Yea but when they are clearly homeruns the ump behind the plate signals the pitcher to throw the next one, because as soon as it's past the wall you're allowed to throw the next pitch.
I wish muncy would’ve made it to the final.. his first round looked so promising but I’m sure he was tired as hell, and being a “ nobody “ in front on a stage that big I give him a lot of respect for keeping the composure he did
@@corbin_floyd old rules of the derby are pitch cant be thrown till ball lands. Umps there to tell pitcher that it's landed and it can be thrown. Swarber got robbed. Last two years rules have changed to timed after last pitch.
Isn’t the pitcher not allowed to throw until the ball actually hits the ground or clears the stands? Schwarber actually beat him by at least 4-5 Home Runs
Jesus Esparza their is an ump behind the batter who signals when the pitcher can throw they don’t always signal when the ball lands it’s up to their discretion.
No, the ball needs to hit the ground OR once it has cleared the wall (meaning it doesn't have to land in the stands, only clear the wall and it's a dead ball). They have umps and officials with headsets all over the park, and as soon as the ball is directly above the wall they tell the ump behind the plate to signal for the next pitch.
Was on the edge of my seat watching this finale, couldn't have scripted it better myself. This new derby format is better, as it allows hitter time to get into a groove. Would love to see 30 derbys a year, one in each ballpark.
People say it was rigged but if this was done in Chicago, Schwarber would've gotten the same treatment. It was crazy how Harper was able to hit all those HRs at the last moment, that ain't easy: these guys are fatigued after swinging almost 100 times..
Alex tillery he's in the all star game is because he's a popular player, he was literally voted in by fans, it has nothing to do with were it was hosted.
Nah yea it was absurd with Harper but he was at home so it was obvious he was gonna win. But whether it was 1 pitch or 10 it's still not going by the rules lol
Eduardo Garcia just because your at your home stadium doesn't mean your obviously going to win. Look at the home run derby in San Diego. Will Myers was at home stadium and didn't win
Shemar Green no Kyle did not win, if it weren’t for his size bregman would’ve and should’ve beat him in the first round and even with Harper cheating he still would’ve won
Clearly rigged. They were throwing the pitches before the ball landed, but it wouldn't be good for the mlb if he didnt win, so I get why.. Still a fun event to watch
uh oh no it’s not I’ve said it too much to say it anymore look behind the batters their is an ump who tells the pitcher when he may throw the ball it was up to the ump when he could pitch. And you can’t rig anything like this 🤦♂️
Nicholas Thompson also I know you cant physically rig a homerun derby, but give a guy who can hit homeruns extra swings hes likely to hit more homeruns, give kyle those extra swings and the result might have been different
Moron, look up the rules, read the fine print. The ball has to hit the ground OR clear the wall. It doesn't need to land in the stands, once it's directly above the wall, they officials all around the park, tell the ump behind the plate (They all have headsets, ear pieces and whatnot) to signal for the next pitch.
Put Judge in there and the results are different. Sorry, but the Home Run Derby is unpopular with players for a reason. Also Harper was getting pitches before the previous hits had landed. Why make rules if you don't follow through with them?
All you people saying that balls didn’t hit the ground before his dad threw the next pitch. He still had 22 seconds left after he won, and each ball would have taken 1-2 more seconds to hit the ground. And you say 4-5 didn’t hit the ground before he threw the next pitch, so he still would’ve had ATLEAST 8-10 seconds left after he beat Schwarber.
that 4 hr streak should've never counted....none of them hit the ground before the next pitch was thrown Schwarber got robbed bigtime...god forbid this d-bag doesn't win the Derby since the Caps are hometown heros for winning the Cup. This is one All-Star break that is forgettable
30 extra seconds for hitting a ball over 475 feet. One time out per round but two time outs in final round. Why time outs? Because after you've swung at 15, 20 25, 30 or more balls in a short time your arms are dead feeling.
You have to hit 2 440 or higher to get the extra 30 second bonus times, Aguilar and Bregman didnt do that. But Bregman was 100x more impressive than Aguilar in my opinion, Aguilar did not impress me one bit.
I called that Harper would win on my channel but deleted the vid WOO LETS GO BRYCE all star game tonight hopefully it is good but I would like solid pitching
If the rules didn't apply in the finals they should of told Schwarber. Only reason he officially lost was because he played by the rules. End of the day tho, Schwarber 55 homeruns, Harper 45 homeruns. Cubs still #1
A lot of people are complaining like the HR derby means anything big to a season or a career, it’s all theatrics a stunt to get baseball even more popular with the casual fan.
Harper and his dad broke the rules. I didn't say cheat. Why even have the derby if you can't honor the rules. LAME. Schwarber won the home run derby and should be given the trophy. Come on MLB pull your heads out of your butts..
Harper wouldn’t hit the ball till it landed, he would start his load before it landed but the rule states you can’t hit the ball before it lands which he wasn’t. Also half the time his dad was throwing like shit while Kyles pitcher was grooving him inside fastball after inside fastball
He probably would have won anyways in bonus time and this was more exciting. It's a HR derby, not a playoff game. Plus it was his home park so why not bring down the house
Change the Home Run Derby to 10 outs, so all these crybabies can shut up already. Cubs fans will remember this for 2 years that they'll forget their 100 year drought.
Harper sucks and he cheated. The ball was still high in the air when Bryce Harper’s dad through the next pitch. Kyle you really won! Boo you Mr. I am a cheater. (Bryce Harper)
Cubs Baseball Opposite to me. I started liking the nats in 2016 after i moved to dc. But before that i was a diehard astros fan. When they won it I was happy but I wasn’t going to switch.
Scottyos for the wins harpers dad was pitching before the previous hit landed. At one point you can see the umpire holding is hand up as to say wait but harpers dad pitched it anyways
incoming: *salty Yankees fans saying Judge would win this year if he was in it*
Now both are on my phillies team awesome
At least 4 balls didn't hit the ground first in the last 30 seconds.
Yeah I noticed that too
It’s not enforced and their is an ump behind the batter who signals to the pitcher when he can throw so it’s up to the umpires discretion.
Yea but when they are clearly homeruns the ump behind the plate signals the pitcher to throw the next one, because as soon as it's past the wall you're allowed to throw the next pitch.
Robert Snider no it's when it lands Stanton tried the same shit last year
Craft Beer Saint Some of schwarbers balls didn't either. Y'all need to calm down
I wish muncy would’ve made it to the final.. his first round looked so promising but I’m sure he was tired as hell, and being a “ nobody “ in front on a stage that big I give him a lot of respect for keeping the composure he did
As much as I love the dodgers he would’ve gotten beaten in the semifinals anyway cause he was goin against the best homerun hitters on the east coast
Impressive, but Dad pitched before previous home runs hit the ground.
The umpire behind and to the side of the catcher tells him when he can throw
@@corbin_floyd old rules of the derby are pitch cant be thrown till ball lands.

