I love my 2018 Toyota Sienna XLE. All those complaints about it, I don't have. Cocoa is garage kept and very well maintained. I had no problem removing the seats. No problem putting them back in. Road trip!
I am huge car enthusiast, and I think the Mini Vans are very cool. I would get one over Crossover if I had a family. Sienna has a lot of power, and feel luxurious. I drove one with 200,000 miles, and it felt like it was brand new from a dealer.
This was way better than I expected from a KBB review, great info and humor! Love that you guys point out that ego is really the only thing keeping most people from buying a MV if they want a legit third-row vehicle.
It's easy to make an interesting super/hyper- car video. Making an interesting minivan video however... that's just a different league! Well done guys!
Aparna Barua well unlike you I was here for the van, there's this video called "5 Minivans that would Embarrass your Sports car" and this van was in it, but tbh I kept watching this review because of KBB😅
This Sienna still rides on a platform introduced for the 2007 Toyota Camry. The Camry we have now is, what, 2 generations ahead while this van is still stuck in the mid-2000s? lol the Odyssey will curbstomp this shitty old van.
Love KBB reviews; although I’m sure some people don’t get or appreciate Micah’s humor. I’m in the market for a minivan right now; like the Pacifica styling and Odyssey functionality, but the AWD system is a winner for me. We get snow and ice where I live; I’d feel better knowing my wife is driving the kids in an AWD vehicle. Perceived peace of mind, of course.
So it’s 2:47 am on a Friday night(Saturday morning) & me being a single 33 year old guy I’m on UA-cam watching a minivan review on my phone, in my apartment while eating pizza with the tv on mute. What is wrong with me? 🤔
Haha we own a '17 Sienna SE just like this one and LOVE IT! That thing is so comfortable, so much better than the Odyssey. I can't tell you the cars that think they can take me at the light and I just smoke them, this is no slouch in the speed department. We usually drive around with the 3rd row down and just leave the stroller and stuff in the back, excellent van all around! We tried 3 SUVs before hand but the Sienna blew them all around in room and comfort.
What is your definition of better? If you are interested in long term reliability then Toyotas can rarely be beaten. If you want a minivan that drives like a car then try the Honda. If you are just leasing for a couple of years then take a walk on the wild side with the Chrysler Pacifica which also comes as a Hybrid. It is your money, what is your priority?
Sienna is sitting on Camry chassis and The Odyssey is sitting on the Pilot and/or MDX chassis, which is safer than a Camry chassis. The Odyssey is lowered than Sienna as well and therefore, it is riding much smoother and sportier.
I love the looks of the new Pacifica and love the "stow and go" features....but based on the fact I keep and drive my cars/vans for a long time and a lot of miles....that eliminates Chrysler as an option for me. Reliability is more important to me than looks/options/pricing. I work for one of the largest auto warranty underwriters and administrators in the country (vehicle service contract provider) and the fact is, Toyota and Honda are just much less likely to fail than their American counterparts. Sucks, but it's an actuarial fact. Now, as a buyer, if you're in and out of autos every 3-5 years and stay under 90k miles or so.....you're probably "ok" with any of them, but if you're like my family that keeps cars up to the very high mileages....you'll regret buying American.
Pacifica sucks. They do not have the reliability of Toyota. Chrysler/Fiat was rated the worst in reliability by JD Powers. Chryslers won't make it past 100,000 miles.
I think this car is beautiful and functional. It would be my car in the USA. I had the opportunity to drive the Dodge Gran Caravan RT when I was there, I really enjoyed it, but I think the Toyota Sienna and Honda Odissey look better. Nice car.
