Can I add 40% and a high lift blue powder to do foils in my hair??? And I've got a frost white toner fot after, because I want my hair to look white. I'd appreciate any advice please.
this is probably the best video i have seen so far thank you a lot! 7:34 - 10 vol at the back(3%), 20 vol at the front(6%). 8:05 - folding the foils 8:30 - starting the crown section 10:25 - what to do with the hair tat's left (at the back area). 15:17 - Front area 27:43 - hair that's left out at the front (using 1.5% peroxide) 31:40 can also be used for balayage. 37:10 - Toning (leave toner for 5 minutes)
Excellent tutorial!! I am a retired hair colorist, corrective colorist and I spend a couple hours a day watching these type of videos on UA-cam! I so enjoyed your video! My first job as a hairstylist out of cosmetology school, my co-worker introduced me to “the board”!!! This exact method was what I learned and applied for 4 years of my early career! Then I went to work at a two story Luxury Salon and Spa and swiftly my board was banished from my drawer!!!!! I had to learn how to foil just like you are without my board! It was really difficult and as I have ALOT OF DETERMINATION!! I Mastered the “board less perfect weaved highlight! You are very good at what you do! Thank you for bringing back almost forgotten memories!!
I am an older hairsylist and I purchased the waving comb Famar dream weaving comb.for finer baby lights. What a great tool! Works perfect every weave is the same.
Okay I love this - but surely it takes a while and while that first price is processing it’s frazzled when your near the end 😭😂 no? I’m too scared to let it sit while I’m still doing the rest 😂
Beautiful video perfect foiling Technique. Can you get more Intricate about tension, Angle of foiling comb, etc. to achieve flawless Parting and even weaving
Agree with other commenters here, this is the absolute best and most informative video I've seen yet and the results were amazing! I feel so much more confident now, can't wait to try this. Thanks for posting.
Where did you get your board? Also, how many foils do you think you load it with? I’m guessing you don’t put too many or it would get too thick. I love your sectioning! Definitely gonna try this!! Thank u so much!!
I am currently a student at Aveda and I have a client today with a full highlight and I was so anxious and your video helped me a lot. Thanks for being very informational and you gave me more insight than the educators here!!Lol New subscriber 💕
Doing my first highlight retouch tomorrow and i am so nervous’ i can eacross your videos and i went straight to the follow button ! So informative !!! Using this technique tomorrow for sure !!! I saw you posted how long it took you, and i saw someone put you stared with a 20% at front and 10% in the back. I loved the tip out ! Thank k you!!!! One question, did you use any natural base ? All toner ?? Im so impressed !!
I do the same thing except in the crown where u did the triangle, I mirror the triangle up into the top and make a diamond. Then I keep foiling on a diagonal in the diamond (I’ve foiled diagonal right and left and it doesn’t really make a diff). I just hate taking the time foiling horizontally those first few skinny sections at the bottom of the triangle.
Your video is soo therapeutic. I absolutely love foiling and have just recently gone back to this technique, like you said, it makes sense. Can’t wait to watch more.
Approximately how long does it take you to foil the whole head? Also if they are a level 5 or 6, do you still use vol.10 for the back & 20 for the top & sides or do you change it? LOVE your channel ❤
thanks so much i usually take 45-60 mins depending how tight and how much hair. yes I may change it to 20 vol all over if its a dark base but i never higher then 20 vol unless im working with level 2-3 i just make sure my weave depth is very shallow does that make sense.
I made a UA-cam to be able to comment on this video. I've watched hundreds of videos, and I've learned more from you in this one then most of the other combined. I'm not sure what your doing different but it's working. Thank you for all of your useful tips 😁
Nice tutorial! Thank you! I am just wondering what you may do differently if someone flips their part around from center to the sides and never wears it one way! Or how you would tackle someone with a side part :)
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m not a fan of how my school taught me to foil a full highlight but I’m really looking forward to try this one out!! This one makes much more sense in my head
Hi Lauren, your Fab! Fantastic demonstrations !!. Thank you for putting so much detail and info in your recordings. Love the way you work ! You go girl. Thank you :)
beautiful work, very well explained. i love how you tell us WHY you do certain things oppose to just telling us WHAT you do. now off to binge watch more of your videos :)
Hi blush what bleach you us what tonur you us you hav to mention what toner you us what developer you us what was natural hear color you hav to complet hear color you dont tell which bleach you us what tonur you us what developer you us you look sick lie
Blush you tak to much but you dont no nothing you hav to tell what bleach you us what developer you us befour you put bleach what is natural hear colore and what bleach you put what developer you us
Thank you so much for making this video ! I learned a lot! I’m curious though, how would you section for someone with a heavy side part? Would one side just have more horizontal foils than the other?
