I'm really glad you're covering TGAMM, not many reviewers on UA-cam has been covering the show. It isn't as big as Amphibia or The Owl House, but it still has a devoted fan base that supports it, me included. I do hope more people get to see the show and gets the support it deserves. But for us fans, we're all ready for Season 2!
Ashly Burch was also the perfect voice for Molly, considering she's so used to playing optimistic hyperactive characters. She brings out Molly's personality wonderfully.
You're right, Molly isn't some typical optimistic happy-go-lucky main character that we see a lot in Disney shows. ls because she always moves from town to town and leaves behind a lot of friends and her family always has financial problems. That's why she decides to be optimistic all the time because she doesn't want the world to get her down and wants to help the people around her and enhappify them from their misery. She also has flaws and dislikes instead of other optimistic MCs who just loves everything and are always a goody two shoes. This just makes Molly much more relatable and a great optimistic main character done right!

Molly Tai heritage never defined her character or story, whilst Chinese was the defining focus of Turning red. It proves that the creators shouldn't be the nationality of their story as they assume the audience knows their background.
I quite enjoyed the first season of the show! I’m not gonna lie I do prefer serialized stories but I still really enjoyed the show and the ongoing plot with scratch and the ghost counsel I rather enjoyed. That being said I do have my problems with the season finale mainly that the death of the chairman is super anti-climactic and if the chairman really is dead He was a massive waste of a villain and there are a lot of unanswered questions. Even so I can’t wait to watch season 2 when it comes out
Yes! I was holding my breath that you would be the one to talk about TGAMM! I started this show as just something to play in the background, but within only 2 episodes, I was intensely hooked. I really like how while it didn't have a fully present overarching narrative, it had consistency, continuity, and changes that furthered character arcs, especially Molly. Great review Alpha! Can't wait for the next upload.
I love this show. Scratch is my favorite he's really come along way. At the start he wanted nothing to do with Molly or her family. But as the show went on he grew to care for Molly. Now he's not just Molly's best friend but he's apart of her too. Scratch loves the Mcgees and they love him.
The fact that The Ghost and Molly McGee only took the first five episodes to become my favorite TV show ever. After I finished the first season, it cemented it’s legacy. This show truly is special. And the music slaps. Most of the songs are written by Rob Cantor from Tally Hall 😎 so that makes sense.
I'm real happy with the ghost and molly mcgee. It's a fun, simple show that feels straight outta the 00s. Molly herself is a refreshing variant of the optimistic character and that's nice to see. And do we even have to talk about scratch?? He's a delight 😂😂. Honestly really looking forward to what season 2 brings to the table
I hope this show grows more when season 2 comes out. Sure it's not that serious like The Owl House or Amphibia but it's super cute and entertaining and it's very funny I would totally recommend it. It became one of my all time favorites shows and it has great characters and the art style is super cute! It's very underatted in my opinion.
I never expected a show about Tiny Tina from Borderlands and Master Shake from ATHF to be so charming and funny, but Disney TVA weirdly pulled it off really well

Calling Adventure Time a show that parents can show their kids upsets me. My parents never let me watch it or Regular Show and I still haven’t watched it now because I don’t care anymore which hurts more than it should
Those are both shows I never watched as a kid either, not cuz I wasn't allowed but just because I wasn't interested enough. I watched adventure time for the first time in my early adulthood and loved it and my boyfriend wanted me to see regular show so we watched it together and finished it within the past year. I don't know if you'll ever care to watch either of them but they both are pretty fun shows that I can enjoy even as an adult, especially adventure time.
I hate when pple compare Molly to other optimistic characters and say it’s bad that she’s similar, Molly takes everything awesome abt good main characters and does ALL of the things they do. It’s rlly easy to make a bad optimistic character, but molly is the best one I’ve seen so far
Amongst the more episodic Disney shows, I really enjoyed "The Ghost and Molly McGee." Not only is the animation fun and creative, especially regarding the ghosts themselves, but the characters also had amusing interactions, the humor was pretty entertaining, and the heart felt genuine. The songs are admittedly kind of hit or miss, but they still have their moments to shine. Beyond that, the only complaint I can think of is how they axed off the Chairman in the season finale. Or rather that they didn't show enough of its true dominance in the ghost realm (i.e. shifting the land masses, gathering all the ghosts at once) to warrant his final sendoff. Now I still LOVE how Molly decimated the reaper figure with her cute, little 'boop,' but it would've been even more impactful if they showed the Chairman's full power before it met its demise. Beyond that, I thought Season 1 ended on a high note and I can't wait for Season 2.

Can you please do a video about the show called Pantheon it's an AMC+ adult animation. It is very damn good and very underrated. in my opinion its one of the best sci-fi animation series this year. It got some interesting concepts, compelling characters and a great plot.
I feel like the problem I have with 'The ghost and Molly McGee' is that I enjoy shows like Gravity Falls, TOH, and Amphibia, who actually have an engaging story. I don't mind episodic shows, but I just get really bored of them easily.
Side note: Is anyone looking forward to the Wonderful Fall of Mickey Mouse? Because considering the fact all four episodes in season 2 got zero advertising (in Wonderful Fall's case, not even in the "and the rest" section of this month's What's on Disney+ video), as well the show's second season just being those few specials because that worked *so* well for the Owl House, I just can't see the Mickey shorts franchise sticking around after the Fall episode
Its a shame this show has been overshadowed by the HUGE Owl House controversy that hasnt slowed down after a year. Molly embodies the trope, but the writers actually play around with the trope in a way that gives Molly development. (Unlike Mabel, oftentimes.) Not only do we see how her positivity can be a bit toxic, like the bat mitzvah and snow day episode, but there are moments where it's heavily implied Molly uses positivity as a coping mechanism. She actually breaks down at times.

I know the episode, Hooty’s moving castle is a reference to the anime film, but it took me so long to realize the imagery was also that of the infamous witch form folklore: Baba Yaga. Which fits perfectly with the Owl House’s theme!

This and Amphibia are the first two shows i've gotten to watch with my six year old daughter where neither of us had seen it before, we both enjoyed it, and it held her attention enough to watch it the whole way through. I found that the conclusion of the overarching story was a bit rushed for my liking, but I didn't feel like I needed a huge payoff since the "plot" was such a background element through 90% of the show. We'll both be excited for season two!
For adults like myself we grew up with aqua teen hungry force, so seeing Dana Snyder portray a rated G version of milkshake made me watch this whole season 😂 the jokes he cracks are just as good as shake 😂
I found the show about a month back and I loved it, and when I recognized the cast after wondering why both molly and scratch sounded familiar I looked up the cast and remembered dana snyder from chowder and Ashly Burch was Tiny Tina by far one of my favorite characters in any media. honestly probably my favorite show in years.
IMHO, GaMM first season overall was way better than both Amphibia and TOH's first seasons. Both shows had bad episodes in their first season, but with GaMM I cant really think of one

IMHO, GaMM first season overall was way better than both Amphibia and TOH's first seasons. Both shows had bad episodes in their first season, but with GaMM I cant really think of one