I spent all of my time running the streets where you guys film...it makes me sad when i watch on a day off to be reminded of the hell i must go back too lol
“This care doesn’t have it” sign. 😂😂 My work has these vans, maybe 2017 models. They GOOOO... I’m not shocked it’s listed as having almost 300 hp, but now it’s get up and go makes sense. 😎
I have a family and looking to get a minivan soon cause my subaru impreza is too small for everybody especially stuff we need when go somewhere and this is the best minivan for me so far.. awd is a plus
I'm this ' ' close to buying one again. I had a 2006 that I had for 8 years and 336k miles. Not even light bulb went out in it. Sure I did the basic maintenance along with water pump change at 160 k, spark plugs, belt, hoses, battery (or did it have a chain? I forgot) etc. That was by far the best vehicle I've ever owned. I have a 2009 Lexus RX350 & Lexus IS350 that's giving me more problems then that Sienna. It's a hauler, camping sleeper, people mover and long haul swaggon. So looking to "upgrade" I recently took a look at the Lexus GX 460. What a JOKE that vehicle is. For the privilege of owning a $60k luxury badge you get to literally crawl as in climb over the second row of seats to get to the third row. Unbelievable. I'll pass.
I’m more a Suburban or Sports car kinda guy but I’m falling in love with minivans specifically hybrid minivans cause your getting 40 plus miles on a 8 seater that’s fantastic if you ask me
Only you guys can make a minivan review fun to watch. I liked the training montage followed by the arm wrestling challenge. It would have been funnier if you used the Rocky music.
Just bought a 2019 SE which is pretty much still the same (shocking I know). I ruled out the Chrysler by taking a quick look at their message boards. The amount of problems with that Van is very disconcerting. I previously had a 2005 Odyssey and had quite a few expensive issues with it (motor mounts, sliding door failure, suspension failures, power steering failure, A/C died, have to replace the rear liftgate struts every few months etc). There are lots of unhappy owners with the newer ones - major transmission issues, weak A/C, sliding doors. I judged the Toyota was going to be the more reliable choice for long term ownership. They stuffed quite a bit of tech into the older packaging. The Toyota message boards complain about minor things like lack of adjustable arm rests instead of being stranded on the side of the road because the engine died (i am looking at you pacifica).
I have never owned an SUV or a minivan before, and I don't understand the hate on this one. Could you guys share your opinions why you hate this vehicle that much and what other SUV or Minivan would you recommend?
Sean Mangubat it’s an old design. They’ve just been modifying the front of the car. They haven’t done anything to back ever since it was updated like in 2009
Here we go again, the Toyota haters reviewing another Toyota video. These guys bash the company every chance they get but yet still review their products.
I currently own a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan and really like the new Chrysler Pacifica. But I’m seriously tempted by the new sienna. I’m just concerned it won’t drive as well. Which is a big deal for me. I know it’s a minivan but I love the way my dodge drives
I would choose this over the competitor: good looking (subjective), only All wheel drive offer in its class, standard safety feature and it has the strongest engine as well as strong reliability. Lastly the best resale value for long term investment.
Yes, the Sienna is older than the Odyssey. Honestly in terms of features the Sienna has as much or more features than the Odyssey, plus better gas mileage. Not too bad for a dinosaur.
+Heyu Yoma What technology is the Sienna missing? Sure, I know about cabin watch and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. The Sienna offers all the driving tech the Odyssey offers. Plus the Sienna has AWD, dual moonroofs, and reclining captin's chairs.
+Heyu Yoma The Sienna also has streaming capabilities, wireless charging, and WiFi Hotspot. Although it doesn't have ventilated seats, magic slide, or a vacuum. In terms of lighting the Sienna offers HIDs, which probably perform better than Honda's jewel eye LEDs. I like both vans TBH. I do agree the Sienna should have been replaced for 2018. But, I think for it being the oldest van in the segment; it's still pretty competitive.
The Odyssey does not have tip up or a stowable center 2nd row seat though like the Sienna. MagicSlide is useless if a car seat is installed in the second row. BTW, the Odyssey also offers wifi and wireless charging.
I drove my Sienna FWD on a decent snow storm last year from Salem Oregon to San Juan Island in WA I was very impressed how well it handled on the snow. I highly recommend the SE Premium and if you can find a AWD it’s a plus. The only thing I hate is the stupid round reflectors in the back that only come on the SE trims.
I guess the LE AWD is the most desirable van according a salesman at my local dealership. LE is the trim they sell the most and he told me people go distances to pick one.