Love the sectioning and can't wait to try it. What I would do differently would be the hairline last. It is the most delicate. But I love learning from fellow stylists. I always take away something to improve what I do. Thank you for sharing!
You aren’t showing the time it takes to put the foil on to the board. Either Someone is placing on there for you and handing it to you. Or you don’t show yourself putting each single foil onto the board which takes even more time. I don’t have anyone handing me this or would be nice and go much faster. I don’t use boards unless I’m doing balayage. I don’t have time for this. I do like the sectioning technique but this girls hair looks like it’s over processed before you even began on the already blonde hair. Looks to be in fragile and frail condition. I would not add more bleach on already bleached out hair or you will end up with breakage. Pretty outcome but if she adds a flat iron regularly she will get broken ends. Thanks for sharing :)
I have watched this video twice now! It’s like therapy! I do have a question...how would part for a client that has a side part? None of mine really part in the middle. Thank you!
I did your pattern today was nice and easy, my problem was that I got some splashiness in some strands for folding the foil, so I had to re saturate those spots, she had old highlights so I left out the mids and ends, I think I overlapped the strand, and that caused that. Any tip to avoid lines or spots when folding?
Super informative video! I may have missed you talking about it, but how would you go about sectioning the front if they do not part in the middle? Thank you!
Great idea stacking the foils all together on the board , instead of grabbing one foil at a time like I do.
Can I add 40% and a high lift blue powder to do foils in my hair??? And I've got a frost white toner fot after, because I want my hair to look white. I'd appreciate any advice please.
Wow your foiling is so precise and amazing it’s perfect! By far one of thee best I have seen! 👌🏽
From one creative stylist to another, this was explained perfectly 💗 thank you so so much!
ohh thats so nice to hear thank you I'm glad it was easy to follow
Very well done. Love the blonde highlights
That’s very cool that you have many layers of foil on your coo board.
I’m a student at a cosmetology school and I have a highlight guest coming in about 30 minutes - I can’t wait to try this technique!! 😁 awesome 👏🏻
yes please do let me know how it goes
Me too! Watching it in the break room before my first foil client
@@corinnesimis8877 omg I hope it’s going amazing!!! 💓
so… how did the foils go 😊
Oh! I wish I was there
this is probably the best video i have seen so far thank you a lot!
7:34 - 10 vol at the back(3%), 20 vol at the front(6%).

hi rose i cant believe they took it away form you thats so sad my boss showed me how to use the board i love it so much thanks for watching.
I am an older hairsylist and I purchased the waving comb Famar dream weaving comb.for finer baby lights. What a great tool! Works perfect every weave is the same.
My sister had SO much hair and such a massive head - every time I have to do a full head I’m like 😭😭😭 takes me forever
I have enough hair for about 4 people. I know hairdressers just hate to see me coming.
5 minutes in and it’s already been the most informative tutorial I have watched, thankyou!
yay thats the best news ill try to keep them coming
I love how different ppl foil. Also this made me realize I need to learn how to foil with a board. Holy moly.
Why did you not pull the lightener through the the dark ends that were in of some of the foils? I was admiring the entire video but that stumped me 🤔
Okay I love this - but surely it takes a while and while that first price is processing it’s frazzled when your near the end 😭😂 no? I’m too scared to let it sit while I’m still doing the rest 😂
What peroxide did u use? Did u use the same peroxide around the full head of did u change as u go along ?
sorry if i wasn't clear generally i start with 10 vol at the back 20 vol a the front and 1.5% tip out on already lighten hair
Beautiful video perfect foiling
Technique. Can you get more

Omg that little board for the foils looks like a lifesaver 😍
it really is!!!
