You are correct, the Musso machines do not have removable bowls. It sounds like a pain but in reality, it’s surprisingly easy and quick and rebatch. I can clean it and get the compressor back on in 5 minutes no problem. Once you e turned the compressor off, it’s recommended to wait 5 before turning it back on anyway.
It is a great equipment and I am delighted with the delightful results. But I was wondering, if I want to make ice cream with more air like 10-12% more air, could I beat the refrigerated ice cream base with an electric mixer before pouring it into the Musso 4080? 🤔
@@PolarIceCreamery I mean if the Musso gives you an 20-25% overrun then if I want a 35% overrun Can I beat the ice cream base with an electric mixer before pouring it into the Musso? in this way incorporating more air into the ice cream before the churning process.
Maybe, I’d be surprised to be honest as the dasher spin will likely knock that air out but try it and let me know. You can also do things like add some egg white to the base. This type of protein always increases overrun a lot.
I don't have the patience to watch this. Please just provide information on the product you're reviewing. I know this is free content, but come on, at least put some effort in to making these videos. Otherwise you're just wasting everyones time.
The Cube 750 has a much better dasher design. Size is comparable. Weight is a tiny bit less than the 4080. Capacity of the Cube is slightly less if you follow the manual (it will make little more. Cube motor is only 140w compared to 200w in the 4080. They are directly comparable to be honest. The built quality of the Cube is slightly better imho.
Keep doing you're thing! You've inspired me a whole lot in my own ice cream journey, doing it full time with a very basic machine (and sometimes the two bowl method when I have to make multiple batches as the machine doesn't have a compressor). Hope to connect with you sometime 😊
Hi Nick, do you know anything about Nemox 5L automatic ice-cream machine? I found a brand new one for £450 which is a bit of a bargain considering they sell for around £1500. There is a business nearby which is closing down and they are selling all their kitchen appliances. They didn't even get a chance to use the machine. Would you recommend getting it as an upgrade for a Cuisinart ICE 100? Thank you!
Yes they are excellent. I had one for my UK business at the start and loved it. It’s a massive upgrade over the ICE100 and the resulting ice cream will be considerably better.
@@PolarIceCreamery Which machine would you recommend between the Nemox Chef 5L and Musso Stella 5030 for a home user? If I remember correctly you did mention in a videon that you were a owner of the 5030 too at some point. Thank you.
@@daniels2423 they are both excellent in different ways. The build quality of the Nemox is higher, it has both a fixed bowl and removeable bowl. It can keep a mix at draw temperature for a while which is a nice feature and the lid is a better design albeit flimsy. If it were new, the cost is too high. The 5030, is a beast and can make larger batches, faster than the nemox even though it shouldn't be able to. There are no smart features at all as it is just a motor with a dasher attached. It's easier to repair and just "works" all the time. My Nemox was a temperamental little so and so! Ice cream quality was slightly higher in the nemox but not enough so that people would notice. For the money you're getting that Nemox at, get that.
Thank you for your very instructive and interesting videos… also your voice is very soothing! I’ve started making ice cream six weeks ago on a 1L Kumio compressor machine. I knew that I would eventually upgrade my equipment, but the Lello was out of my reach money wise. I got extremely lucky last week when I found a 4080 barely used at 250$ CAD on Marketplace. After you make your ice cream, do you take out the paddle right away, or wait until almost all the ice cream is scooped out.
I take 50% out then I remove the dasher. You don’t want ice cream or cleaning liquids to go down the dasher shaft really.