I can't see enough value in AWD to sacrifice fuel economy for it (which costs you more $$$ over time AND more $$$ up front to buy). Front wheel drive minivans are surprising capable in snow (I've never had an issue in my Odyssey's and we go skiing every Feb) and I doubt anyone is using a minivan to go "off road"....so AWD seems a bit unneeded, imo.
I disagree. They are very common here in California, where it doesn't snow. People need AWD to go up to ski at Lake Tahoe/Reno. Also, you can just buy a spare and replace the run-flats with regular tires.
I was told the XLE trim is the most popular and has the most value. The LE lacks a moonroof, power liftgate, leather, Driver EasySpeak, blind spot monitor, and rear parking sonar.
I wouldn't bye a sienna,i have a 2016 honda odyssey ex-l and the odyssey unlike the sienna has a rear entertainment system.the odyssey in my opinion is better.
I guess you need to put a couple of 2x4s in the back when you go to Home Depot to get 4x8s of sheetrock or plywood, because of those latches that jut up.
Sport tuned suspension on a minivan? No thanks. I drive a 2014 limited AWD, and the power is more than satisfactory. I like it a lot for the innocuous styling and the absurd level of practicality, and the AWD makes this the only minivan for me and a heck of a lot more valuable than an expensive SUV of similar size.
If Chrysler EVER licensees “Stow & Go” to Toyota, I’ll possibly consider going deeper into debt to buy a Sienna with that back saving feature!(Loved the Pacifica, but the Fiat Chrysler folks wanted more than I wanted to pay).
I love my 2018 Toyota Sienna XLE. All those complaints about it, I don't have. Cocoa is garage kept and very well maintained. I had no problem removing the seats. No problem putting them back in. Road trip!
My dad love his 2023 Toyota Sienna XSE
I love that you guys add humor to your review!
I cannot believe that a minivan review can be so entertaining. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
This is actually more practical for a family than an SUV , i cant understand why minivans demand is declining
because people hate minivans and wagons, but flock to CUVs which are secretly vans and wagons
Self image is a touchy thing for American families.
It looks cheap in person. Too much plastic.
because in general most people have a herd mentality. They want to be cool by being like everyone else! LOL
Same reason why we don't bonk ugly women, same components and all but she has to look good :D
Only AWD in its segment, big winner for me. Who cares about looks it's a mini van no matter.
pacifica has AWD
Andre Mcbreairty Do some more research.
You are talking about the older chrysler pacifica suv, we are talking about the new pacifica van.
The only mini van offering AWD currently is the Toyota Sienna.
Wrong.
Thanks, Lynx! Glad you enjoyed it!
The best car reviews in the business. Loved the training montage.
You reviewers are the best. Cracking me up every time I watch any of the KBB videos!
Love how the review is both entertaining and informative at the same time.
It's easy to make an interesting super/hyper- car video. Making an interesting minivan video however... that's just a different league! Well done guys!
Rarely is a review informative, entertaining and dead honest. Thx Micah
Best way to explain minivans are just SUVs that do the job better without the ego.
Yup!
I’d buy it. I really don’t give a damn what a new car looks like, if I’m gonna be inside the thing when I drive it, I’d rather have a nice interior.
Jank Paul the honda odyssey seems like a better choice than this one
Too much plastic
The most fun Minivan review on UA-cam!
Check out Doug DeMuro's review of the Odyssey for an even funnier one:
ua-cam.com/video/oOZ_Q6qzXuw/v-deo.html
Never cared or liked mini vans but I'll watch the video just because....KBB
Aparna Barua haha saw you on carwow too
Junayd A.A Ayyyeee I'm every wheeeaa
Aparna Barua well unlike you I was here for the van, there's this video called "5 Minivans that would Embarrass your Sports car" and this van was in it, but tbh I kept watching this review because of KBB😅
Aparna Barua that’s what I was just thinking about. Just bought my wife a mini van. Not in the market for another- but I just love the kbb reviews!
This guy is hysterical!! Love it!!
I'm a unrepentant mini van owner, and I'm browsing....but This guy is the best!!
