Few questions: Is surge protection required on these units ? How did you handle that. How long was the line set ? Did you need to add additional refrigerant due to line set length ? Thanks for the great video.
Doing boces right now learning hvac definitely wanna do it as my career gonna become an apprentice after my last year of high school, hopefully I can get into the union or get a job at a company.
That’s awesome to hear! These are nice units to install I’ve only heard good things from people with them. Hope you find a good company or union job man!
I solder with the stay brite! Really don’t see a need to braze a lot of these jobs when it’s way quicker and easier to do this and it’s proven you know?
Great video you just earned a fan.. question if I’m replacing a 5 ton single stage and putting in a seer2 18.5 seer 5 ton Bosch am I gonna like the new Bosch inverter package ?
Our NH winters have certainly moderated. What a summer so far too! Are heat pumps genuinely beginning to provide value here? I've been giving very serious to mini-splits. And while I truly have no idea which brand to invest in, perhaps I should seriously consider a model with a heat pump. The real selling point would be if during the fall and the spring, the heat pump turned out to be more cost-effective than the FHW-oil. God-forbid the heat pump could actually augment the boiler in the winter.
Great question sorry I’ve been away for a bit. Heat pumps are absolutely great for New England! The only time I would be hesitant is maybe a really old building with poor insulation. Otherwise they will do great. My last house was near Keene and it was a two family on slab construction. Each side had 3 Mitsubishi hyper heat units and we had heat when it was -17 last winter overnight. Woke up to 70 in the house. Cold climate heat pumps like Mitsubishis hyper heat are great. Bosch has a new IDS Ultra unit coming out that will heat down to -13° as well, that will be a central ducted system. Meaning you wouldn’t have to use any backup gas heat below 20° like the current versions!
Why both lines insulated? Just had 3t HP Bosch IDS20 installed and tech said just the larger pipe. Inspector said same thing when he inspected for the town. Not needed. Why here?
Yes! They will run quite often given the outdoor conditions. They are wonderful systems and they are modulating so although it may be running often, it is only dc voltage and extremely efficient. Hope this helps!
1 of a few things i hated about the bosch odu is the clearance to work around the service valves, like wtf! it's so tight! i can not fit the ratcheting service wrenches on the 3 ton units. stupid!
Really like the way you curled up the low voltage control wire great idea! Just like a back in the day phone cord. Thanks for sharing
Nice, neat install. Well done!
Thank you!! Appreciate the support on the video.
Came here for "Bosch Heat Pump" install, stayed for "Adding Recirculation to Water Heater" ... Thanks!
Thanks for the support!!

Do you braze or stay brite sweat the linesets?

Thank for checking out my content! Yeah of course you will love it! They are the best technology out in my honest opinion.
Question, did you install heat strips within the air handler as well?
Not this time! A lot of times we do though
Are those the ones that do heat and ac
Yes exactly! These units do a great job efficiently at both.
Be a good idea to put a vinyl on that line set to cover up the armor flex so it doesn’t deteriorate
Good call! Boss man didn’t send us any so I did what I was told haha

The ultimate answer here is that they should both be insulated for efficiency reasons. Doesn’t “need” to be done
is it normal for my bosch bova to run for a very long period of time? and is it using a lot of energy to do so? im a new owner of one

Nice video Josh 👍
Have u ever been told u look like streetspeed717 🤔
Thank you! Haha I haven’t, but I checked out his channel and I can kinda see why you might say that!
