I was one of those people that thought the 2015 model was terrible at first, talked a ton of shit about how they should have done this or that.. but when that 350R came out I did a little more looking in to them and now I love the S550. This '18 is the shit. Hoping to get one in the near future.
same here i bought a 13 over a 15 because i thought they were hideous.. shit now now im lookin forward to getting a 2020 lol
Real Mustangs are the manuals. I had an 89 GT back in the day, and it was one of the most fun cars I ever had. The transmissions are literally bullet-proof, and you may burn a few clutches, (depending on how you drive) but they don't break down & cost a fortune to rebuild/replace like an automatic does. GET THE MANUAL!
The 18 is just on another level compared to the 15-17 cars in the GT. I recently had my 15 GT Vert totaled when I got hit head on otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered going to an 18 because I didn't see that much difference other than 25 more HP.....What a difference is all I could say.....I'm glad to see the new manual trans is working out well for the people who got it. I love my A10 so it's nice to see people get a quality selection either way they choose.

I'm so glad you did a video comparing the 2018 manual transmission vs the 15-17. I'm so tired of reviews of the 2018 but nobody addresses the new transmission comparison. At least with you we know what you're talking about since you drive an S550 as well.
Ha.. when I heard you say $28,500 I had to look up the year this was posted. It's 2022 now and the 2018 GT is going for $40,000 AND UP... post pandemic insanity.

That’s my car minus the spoiler. Transmission feels great and I’ve never had a problem with it, honestly not sure how anyone can say anything bad about this transmission

Sweet car I'm jealous I'm looking at new mustangs but with putting no money down the payments are $500 and up. It's kinda ridiculous the money it costs now for a new car!

@Big sexy that's relatively cheap considering you're not putting any money down,i bought a 2012 GT/CS used in 2014 after trading my 2004 v6 and putting $2500 down my payment was about $500 plus insurance,yikes !

Ford lost touch with the Mustang GT shopper demographic. The Mustang is supposed to be a cheap sports car. Do you guys remember the MSRP of a 2011 Mustang GT?
Did the car have any vibration in the clutch or grind in the shifter with the high RPM shifts? If not, do you know what build date this car had?

@ 3:24 the base Mustang GT comes with 2011-2014 Performance Pack four-piston brakes and not the 2015-2017 ones with six-piston calipers. The wheels on this car are not standard, they are the 2015-2017 Performance Pack mags and his tire set up is weird, with Goodyear in the front and Pirelli P Zero in the back...
Kheireddine El-Ahdab these are the same wheels the pp1 comes with on the 18’s and I’m sorry but having different tires front and rear is bad how?
Kheireddine El-Ahdab also 2015+ base models have their 4 piston brakes they are not from 2014. My buddy upgraded his 14 to these they’re not the same
Exact Cody, I have '18 PP with the same wheels, I assume that he installed used 2015-2017 wheels coming from two different cars. Maybe that explains the different tires...
It is also not exact to say that those are 2015-2017 PP brakes which were 15" rotors with 6 piston calipers like on the 2018.

What's better, 4th gear with the 1:1 ratio or 5th gear with the 1:1
Mike Bradford 4th, I have this exact same car.
4th as there’s less shifting and less of a drop in rpm between 1:1 and OD as you now have the choice of two ratios. I hated when a speed felt to fast for 5th but to slow for 6th. 1st no longer feels useless in the 3:73 cars. Just my opinion.
Before I watch the video did you mention or utilize nimble thrust control??

Gear ratio must be like the T 5 from the 1985 GT 2.95 first gear now you can boost the 18 with having to shift the first three gear so early

Teege couple of 2018 MT82 breaking due to aluminum shift forks bending where as older MT82s were made of steel.

The real bad news is that at Ford quality is job none! My 2021 Mustang GT premium was a big lemon. I could live with the cheap plastic interior and glitchy electronics but the clucky garbage 6 speed manual transmission was just garbage! I'm not the only one who thinks so, look at the class action that has been launched against Ford. Fortunately I was able to sell it and buy a real car from another manufacturer. It's no wonder Ford stopped building cars...I'll never buy another Ford...EVER!