If u are single, you can also buy this to live in.
I do. I sleep in it at night.
I Use it for lots of groceries.
im not a bum
@@forestgirl4071 Already measuring for my REI adjustable sleeping bed kot!
My thoughts exactly!!!
Guy does his own music as well. Getting close to being... the most intradasting man in the world.
I've owned a Sienna. Took it on a West Coast to East Coast road trip. It was a very pleasurable ride
This is the best car review I have ever seen!
I feel like the Odyssey has been redesigned 3x since this one was
matt k Don’t fix what’s not broken
It really is dated, there's cheap materials in the cabin and the style makes it seem like a decade old.
This Sienna still rides on a platform introduced for the 2007 Toyota Camry. The Camry we have now is, what, 2 generations ahead while this van is still stuck in the mid-2000s? lol the Odyssey will curbstomp this shitty old van.
There are cheaper materials on an Odyssey, and they skimp on paint.
The Odyssey can't hold up to the reliability and build of a Sienna.
Micah's reviews are the bomb diggity.
Almost indestructable! I didn't like them till I started driving railroad crews around in "offroad" conditions! Now this will be my next vehicle! 😲😉😁👍
I like this guy because he adds humor.
I actually loved this review...great job dude!
Great review as always!
Amazing review! Love the humor. Think I’m gonna get this car!
The other guy is just as hilarious as Micah...his cameos are always welcome
Doug DeMuro is funnier with his reviews.
Love my 2018 Sienna. Grandkids love the movie screen! Great review. Thanks!

Makes sense.
Why is it better than the Honda? I’m having trouble deciding between the two.
I guess Honda Oddysey, look more stunning, and look sporty as well..
Sienna is sitting on Camry chassis and The Odyssey is sitting on the Pilot and/or MDX chassis, which is safer than a Camry chassis. The Odyssey is lowered than Sienna as well and therefore, it is riding much smoother and sportier.
That 80's workout montage, excellent
I own a Siena with the 8 seats and love it! I think it looks cool actually.
Way funnier than it needed to be. Thanks! 👍
Two thumbs up for the Bishop knife-trick in the back. Amazing.
The facelift looks good! Pacifica is practical, Honda is so comfortable, and siennas is pretty. Hard to choose but Pacifica is the best!
I love the looks of the new Pacifica and love the "stow and go" features....but based on the fact I keep and drive my cars/vans for a long time and a lot of miles....that eliminates Chrysler as an option for me. Thumbs up for the final line. YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY WHAT YOU DRIVE. Also, minivans kind of kick ass.
I spent all of my time running the streets where you guys film...it makes me sad when i watch on a day off to be reminded of the hell i must go back too lol
Unquestionably the best van ever made
You're hilarious and cute to boot and the perfect spokes person for this here mini van. I'm sold.
One of the sleeper minivans 😅 Great review!
What was Toyota thinking when they added that grille?
Justin David
Smoking some good chit no doubt.😁
they were thinking of the corolla
Heyu Yoma the nose reminds me of the Infiniti SUV.
They hired the guy who design Aztec
It’s hideous it look better before
Finally a refreshed exterior
Live Count Central Semi
“This care doesn’t have it” sign. 😂😂 My work has these vans, maybe 2017 models. They GOOOO... I’m not shocked it’s listed as having almost 300 hp, but now it’s get up and go makes sense. 😎
good van but badly in need of an interior redesign. Exterior needs work too.
I have a family and looking to get a minivan soon cause my subaru impreza is too small for everybody especially stuff we need when go somewhere and this is the best minivan for me so far.. awd is a plus
This is it, I hope to find one on my car search....Thank you for the help.
My next minivan
hiep tan | did you get it?
I'm this ' ' close to buying one again. I had a 2006 that I had for 8 years and 336k miles. Not even light bulb went out in it. Got 1999 sienna and still love it.

Only you guys can make a minivan review fun to watch. I liked the training montage followed by the arm wrestling challenge. It would have been funnier if you used the Rocky music.
