Kevin Schroeder is a synthesizer sound designer. He has programmed sounds for well-known synthesizer brands, including the film composers Hans Zimmer, Trevor Morris and Paul Haslinger.
This soundset offers a multitude of complex "cinematic sequences". These can be played with one key and are ideal for creating a complete song. Using both layers and multiple parameter tracks simultaneously in the sequencer creates very dynamic and atmospheric soundscapes. No additional samples needed. No samples were used in this set! Of course it can be used with only one IRIDIUM and QUANTUM as well.

I don't even own any Waldorf instruments, I'm just here to appreciate the awesome sounds!
Earlier this year, I bought a Micro Q rack off Reverb for a very good price. You may want to consider that. The Waldorf wavetable products are a bit pricier, though.
Same here. Waldorf gear sounds great, especially with a bit of effects processing.
Wow, gobsmacked.... this thing is a dream Synth for me, being disabled and unable to walk around, this thing would keep me occupied for a lifetime.....I can only imagine the music i could compose...However, being poor, i will never own one, only in my dreams.
Bro, save up for a touch screen laptop and get some vsts online.
This synth is absolutely incredible. Time to work a bunch of overtime and sacrifice my mental health to feed the GAS. It's a vicious cycle. Awesome job on the sound design and performance.
Of all the synthesizers I have heard this is off the charts, in the best possible way. Deep, full sounds, with a great body of sound. Some synths have good sound but full body is missing. I'm impressed.
duše i srdce mého.
I LOVE YOU !!!
That's incredible. Such a deep sound
Incredible.
Really nice sounds....Love the Nixie Clock too! I have a bunch myself.
Totally blown away by the synth and these sound designs, awesome!
Every now and then I come to UA-cam and torment myself with videos of people playing the Iridium, it is so beautiful but so out of my price range
You’re not alone !
This video was worth it for watching your tube clock roll over at 1:13 alone. Great synthesis btw!
Thx! ;))
One could argue how smart it is to watch a gear video that will inevitably have one check one's bank account...
So far I keep not learning this lesson.
It's expensive enough to were you intuitively know if you should buy it.
Especially when video demonstrates the use of two of them
Worth every cent
@@MatthiasH70 That appears to be the general consensus. And now, there's the keyboard version as well.
The ultimate synth!....
Had one for a while now ,no problems ,great sounds, very deep
My lord that sounds AMAZING!
These patches are totally amazing
Sounds great. Video looks like you are flying the starship!
Came out of curiousity , watched a performance , discovered a piece of art !!
SIMPLY FANTASTIC!
Thanks for the beautiful sounds. I own quite some (exotic) synths, but still need this one !
You have clearly bonded with the Waldorf. You have the best demo I’ve seen by far. Excellence.
I love this synth...sounds amazing....way beyond my budget but awesome sounds. Good job.
And he's got two of them as well just to rub it in. LOL
So great, Kevin! And awesome and deep world of audiovisual experiences. Thx for your design!
Thx! ;)
My man! 💯 You’re winning the game! 🥇
Love The Sound's Mate Well Done
Kevin this is outstanding. No words. Beautiful…
Thanks!
beautiful! 👍
Excellent, very convincing !
Now I know what my next synth will be...an Iridium !
Great sound.
Fantastique bravo
This is insane 🤘🤘🤘
Wow Kevin this performance at 3.15 ❤
And the rest too...
Great sound synth
I absolutely love this sound set! I use it on my Quantum.
Thank you!
Lots of movement :- ) NICE !
Very impressive. I'll have to reconsider the Iridium desktop on the basis of this video
This sounds wonderful. Dammit. I want one
Amazing asf I am gonna be getting these patches
These two look so crazy next to each other I thought your video thumbnail was an AI picture. Incredible sounds.
Holy crap these arps gave me goosebumps
At last! Great
Awesome, big soundscapes! That video reminds me, I still have to order the tc electronic Clarity gadget... ;-)
2.00 or thereabouts some great early 80s Depeche Mode type bass sequence...bits of these reminded me of A Broken Frame AND Black Celebration
this is very good
This is the best sounding video of iridium, I'm so tempted but all the quality issues I've read about give me pause.
The average restless synth nerd will tend to judge an instrument by its sounds and features and value for money. And oversee when the hardware itself is a brilliant piece of art. Like the Iridium.
It's in a league of It's own. I'm a minimalist when it comes to space. This is a must buy, hands down. Even the price has to be dealt with...like buying gas.
Solamente un Iridium è il Massimo...ma 2 Iridium è MAGIA PURA
Thank you for the video. I think you are starting to inspire me to make videos of my Iridium keyboard and Moog Matriarch. Not sure how I feel about being on video. But what can’t be done on the Iridium?…I have not found anything yet. With time and effort I can seemingly make any sound I want with it which still blows my mind.
Software synths I didn’t have inspiration to keep going.
Oh dear. Now I want one…
Bought it - Great Devise...
I owned the desktop. Sold it. Now I have the keyboard version and without question it is the most intense synth instrument I’ve owned, I started with a Korg DW-8000 in 1986. I’ve had dozens of synths. This is the finest.
iridium keyboard is bananas
That’s no small statement
I agree it sounds awesome judging from various demos. How does it relate to the Quantum?
Well this sounds incredible. 😅
Bought it after I saw a demo from Martin Sturtzer. ... waiting patiently
Nice sounds! More dance music patches please! 🤟
Yes but the real question is will I be able to make one sound half as good 🤔
This is epic and now i must break the 🐷 🏦
is crazy machine
do some more please..i might but 2..need more input
😍
Мой любимый синтезатор. Будут деньги куплю.