Jesus Esparza he cheated
SPN Gaming no he didn’t don’t say anything if you don’t know what your talking about.
Nicholas Thompson the umpires allowed him to cheat so there could be a good homerun derby story this year
Was on the edge of my seat watching this finale, couldn't have scripted it better myself. This new derby format is better, as it allows hitter time to get into a groove.
Would love to see 30 derbys a year, one in each ballpark.
This was the most fantastic home run derby finally something to admire⚾⚾⚾
Them last piches were setup
Thought you had to wait until the ball landed to throw the next pitch
Ryan Berner the ump behind the plate gives a signal when to throw. If he thinks it’s obviously a home run he’ll call it early
4 Sure but only when harper is hitting
4 Sure but you see the ump not signalling he can throw it and it's still thrown
They were doing the same with schwarber calm down
Christian Whitmire no they were not
People say it was rigged but if this was done in Chicago, Schwarber would've gotten the same treatment.
It was crazy how Harper was able to hit all those HRs at the last moment, that ain't easy: these guys are fatigued after swinging almost 100 times..
They gave him the home field advantage some of the balls didn’t hit the ground but his father still pitch them
The only reason he is in the all stars is because there were playing at his home stadium
Alex tillery he's in the all star game is because he's a popular player, he was literally voted in by fans, it has nothing to do with were it was hosted.
Avery Fabian agree with fans voting him in. But harper is overrated
austin Khan 100% and he is having a bad year. I agree that he shouldn't be an all star this year entirely
He’s actually a good player maybe that’s why he made the hr derby.
It’s yu boi Kobester 44 he's not bad but he's definitely having an off year
Bregman did really good
Shwarber hit 16 home runs with the 30 more seconds and Bregman got 15 homeruns with no extra seconds
7 times when he threw the ball early. #justice4schwarber
Nathan Pinarski not really he cleared the wall
It has to hit the ground before you can throw it no matter what
Nathan Pinarski no it doesn’t clearly.
At least 5 balls didn't land, what has become of the sport!!!
The Mouse but they cleared the wall
I hated that Harper won. Well he didn't actually win because he cheated to win. Kyle actually won
Tbh Kyle got quick pitched against Bregman as well so yea... If they did it right who knows who would've won
Eduardo Garcia ok but look at how many times Harper got kick pitched and compare to how many times Kyle got kick pitched