At 0:53 it is not head shoulders and hips. It is HEAD SHOULDERS KNEES AND TOES
Toyota rocks in resale value and reliability worldwide
0:52 missed opportunity for Head shoulder knees and toes joke

Facts (looks at the Chrysler) lol
When you mentioned those 300+HP , the wheel spin ... we could be talking about my next dream car :D
just took a test drive today on a siena L...not technology at all but we really liked
it..tomorrow am gone try the odyssey...
Excellent review
I love the sienna, styling included. The awd works well.
Really nice mini van I like it allot. I would love to have one for my family.
Love our Toyota Sienna, so we will upgrade to nothing else but a new Sienna. :)
That's great, Maidoua! Glad you love your Sienna!
These guys should be required to review all vehicles
I have never owned an SUV or a minivan before, and I don't understand the hate on this one. Could you guys share your opinions why you hate this vehicle that much and what other SUV or Minivan would you recommend?
This van has aged well. Still looks fresh.
Honda Odyssey grill looks much more mature which fits the consumer base of minivans. Even the pacifica is looking much more elegant than the Sienna.
Hate hate way too low to the ground dang it
I think Honda took a wrong turn at the 2011 generation. They still haven't corrected course yet.
If my neighbour bought this swagger vagon, I personally would be impressed!
Looking forward to see one of these in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
The Honda Odyssey does not have front illuminated cupholders and illuminated storage or windshield wiper de-icers like the Sienna.
Eww, lmao. The Camry looks so good, what happened to the front of this? The Sienna badly needs a full redesign.
Sean Mangubat it’s an old design. They’ve just been modifying the front of the car. They haven’t done anything to back ever since it was updated like in 2009
I think it looks nice.
Here we go again, the Toyota haters reviewing another Toyota video. These guys bash the company every chance they get but yet still review their products.
I have a 2000 Nissan Quest and it runs really well and I have had it for 16 year the only thing is it’s missing a gps
I currently own a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan and really like the new Chrysler Pacifica. But I’m seriously tempted by the new sienna. I’m just concerned it won’t drive as well. Which is a big deal for me. I know it’s a minivan but I love the way my dodge drives
You guys are goofy. Love it.
Nice homage to Lance Hendrikson (in Alien II) at minute 2:11.
I would choose this over the competitor: good looking (subjective), only All wheel drive offer in its class, standard safety feature and it has the strongest engine as well as strong reliability. Lastly the best resale value for long term investment.
Love this video.

I like both vans TBH. I do agree the Sienna should have been replaced for 2018. But, I think for it being the oldest van in the segment; it's still pretty competitive.
Odyssey gets 28 mpg highway vs. 27 for Sienna (FWD). Confirmed by Car and Driver.
Right, like Toyota SafetyConnect which the Odyssey does not have.
The Odyssey does not have tip up or a stowable center 2nd row seat though like the Sienna. MagicSlide is useless if a car seat is installed in the second row. BTW, the Odyssey also offers wifi and wireless charging.
Much awaited van.
Dude that was super rad
Where's Zach?!
This would look so much better if they put effort into the outer design no wonder my mom bought the 2015 sienna
Sienna and Sienta just like Family
It’s pity that JDM Alphard/Vellfire doesn’t go to North America. Those cars definitely make you as VIP guest in middle seats
When the last redesign of the Sienna. I know that the refresh happened 2017 or 2018. I guess the last redesign was 2011 or 2012
Is the transmission a ZF unit like the one the camry uses?
I'm pretty annoyed that I find myself in the market for a freakin mini van, but this video made it fun. :)
The arm wrestling segment was hilarious
The only reason I would get this is for its AWD.
I drove my Sienna FWD on a decent snow storm last year from Salem Oregon to San Juan Island in WA I was very impressed how well it handled on the snow. Exciting about new Toyota Sienna .
Except how this van compare Honda Odyssey . .

Loved it!
Toyota Sienna rides 100x better than the Odyssey ! I don't give a crap about looks. This is family hauler, not a Masserati.
"and available rear sunshades, so you will never have to explain about that bright fairy orb in the sky to your kids" LOL !
