Just wanted to give a shout out to Fray. Fished many years with very little success, found flossing not very rewarding. Started watching you this Spring, gave me new excitement. Got a few arctic spinners and started cathing fish.
Fantastic video Fray! Thank you for being such a good role model and setting a good example for the youth fisherman on how to be respectful when your in the outdoors. Keep it up!!
I love the beautiful creeks and fishing opportunities on your side of the lakes. Out of shape my ass...you sir are young, so enjoy... Thanks for the videos you put out, I've been watching for a long time. Cheers from Ontario!
If you don’t mind me asking why river is that? I’m from southwest Michigan and am looking to go up north for the first time this year and don’t exactly know where to go. Awesome video bro!
Oh thank god! lol. Been dying here in WNY to hear the good news they were coming in up there. We usually are a few weeks behind u guys so this gives me hope I don't have to suffer thru the dog days much longer!
Very cool video dude. You just blew the minds of soo many googan flossers. Love it! I've seen you riverside a few times. Always a pleasure. Hope you enjoy your salmon season.
I do the same thing with the coho and chinook in the Platte river. I keep them. The meat might not look the best but it taste great. I only keep males the meat is more red. Old bay on the stove
Had 4 days on the river boating to holes in between high bridge and Matson's last morning before heading home went up to tippy yesterday and slammed one seemed like morning were best but I gotta feeling still a little warm good vid keep it up!
Great video!! You absolutely kill them with that Artic spinner. Fun to watch. Might take a trip out the lake shore area this weekend after watching seeing this...
This fishing it's very interesting, and first I thought it was fly fishing but then I paid attention and it's complete different. All the best. Great video.
Good content man. I'll be heading over soon. Right now the STEELHEAD are going nuts on lake Huron and I live right here on it so that is what I'm doing this and next week in my boat. Then heading over. But I was in Ludington last week. Got some good footage there.
Nice video. Looked everywhere to find an Arctic spinner in any color and nothing. You mention in there is a link . Can't find that anywhere either. Please advise. I want to try that.
I been watching most of your videos trying to get some info but I’ve had no luck this year on the PM the fish are their but no luck. Just got my first center pin just wondering what you use for backing? Thank you for all the great videos
Dude you need to come out to the Pacific Northwest and try our salmon fishery here. You'll be blown away by the beauty of the coastal river for fall Chinook and winter steelhead.
@@FishFray thanks, good video, would you call this a good strong rod for all size salmon and trout? i am in canada, do you know if they will ship it to Canada?
Hint, if you tie on your stinger first, and then your main hook, you can get the exact separation you wanr, without having to fight that short tag end.
I live in California Sacramento, I’m 5 minutes away from the American river but can never catch a salmon. I’m really new to salmon fishing and I am really trying hard to get my first salmon.
So glad and surprised at this vid! They always come to Michigan before they hit over here in Wisconsin but it's a good feeling to know it's literally around the corner.... now only if my work schedule would cooperate we could get some shit done!
We get all the salmon here pinks kings coho. Usually second week of September thru the end of October. I've landed maybe 9 kings in 3 years of doing it
Gonna be a great fall! Awesome that you mix up the spinner with the skein! Looked like it about took the rod out of your hand! Good job putting your time in on the water!

Love watching your videos. Come up every year from Cincinnati to salmon fish, late Sept./early Oct. So excited to see the first glimpses of this year's run. Thanks soooo much for creating and sharing such great content. Have a GREAT FALL SEASON!
Great 👍 recipe 😋, simple is always best!! Another great start to the season!! Got Skien? 😆 Say if your hook gap is legal, can you twitch jigs in Michigan rivers? And does the hook gap only apply to certain rivers!! Great video!!
Yes, jigs are legal in most Michigan rivers but not all. Hook gap regulations are in effect only for certain rivers , but those rivers are most of the main salmon runs we have
@@FishFray Thanks 👍! I was curious because in NY rivers,to prevent Snagging, you can't do what is called Snatching, Blind Snatching or lifting, the latter looking a lot like twitching!! Again that was after the Ban on Snagging! PS, sorry 😔 to hear your are not guiding!!
Thanks for the video fray! I havent been able to get out fishing for a while, this gives me my dose of fishing. Gonna go pick up some of those spinners - really interested in trying that some day!
I’m confused with these rod setups lately, like are the a damn fly rod or no lol. Why does it look like there’s just fluorocarbon line on the reel. What is this kind of set up called?
This is called a centerpin reel, it looks like a fly rod but really isn't similar. It's just a free spinning spool that holds a floating mainline used for drifting bobber setups
Think a big chartreuse streamer will work like that spinner? I know it’s the vibrations mostly, but I’ve always thought it’s a pretty goofy color haha. I have heard, if it ain’t chartreuse it ain’t no use lol 😂
