I'll say the Swiss Family Treehouse doesn't suck because of one the day I decided to go through the hassle of climbing the thing and ended up behind a little boy who was dragging his mom and dad with all the strength he could muster, pointing out every scene like it was the best thing ever and assigning them rooms. His dad (basically a walking "What's got into my kid" face) casually suggests to mom that they'll have to find the movie somewhere and the kid strait-up screeches loud enough to stop the procession of people going through the treehouse and screams: THERE'S A MOVIE?!!! Best Disney-moment by far for demonstrating how the "magic" is sometimes down to the kids who still believe in it. The Spitting Camel NEEDS TO GO. It can take the carpets with it.
That's wonderful! My son has always loved that movie. It's so heartwarming and classic Disney. We quote it regularly. "C'mon little fella. I won't hurt you" 😂😂
I love how on Aladdin, the camel sprays water at you. I had a great memory on it where I got my family soaked and I got it on video and it was so funny!!!!!

I think it's because they are using actual ping pong paddles, which have rubber on one side and it would be hard to get a paper label to stick to the rubber side.
I love these discussions! But I really wish they would think about rides from different view points. The Flying Carpets are something that everyone can ride! I took my grandma to Disney a few years back and she really enjoyed this ride. She’s not able to ride many different things, especially things that aren’t boat rides. I will cherish the moment we got to ride the ride together and will always remember her big smile. I have ridden the Flying Carpets every time since.
Totally agree with Craig about the Tiki Room. A Dole whip and some singing birds...you can’t top that! 😬😊❤️ awww and Charles thinks Magic Carpets doesn’t suck😊

Whether I agree or disagree with the opinions on the different attractions doesn't matter. What touched me the most is when Charles talks about Aladdin & POTC, he gets emotional. His descriptions are on point, there's an excitement to his explanations. And to me, when I talk about Disney that's what the magic is all about. If you think things suck or doesn't suck, its the emotional magic that encompasses almost every inch of the parks. (coming from a true tourist, not a local that seems to take the parks for granted)
Riding the jungle cruise a couple of weeks ago we were stalled waiting to unload off of our cruise and the boat was drifting backwards and a lady asked the skipper why we were going backwards and he screamed “Because we’re on a boat,ma’am!!!” And we all laughed so hard. Definitely makes it an awesome attraction when the skipper is fun
I love the Swiss Family Treehouse, the last time I was in the Magic Kingdom I went up the treehouse and loved it as always, but was sad knowing that I would soon be wheelchair bound, and then I would never again be able to get up into the tree.
One of my favorite things about the Treehouse is being able to go up it at night and see the fireworks from a high vantage point. As a person who needs some time alone, having the opportunity to be away from all the crowds and watch the fireworks is amazing!
When we ate at Skipper Canteen we noticed how quiet it was. There were plenty of people eating there but somehow it stayed relatively quiet and calm, plus the food is good.
Yay Swiss Family Robinson- I LOVED this movie as a kid, and just had my kiddos watch it (ages 6 and 8) and they love it, too. We are super excited to visit the house on our first visit to WDW in October!
We've had Dole Whip at a local ice cream place here in NY since I was kid. 20 years probably? My mom is allergic to dairy, so just like Craig mentioned - it's nice for people who can't have ice cream. It made all the difference to what ice cream place we went to as a kid.

One thing that puts the tree house on my suck list is that it's not accessible. Not only can wheelchair users not experience this attraction, but guests with bad joints or other mobility restraints. I didn't get to see this attraction much as a kid because of my mom's bad knees
Have always been confused about the "exclusivity" of Dole Whip at the parks... I can remember it out local soft ice cream stands going back decades... maybe the owner was a Disney fan lol? That being said, i still love it.
I'm surprised at Pete's vote for SFR Treehouse. I love it's simplicity. I love that you actually have to use your imagination to picture the family living there, to think of how they engineered all the conveniences of modern life to work in a tree. I love the romanticism of the decor in the rooms, and the view at the top is awesome. If there's no wait time, it's an absolutely perfect way to kill 10 -15 minutes while waiting for your table at Skipper Canteen BTW.
Pirates is my favorite Disney ride and it was the one I most wanted to share with my kid when I first took them. As for the Dole Whip, mine was free last time because the registers were down so it was even better. lol.
Since I was born in 1987 I grew up watching those classics. And I completely agree that parents needs to introduce those classics to their kids, I know I will.

The Enchanted Tiki Room was my Mom's favourite attraction, and even though I agree with Ryno that it needs a serious refurb (that clicking!), I go in to see the show every time I'm in the Magic Kingdom. If they ever got rid of it entirely, I would cry.

Agree with Ryno and Charles! We love the carpets better than Dumbo! We much prefer the theme and the ride seats are much bigger so better if you want to ride with two small kids or if you are more Pooh sized like me.
We were just recently in Disney and learned about the fact that the Tiki attraction was originally intended to be a restaurant on a Keys to the Kingdom tour. Everyone on the tour thought that would be a great idea - including me. Having said that, I also love it as it is. I also remember loving Swiss Family Robinson Tree house as a kid. It was one of the first movies I saw in the theater as a kid and it’s too bad that less people know about it now. I do think updating it with some interactive aspects would be a great idea. Finally, while Dole whips may be overly hyped, I do not think sucks is the correct answer - especially the pineapple upside down cake with dole whip on it. I also love the citrus swirl and orange bird. Both are refreshing treats when it’s hot out and I agree with Craig, a dole whip while enjoying the tiki room is wonderful!