Agree with other commenters here, this is the absolute best and most informative video I've seen yet and the results were amazing! I feel so much more confident now, can't wait to try this. Thanks for posting.
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words Melissa x
I've never understood this so well, thank you
Glad to hear that!
Could you just talk when doing foils instead of music. Thanks😊
Love the way ur foiling it(my hairdresser)can't seem 2achieve tho
You said you’d over toned it slightly? I think it looks beautiful. In my opinion the toning was spot on. Gorgeous results ❤️
Absolutely love the board technique I don’t know why I haven’t tried it yet! So close to the roots 😍
Where is your board from
uhhh.... no stripes? looks like we went back to the 2000s with that root job lol
Fantastic video! How long would this take normally in the salon?
Where did you get your board? Also, how many foils do you think you load it with? I’m guessing you don’t put too many or it would get too thick. I love your sectioning! Definitely gonna try this!! Thank u so much!!
Perfect technique and such natural results. Most hairdressers could learn from you. En pointe!!!
Thank you so much

One question, did you use any natural base ? All toner ?? Im so impressed !!
You start with 10 in the back and then do 20 in the front so you can rinse it all out at the same time. That way it processes evenly.
I do the same thing except in the crown where u did the triangle, I mirror the triangle up into the top and make a diamond. Then I keep foiling on a diagonal in the diamond (I’ve foiled diagonal right and left and it doesn’t really make a diff). I literally just started doing this too!
I haven't used a fooling board in years .
I use a paddle board for Byalage .
I have never used the paddle only beacsue i like to use my body to hold it so the handle gets in the way.
You do such confident and perfect work with your foiling. Beautiful results👍🏻
Thank you for the kind words :)
Putting all the foils on the board! You just saved me a lot of time lol I Don't know why I didn't think of that! Thank you! 😊
Game changer! 💪
I love your technique! I’m actually a cosmetology student. I’ve learned more from this video to be honest!
thats great news thanks for watching
Thank you so much for sharing this video !! You explain so well !! New follower
Your video is soo therapeutic. I absolutely love foiling and have just recently gone back to this technique, like you said, it makes sense. Can’t wait to watch more.
Using some of this technique for my practical in the morning ❤ Thank you
Guy Tang started with a foil board now he straight has an adjustable height foil table on WHEELS.

Nice tutorial! Thank you! I am just wondering what you may do differently if someone flips their part around from center to the sides and never wears it one way! Or how you would tackle someone with a side part :)
hey carolina thanks ill need to make another video on that its o\pretty similar
Hello, Bello, I work from Colombia. One question: What is the name of this bleach?
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m not a fan of how my school taught me to foil a full highlight but I’m really looking forward to try this one out!! This one makes much more sense in my head
How long you think a foil supposed to take from start to finishing I ask because I’m very slow but I want to be faster I OVER THINK THINGS
Hi Lauren, your Fab! Fantastic demonstrations !!. Thank you for putting so much detail and info in your recordings. Love the way you work ! You go girl. Thank you :)
you are welcome thanks for watching !!!
I love your job … you are so profesional … every think you did it was so clean .
Thank you for your videos . 💇♀️👍🏻
So nice of you. thanks for watching
Well done, you may not remember all of the technical terminology, but your technique is impeccable. Brava!
I LOVED watching you foil. Can’t wait to try this technique!!
I like how you have multiple foils on the board. Approximately how many foils do you have on it?
hi erin yes its so helpful for speed i usually have around 6 foils at a time .
Can I use 40% vol peroxide and high lift bleach when I foil my hair and then ice white toner. Any advice i would appreciate. Thanks Sally❤
beautiful work, very well explained. i love how you tell us WHY you do certain things oppose to just telling us WHAT you do. now off to binge watch more of your videos :)
So kind. Thank you!
