- Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is the newest restaurant at the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT replacing what was Tokyo Dining. This seasonal restaurant is truly a festival of the four seasons and will be updated accordingly and features a variety of Japanese dishes that are served as soon as they are ready rather than how you ordered your meal - so if you order everything at once be prepared to get random dishes at random times.

@Craig, we can really see your production skills ramping up. Polished intros, background music in appropriate places, it's really coming along. Also, good job rerecording the menu. Viewers want the info. It doesn't matter if it wasn't in the same take. Keep up the good work, and keep pushing your production limits. It makes a difference in the quality of the videos.

You're clearly pushing to improve production quality and it really shows - your videos keep getting better! I am really enjoying the videos from inside the parks and restaurants as it gives us a real idea of the atmosphere and what is going on currently. Would love to see some walkabout-style videos with no commentary in the parks just to show what crowd levels, construction walls and atmosphere is like at the moment (good way of taking the temperature of the parks for us planning trips). I also really enjoyed it when you both switched from "presenter voice" to a more normal conversational voice - it felt more engaging like you were talking to me rather than at me 🙂
That was an excellent review. I want to eat there, and I don't even LIKE sushi! I also think Erica is coming out of her shell, and better able to give the boys a run for their money. Nice rant, Ryno. Nice lush, Craig.

couple of requests:
1- Benchmarks for each of the rating categories would be great.
2 - For the next festival, if it is possible and all parties are up for it, it would be great to have a channel crossover event with you guys, Deni, Panda, and any other vlogger friends.

Great review! And fast turn around time since you mentioned the hurricane, always impressed with the quality you can produce in short timelines (it takes me HOURS to edit a 8-10min video or even a 60sec tiktok). Hope y’all stay safe with the weather

Pre pandemic I used to have the Epcot annual pass and came to the Japan area all the time
Luckily I moved to Asia in early 2020 and can just experience the real japan now all the time 😊😊

Thank you so much for introducing this restaurant to me! I wasn’t aware it was in the Japan pavilion and the menu looks very good! Love Izakaya-style food and of course sushi as well. I think you all did a job with the pronunciations! My friends taught me that an easy way to say Japanese words is to just break up the syllables, and say the parts of the word exactly as written, which I think you did well! 😊

Erica - I just wanted to mention re the Agedashi Tofu: I’m sorry you weren’t too keen on it. I haven’t been to this restaurant, but if you haven’t had this dish before anywhere else, it is pretty soft inside with just a thin layer of crispiness on the outside, and the tsuyu broth tends to have a very subtle flavour to it. So I think maybe it’s not just the right dish for you if you’re not a fan of that. It’s one of my favourite things to eat though, so I’m super keen to try it if/when we can afford to fly back to the States and go to WDW again.

All I could think about when Craig was talking about eels were the shrieking eels from The Princess Bride.
Also the moray eels from the little mermaid are Flotsam and Jetsam.
Neither of these references are conducive to enjoying sushi with eel in it but there you go lol

Excellent review. I'm like Craig and Ryno; I love sushi but tend to like the more Americanized stuff. I would try the raw sushi but I have a feeling it's not my thing. I prefer the cooked stuff with sauce ontop. This place reminds me of the first place I actually had sushi and it seems to be more authentic sushi. But with that menu, there is for sure something for every sushi lover.
We were told yesterday, one stamp for each season, and then we will get a fan.

We tried Waygu in Kyoto. Amazing!
I look at it this way. They have to appeal to a large cross section of people. The quality is there, but flavor profiles (heat etc) will tend to be more middle of the road.
This was awesome, please keep doing dining reviews ON LOCATION. I know it’s more work but ambiance is everything for me and when you used to do dining reviews in the studio, i lost interest pretty quickly.
Wait til you go to Takumi Tei. Save up and go to Takumi Tei. I will never forget that experience and the food. I still don't understand how a mushroom sushi could have so many flavors and textures.
I am so hungry for sushi now , but trying hard not to given in an place a carryout order. 😅
Great video! This place looks great but I think it’s a little asinine that Disney charges an extra dollar for sauce when you order $120 sushi dish. I’ll probably still try this place out when we are down in October.

As a warning to vegeterian/vegans about agedashi - double check with your server as traditional japanese dashi has fish stock in it. You can get a seaweed only version, but that’s usually special order
