    A small correction to the Willie Mays WAR graphic. I assume you are going by rWAR given the other graphics in the video. Willie actually had 6 10+ rWAR seasons which is 20.6% not 4 which is around 14%. Willie is the GOAT.

    • @nomorefielders
      @nomorefielders  3 місяці тому +4

      So after looking at this, it is a straight typo. The graphic itself reflects the correct % while the 4 is supposed to be a 6. Good callout

    What's crazy about the Dodger trio is that Will Smith is batting .355 just after them. And he was extended for 10 years, just mind-blowing.

    • @TheBlackWaltz
      @TheBlackWaltz 3 місяці тому +3

      Their top 3 batting averages, the lowest of the 3 is Ohtani at .336 which is insane. And then ops, their third best ops is .950. Which is unreal. If freeman can somehow hit 160 ops+ they would have 4 players above 160ops+ right bow they have 3. If they got even average production from their 7-9, they would be undisputed top in offense ever so far. They have a 125 ops+ with their bottom 3 being -9 ,29, and 54. That's insane.

      Obviously that’s early in the season, so the numbers have settled down a bit, but yeah. Whenever I watch them I’m like “Alright, Mookie’s up, let’s make something happen!” And then Shohei. And Freddie. And you can’t pitch around them become you still have to deal with Will. I wonder how a pitcher feels… 😅

    8:34 goes to show you how Roy Doink's contributions to 1872-1881 Hartford Tigers and from 1882-1888 Albany Lookouts was really underrated. 212 hits per 162 and nearly 60 SB per 162 with a career 135 OPS+ is really something. The fact he hasn't been on a veteran's committee ballot at all to get him into the hall is a shame. I guess if you didn't get 3000 hits before 1900 you're just forgotten at the plate.

    Ugh, I wish Rollins had the batting stats to put himself, Utley, and Howard in this rare category. My favorite trio growing up.
    The only season that comes close is 2007, With Howard's 145 OPS+, Utley's 146, and Rollins' underwhelming 119. But Defensively, there weren't many better middle infield duos in history.

    I know they're not near the top but I can't help mention the lineup of Cal Ripken Eddie Murray and Ken Singleton, especially since Murray and Singleton were both switch hitters, and two of the best switch hitters ever. Not a trio a picture wants to see in the middle of the lineup. And it was really only 1983 in which the three were at their peak and together, coincidentally the year they won the world series