Hi blush what bleach you us what tonur you us you hav to mention what toner you us what developer you us what was natural hear color you hav to complet hear color you dont tell which bleach you us what tonur you us what developer you us you look sick lie

Please can somebody advice on it i use 40% peroxide and high lift bleach. Thanks, sally ❤
Wow Stunning work I’m going to try this thanks so much found you by chance so glad I did 🙏🏼💜
how much would you charge for this ?
I would charge about $300 AU
Thank you so much for making this video ! I learned a lot! I’m curious though, how would you section for someone with a heavy side part? Would one side just have more horizontal foils than the other?
hey Leah thanks for watching I've made a side part video for a face frame I'm sharing on Sunday
Exquisite. Excellent class. Thank you.
Hi subscribed as soon as you mentioned no backcombing...I am 100% with you👍👍✂️✂️xx
yes i hate the backcombing tech thanks for subscribing working on some new videos
Love the sectioning and can't wait to try it. What I would do differently would be the hairline last. It is the most delicate. But I love learning from fellow stylists. I always take away something to improve what I do. Thank you for sharing!
yes i agree sometimes that is need to protect the hair or even use low vol on that part. me too! love to hear how it goes for you.
How do you make the previously lightened ends blend with the freshly lightened roots? Just toner?
How long does it take you to do a full head this way?
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Lovely!!!!
Worst thing ever had was balyage she backcombed the hair,,wish she d have told me 1st, omg it killed so much never again
i dont use backcombing i agree its painful only very rarely sorry you didn't get consulted properly maybe a new stylist next time
Would you part the same if someone had a side part?
very similar
Great tutorial, and a product line I actually use!!! Thank you!
This is so beautiful. I’m going to try this technique today on my new full foil client🥰
how did it go?
I have watched this video twice now! It’s like therapy! I do have a question...how would part for a client that has a side part? None of mine really part in the middle. Thank you!
Hi Sabrina I've made a deep part foil placement tutorial! Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/-ITN4gBAOnQ/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for watching! xx
@@blushgirl. thank you so much! 💕
I would love to order a board but the shipping is ridiculous.. The shipping is more than the board.

Well explained and demonstrated. Good timing for my new client today.
Thank you,I really learned alot, the final result is beautiful 😍❤️
Very nice teaching learning very good job highlight 🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍
great look
What’s the brand of the clips you use? Nice and neat work!
Love this video!! How do you deal with overlapping section to section
Hi. Where’s your board and clips from please 😊
love the color 😍...Wat kind of toner did u use and if u use a developer with it wat level ?? Thank you
hello thanks so much i used a 1.5% in original mineral and honestly i cant remember the toner i think i did say what i i used in the video?
Thank you ☺️
What is the name of the product you added to the toner and what's it for
that Cor restore its a bond builder same as olaplex. DO you know olaplaex?
Very natural looking! ❤
Ty but the music don’t need it spec when you talking . Good video
Lots of good points but the way you saturated the hair in some foils gave me mega anxiety lol
Hey so if you start at a level 2 do you lighten the full head first to a level 7 and then go in with the baby highlight
Hmm I have baby fine hair my roots always looks like it was never done 🤔
Thanks so much ! Love your technique ! Can’t wait to try on my clients ! USA - Houston, Texas ❤
Thanks so much for watching, glad you liked it! :)
Love love LOVE! Great job on foil placement and explanation. 😍
i'm binge watching your videos, love it 💗
Super informative video! I may have missed you talking about it, but how would you go about sectioning the front if they do not part in the middle? Thank you!
yes i've had a few people ask about this i will make a video for a deep part
Good section technique.Thank you for sharing.
you are welcome it works really well give it a try!
I use my belly too to hold the board :P. I wish I had a third hand sometimes.
haha i know it can be a little awkward
This is literally everything I ever needed. How long would you say the foiling took you from first foil to last?
Hi, foil application is usually 60 mins full process 2.5-3 hrs x
I literally learned so much on this video thank you!
So happy to hear that. Thanks for watching
This is genius!! Amazing artistry!!
Fantastic skill
Thanks so much ❤
Beautiful work
Ah I use Oway and O&M! I love them both..a big fan of core restore! 😍