Judge watched and literally said awwwww thats cute
They should do like before, with the 10 outs
He said "gimmie that shit boy" 😂😂
Still hard to watch Schwarber get robbed.
And you can’t rig anything like this 🤦♂️
Nicholas Thompson and that ump is employed by who...? Harper needed to win
Nicholas Thompson also I know you cant physically rig a homerun derby, but give a guy who can hit homeruns extra swings hes likely to hit more homeruns, give kyle those extra swings and the result might have been different

Robert Snider you cant call people morons if youre wrong robby rob
This is a country boy's contest.
Aaron Judge would have definitely won this year too
judge swings and misses to much
he won last year bud he definitely doesnt swing and miss too much lmao its the homerun derby
nah
Crazy they are teammates now
I'd love to see see a skills competition. Drop the softball game
Put Judge in there and the results are different.
Sorry, but the Home Run Derby is unpopular with players for a reason.
Also Harper was getting pitches before the previous hits had landed. Why make rules if you don't follow through with them?
Schwarber worked so hard in the offseason to get more power just to get cheated in the home run derby.
He didn't get cheated
And you can’t grammar
All you people saying that balls didn’t hit the ground before his dad threw the next pitch. He still had 22 seconds left after he won, and each ball would have taken 1-2 more seconds to hit the ground. Harper at 00:39
Nineteenth homer for Harper who did it in life!
that 4 hr streak should've never counted....none of them hit the ground before the next pitch was thrown
Schwarber got robbed bigtime...god forbid this d-bag doesn't win the Derby since the Caps are hometown heros for winning the Cup.
This is one All-Star break that is forgettable
Frederick Glass you can start throwing once you clear the wall on hits the ground if it's not a home run
oh shit. is Bryce thinking that he is a Superhero? Captain America maybe! Hilarious!
This was fun to watch. Harper won it in thrilling fashion
Lmao 9 hrs in 40 seconds that Harper hit
Now they're teammates
Me and my dad were yelling at the tv because Bryce’s dad threw like 5-6 balls in a row
are the nats going to trade harp at the deadline. or are they going to let him walk for free
Why does he get extra 30 sec and Alex bregman didn't get his 30+sec and he takes two times out
Paul Aguilar He only took 1 and yet they didn’t give him time
Paul Aguilar Because you have to get 2 440+ ft homeruns to get the extra 30 second bonus time, Harper did that, Bregman didn’t.
- Random Mets Fan

Was anybody else yelling at Bryce Harpers father to get the damn ball over the plate in that last round? He won despite his dad's pathetic pitching.
Schwarber got robbed!!
Was Harper's bat corked?!?!
Sunglass Shinpan no and no
Sunglass Shinpan he was robbed and no he cheated because the balls didn’t land before they threw it
Schwarber kinda looks like James Corden lol
I’m sorry but why would MLB think that no one would cheat, like if it’s for a car, don’t you think they’d cheat
He's a beast!
Joey gallo should have been in ut
I really don’t care about this but seems like harpers dad speed the pitches up towards the end
I called that Harper would win on my channel but deleted the vid WOO LETS GO BRYCE all star game tonight hopefully it is good but I would like solid pitching
#Justice4Schwarber
I’m sad freeman didn’t win I’m a braves fan
If the rules didn't apply in the finals they should of told Schwarber. Only reason he officially lost was because he played by the rules. End of the day tho, Schwarber 55 homeruns, Harper 45 homeruns. Cubs still #1
michowski1 and
And Cubs are #1
Yes the cubs are #1 best team
A lot of people are complaining like the HR derby means anything big to a season or a career, it’s all theatrics a stunt to get baseball even more popular with the casual fan.
A Yung Brat that's cubs fans for ya
everyone hates bryce harpers attitude so naturally hes gonna go to the mets right ?
Great player
HARPER CHEATED
A G no he didn't cubs fan
Crybaby.
Damn no Chris Herman “back back back back!” baseball is at the entrance door into a back pocket sport such as lacrosse or cricket
Harper was hyped haha
I know it's a hr derby but it's too bad that Bryce is hitting like .215 for the year right now.
Harper and his dad broke the rules. I didn't say cheat. Why even have the derby if you can't honor the rules. LAME. Schwarber won the home run derby and should be given the trophy. Come on MLB pull your heads out of your butts..
Lol all these people hating on Harper 🔥🔥🔥