Damn. Two at once!
Pimp shtt
gigantic ...
Mine is on its way now…I was a little skeptical that it could be one of those synths that looks excellent on paper but then doesn’t sound good no matter how capable though I went ahead and got it anyway because I have faith in Waldorf but these demos sound excellent so I’m relived. Can’t wait to dive into mine when it arrives 🙌🏽
Did ya get it? Can I get your stamp of approval as someone with only analogue synths? :3
Hey Kevin could you create s Sound set that is kind of Epic Trance like you do for Dune 3 would be Amazing as all the things i find are based Score or ambient these i do have enough would be nice to hear some Virus style epic Trance leads..:)
So was kann ich mir gar nicht ansehen.. Mein Herz schmerzt denn ich bin arm
It's not cinematic if it can't BRAAAM
BWOOOOOONG
legit.)
Are you guys gonna force me to buy 2, so i can do this?
oh, to have two ....
What is the clock in the video. I want that.
That clock, though.
That's a nixie tube clock. Very nice clock indeed. Talibor Farny makes these and has video's about it on UA-cam.
I am confused. It looks different to the waldorf Iridium I can find in Shops and other videos here?
Torn between this and a moog sub37
Chalk and cheese I know!
Classic dare I say retro moog sound or
Futuristic bottomless possibilities 🤦🏻
Both would be great but not really an option at these prices.
Thoughts anyone? How long do you reckon it will be before these hit the used market?
With a demo like this think I know the iridium is going to be popular!
Two not fair
Are these on board or external fx?
what is a spectrum analyser model here?
It seems to be the "TC Electronic Clarity M Stereo" 😉
It takes two to make a thing go right.
No you can play all sounds with one Iridium.
@@DejaVuSound They sound absolutely beautiful mate. Its on the list.
Дас ист фантастиш...) Поливокс отдыхает!
it's a sound of 5000€... I'm a big fan...
How I'd like to own this gadget. I can't play any note, I'm only a Electric / Electronics Engineer and a musics enthusiast, owning a KORG X3, which is a joke compared to this. The recording is perfectly set in scene of course, with the Edison lamp and the timer/clock (how it's realized?). 👍🏻
Great. Me too. X3 and now this Desktop Version
very impressive and immersive performances. nice nixie clock

Kann das Teil Life Sample)
do you really need two iridium synths to achieve these soundscapes? The machine is multitimbral, so I assume you could have multiple synth patches on different midi channels to get the same results as heard in this video. Right?
Bitimbral
fuck me thats good
the Edison lamp is a bit much
Hat der Typ Zwei mal Iridium?
Schulze, Schnitzler, tengerin dreams...etc.
Is mir zu teuer.
(Blofeld Sting VOC)
@5:16 Is there a full track somewhere? That stuff was probably the single most awesome piece of music i have heard in my entire life..! I think maybe i found the synth ive been saving up for
yea, that sounded sick
Vengeance Producer Suite - Avenger v1.8 $230
My modular system can do more than enough to replicate this. But the design itself is enough to make me consider buying it
NO. I am a demanding consumer. If these sounds were really that awesome, I demand they would be already inside these synths when someone buys them.
You make no sense. Learn sound design and build your own patches that’s this point of any synth.
@@marsoblivi0n945 You're absolutely right. I am doing just that. It's just that I'm getting tired of all these 3rd party patch sellers. They're all over the web and when I want to preview what a synth sounds out of the box, I keep bumping on them, it's very frustrating..
So basically, your cat can sit on it and make trance music...
Mouais...ça sonne un peu ... ;-)
I can do the same with kurzweil pc3x but people are lazy and dumb so they will pay to push just 2 buttons for "wow" effect. And so goes the business.
At first I wondered why he was using two Iridiums. Then I remembered that Waldorf cheaped out by making the $2,600 Iridium duo-timbral. A flagship $2,500 synth that can, at most, utilize two different sounds at once? And play no more than 16 notes at the same time? In the year 2023??? Laughable in my opinion. But then again that seems to be the nonsense that most all synth manufacturers are doing these days. Good video otherwise....
Waldorf Iridium plays fine but has poor build quality and freezes.
really? I'm about to order one from Thomann - do You think it's not worth buying?
@@TheGhostBuddy I wrote to them asking about the quality of this instrument, unfortunately no one answered me. I for one have cancelled my order.
I have owned the Iridium for 1 month and I have had only one issue with a lock up. I am running on version 2.5.3. When I first received it was missing all the built in presets and I had to get support to give me the instructions and the downloads to reinstall all of them. This almost made me return it but I have been very happy sense.
The only thing I wish it had was a better built in sequencer but I am using my Elektron Octatrack MKII. The sounds this instrument makes is just astonishing! Endless possibilities... This is the last synth I will need for a long time.
@@darkeldarblade916 The problem is, for the money, it should be perfect. I'm moving towards virtual instruments after giving up on the purchase. For the rest, the Iridium is digital too.
Sound like a fucking laptop.
A laptop can't do real time audio synthesis for sounds as complicated requiring as many voices as the waldorf can produce. Maybe a very powerful desktop, but when you start adding voices you need to add either cpu or latency.
My 2020 mac pro laptop can't use more than 1 instance of phaseplant using a similar cinematic patch or it will hit the cpu limit. But I can run audio from my collection of synths and modular gear straight into my DAW with almost no latency.
