    I bought my MT07 new in 2017. I have used it locally in England and it great. I have toured the UK and its great. I have toured France and its great. I took a trip to Croatia and Slovenia in 2017 and it was great. When I tour I have a large amount of luggage and it performs and handles great. I regularly get 200 miles from a tank and its not empty at that time. I regularly get up to 70mpg if I stay within the speed limits when touring. This is a fantastic bike and has masses of torque which is great for real world riding. Hope this helps people who are trying to decide.

    Thanks for this review. I own a 2017 mt07 and have ridden it for 22k km. Also got a review on my channel.
    I 100% agree with everything you mentioned in this video. For me the bike also became a bit unstable on highway speeds. Nothing to worry about. However, I installed wilbers suspension in the front and back and the whole bike is completely different.
    The mirrors and indicators are not great. But I argue that every penny that you safe when buying this bike can be spent in upgrades. I bought new indicators, mirrors, suspension, exhaust, front light and for me this bike is perfect now. Yes, people might say "why nor spend all that money in a bigger bike with all of that extra included?" because I think this engine is perfect for the city and with all speed limits in mind. It's more fun to ride a "slow" bike fast, than a fast bike slow. Plus with all these extras that make this a very individual bike I still spent less than a mt09 sp.

    I bought mine five years ago, it has around 10k miles now. Overall is an all-round bike for the price, lightweight, powerful enough, and good looking, it's two major flaws to me are:
    Suspensions (especially the front end)
    A clutch that likes to drag way too much

  • @mjl4010
    @mjl4010 3 роки тому +2

    I bought a '20 as a second bike (I also have a '17 R1200RT.) It wobbles like that because in order for it to be an entry level bike they have to skimp on some aspects - suspension in this case. I swapped out the rear spring and the fork springs and it's a different bike. I'd never top 100 on it - I got this to just chill on side streets withg - but it's so much fun because it's so light and nimble.

    Not sure what you have going on but I take mine to 140 with zero wobble. I have a lot of mods but none to change the steering all stock there. Maybe run some better tires? Unless my wind screen stabilizes it? I feel safe at those speeds but I rarely do them it is a naked after all. I got rid of the R6 to stay out of trouble lol.

    I know everyone loves the mt07 and it’s engine. I bought one a few months ago and put about 500 miles on it and traded it in for a cb1000r. I knew pretty much right away that it wouldn’t work for my needs. As you briefly mentioned there is no replacement for displacement. Loved everything about the mt07 but the motor, should’ve just went with my original gut feeling and got the mt09.

    I'm just about to hit 5k miles on my 2022. I've been so on the fence about picking up an akrapovic exhaust for it. I actually do like how quiet the stock muffler is, but I LOVE how the akrapovic sounds. Also it's 900 dollars D: What do you think? Do you think it's worth the price tag? And how loud is it compared to stock? I don't mind something a bit louder. But I don't really love the exhausts that just rattle windows as you cruise through neighborhoods.

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  7 місяців тому

      The Akra exhaust on this bike sounds amazing 👌. With the DB reducer installed, the exhaust note isn’t obnoxiously loud. It’s significantly louder than stock, but not ear piercing like some of the 3 or 4 cylinder engines. I was happy with the Akra exhaust.

    Great review but all your complaints is a $200 fix so in 13,000 miles, why did you not fix them. Steering Dampner, TST led turn signals and head light bolb up grade for night riding is about $200 🤔. It is a great commuter bike that get great gas milage low maintance, low insurance, oil and air filter and tires maybe a chain and sproket if you don't keep it clean and oiled 👍 Good job Yamaha.

    I own an MtT 07 2014 (Europe). I don't have the issue with instability at high speeds.
    However a big downside to having a budget suspension is that the fork dive is quite pronounced under heavy breaking and it bottoms out. This means that the breaking performance suffers quite a bit.

    • @nazariimoroz6216
      @nazariimoroz6216 2 роки тому +1

      Well it depends on what speeds you are talking about because he's talking about miles and above 110 essentially means 180kmh, which to me sounds like way beyond high speeds for Canadian highways XDD

    • @davidleonard8369
      @davidleonard8369 2 роки тому

      Fix your forks. See, Dave Moss tuning. There's no excuse it's cheap and easy. My mt is rock steady way north of 120 mph. Has way less dive and corners very well. Only takes a bottle of bel ray 20wt fork oil and a little bit of your time.

    Well if top end h.p. look at the MT10 . The MT 07 was not designed for top end speed it was for a short commuter bike and to be playful in the city in which it checks all the boxes . It's quick and very agile and a little wheelie bike that has a handful of ♠️s . Its not a good two up bike

    Is the FZ-07 a good starter bike for new riders such as myself? Been looking at a lot of bikes like the CB650R, Street Triple, SV650 but for some reason; the FZ-07 just screams my name.

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  3 роки тому

      Hey Adrian, generally speaking, starting off on a smaller displacement bike (think KTM 390 Duke or Kawasaki Ninja 400) is a good approach to riding. If that's not something you'll entertain, then something in the FZ-07 or SV650 range could be a decent place to start. I personally like the look of the FZ more than the SV, but you know what they say about opinions :) Let me know what you end up with!