Why is this still a thing ??? I would rather watch CSI or The Bachlorette
They robbed Kyle Schwarber. Stop this clock crap go back to 10 outs
Travis Moore clock makes it more interesting
Who cheated by breaking the rules?
11:54
Noel López umps told him when to pitch
Scottyos for the wins they still had there hands up when he pitched it
We all know aaron judge would've won that
Austin Myers Hands down
We don't know that, period!!!
I'm a salty Cubs fan, but I say let him keep it, it'll be the closest he'll ever be to a World Series ring
Now there teammates.
Great now he'll be in a bigger slump during the second half of the season
The ball haven’t even landed yet🤦🏽♂️
He probably would have won anyways in bonus time and this was more exciting. It's a HR derby, not a playoff game. Plus it was his home park so why not bring down the house
crm1225 Because Kyle worked hard. How would you feel if someone broke the rules to beat you?
no harper was struggling right before the last minute and that’s when his dad start rapid pitching. no way he would have even tied it
さすが
Change the Home Run Derby to 10 outs, so all these crybabies can shut up already. Cubs fans will remember this for 2 years that they'll forget their 100 year drought.
Todd Frazier’s was better
Judge would’ve smashed both of them
Herman Delgado ^This guy.... sigh..
Doesn’t mean he is wrong 😂
Josh WIner to bad he didn't compete, guess you'll never know. Harper would still win. Scwarbs got screwed, Judge would have gotten screwed too
Nah
W829 L judge could put up 30 if he tried.
Harper my player
Fav player
Why does it feel like professional sports are scripted.
Here goes the he cheated comments
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Brandon Belt’s at bat took longer than Both of these guys to hit almost 40 homeruns
Come to Yanks Bryce
Do best plays by bad players
Rigged
SexyCastiel440 i would believe that it wasnt rigged if harper had to follow the rules and wait for the balls to land just like everyone else did
Cubby fanboys😂😂😂🔫
SexyCastiel440 ya i must be a cubs fan if i can see that harper didnt have to follow the same rules everyone else did
What a ridiculous power.
Bryce Harpers dad was cheating
Él mejor Harper⚾💪
Harper sucks and he cheated. The ball was still high in the air when Bryce Harper’s dad through the next pitch. Kyle you really won! Boo you Mr. I am a cheater. (Bryce Harper)
Shoutout to Bryce’s Dad
HARPER IS SUCH A CHEATER
Cubby fanboys😂😂😂
Salty people on here they were being signal when to throw so get the salt out Harper won so get over it

Bryce and his dad cheated
Why his dad

Harper cheater
Cubby fanboys😂😂😂
SexyCastiel440 if your calling me a bandwagon you are so wrong, all the bandwagons moved on to Astros
Cubs Baseball Opposite to me. I started liking the nats in 2016 after i moved to dc. But before that i was a diehard astros fan. When they won it I was happy but I wasn’t going to switch.
Harper cheated
J_s92 what rule did he break
Scottyos for the wins harpers dad was pitching before the previous hit landed. At one point you can see the umpire holding is hand up as to say wait but harpers dad pitched it anyways
rigged
Shit was rigged
He cheated
Spurs Fan Wrong
SexyCastiel440 right
Spurs Fan how?
Bryce cheated.
I'm Cubs and I'm pissed Kyle schwarber should of won 😡👎🖕
Schwarber sucks. His technique is poor.