My very first trip to WDW we did Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse... unless I have kids and take them there's no reason I would ever go on that again. It's dull. One thing that sticks out to me about this is that everyone is wrong here about Dumbo. The original Dumbo ride at Disneyland actually WAS the original ride with this concept. It was created by Arrow Development and was initially a failure because it was so new and on opening day it continuously broke down. Dumbo is the original and that is why the image of a smiling child flying on dumbo is such an icon of Disney parks.

I've yet to watch Swiss Family Robinson, but I've always loved the treehouse. The Tarzan overlay in California is okay, but I miss the original and am glad it still exists, for now, in MK. My nostalgia for it is entirely tied up with how much I loved the physical treehouse in Disneyland as a child - even the Swisskapolka!
Magic carpets are for the parents! We can get some refreshments and take a break. Leave it alone lol. It doesn’t suck. It’s a great break and the kids love it.
What I want to defend with Magic Carpets is that someone in a wheelchair can still ride it. With the major refurbishment in fantasyland and adding a second set of Dumbo cars they didn’t change that to be accessible which stinks for someone like my brother who wouldn’t be able to climb in and out of the ride.
The Aladdin ride replaced the old Adventureland Bazaar and Courtyard (Tiki Traders, The Magic Carpet, Oriental Imports, Traders Of Timbuktu and the Band Stand). A real shame.
I agree with Pete on Aladdin's Flying Carpets. Off the shelf and a missed opportunity. I wish they would have done a dark ride a la Peter Pan where you're suspended from the ceiling and fly over Agrabah. Or a more thrilling approach like a rollercoaster or simulator doing the escape from the cave of wonders.
THANK YOU CHARLES AND PETE. Oh my goodness, I lived 17 years with people telling me how great Dole Whips are. I have always been a HUGE fan of pineapples. Every time I said I went to Disneyland, somebody would ask "did you have a dole whip? Did you have a dole whip?" The answer was always no until my Grad Night. All my friends know how much I like pineapple, and coaxed me into getting one. I finally tried it and almost immediately spit it out. It was HORRIBLE! Thank God I bought a stick of actual pineapple at the dole whip stand because I got more enjoyment out of eating that thing than the ice cream crap that they have coming out of those machines. I was so excited to try it and I felt completely and utterly ripped-off. If you are going into the parks and you are someone who always has to get a dole whip or raves about them all the time, you need to get your head checked because they are NOT good and are a complete waste of money. Them and Churros.
Best Appetizer at Skippers Canteen are the Cachaps! Delicious pork and avocado whipped sauce, a must have. Wish they did have more flavorful food especially with the Taste Like Chicken rather than just spice. Highly recommend having their coconut rice
You guys need a movie night at Pete's and watch Swiss Family Robinson! I have to admit that I never do this any more. I did do the Tarzan treehouse in DL recently. It has a great view of Galaxy's Edge from the top. If you look at the original attractions of DL or WDW, it shows how much more simplistic we were. It took much less to entertain us than it does currently. Now we have to be completely amazed.
I love so many classic Disney attractions, some of which no longer exist, but I have hated the Tiki Room since I was a kid. It is just noise, noise, noise to me, and I will wait for the rest of my party outside rather than subject myself to the horror ever again.
I wish it was easier as a parent to show the classic (40+ years old) movies to my kids. If they were more cheaply available I'd love to return to my childhood where we recorded them on Vhs tapes off the Disney channel.
I agree about the Magic Carpets being unnecessary. That style of ride is already at Dumbo (though it does make more sense to ride a magic carpet - that was actually a major plot point in Aladdin). And if you want an unoriginal attraction that causes congestion, just head on over to the Prince Charming Carousel. Yes, there's a lot of history to that particular carousel, but even when the park opened, carousels had been around for about a century, and they're everywhere. My apologies to Michelle Tanner.
I agreed with Craig and his reasoning for every single thing except for the dole whip, that one I agreed with Charles. But tiki room, treehouse, magic carpets, I had the exact same thinking.
I enjoy these, though the Sucks/Doesn't Suck threshold is sort of a tough one to judge. To me, for something to "suck" it would have to really be such a net negative. For example, I don't think the Magic Carpets is a great ride and the location of it does suck, but my kids have an absolute blast riding it and is usually is a pretty short ride so a nice thing to get them on quick, so hard for me to say it "sucks". Maybe they do need to add a "Meh" paddle as well
i agree with pete on the magic carpet ride it just takes up space although my grandkids had a fit i would not let them wait 1/2 hour for it but we did not spend a lot of money for a fair ride so kids were waiting for jungle book !
I’m 55 loved The Swiss Family Robinson movie, to me it’s like the castle. It’s a staple. I would be devastated if it was removed. Even if you don’t come inside the treehouse just having it there is a happy place

I thought this same thing. I once heard someone else say that the carpets were manageable for special needs people. That alone makes them worth it.

One thing that sticks out to me about this is that everyone is wrong here about Dumbo. The original Dumbo ride at Disneyland actually WAS the original ride with this concept. It was created by Arrow Development and was initially a failure because it was so new and on opening day it continuously broke down. Dumbo is the original and that is why the image of a smiling child flying on dumbo is such an icon of Disney parks.

Dole whips are a god send for us vegans in the park! We don't get mickey premium bars or many of the other snacks around the parks.
Dole Whips are fantastic. The best ones are at the Dole Plantation in Oahu, Hawaii.
The circus land should have all the off-the-shelf rides for kids. Aladdin could be a dark ride with its show building just beyond the west boundary.

I've yet to watch Swiss Family Robinson, but I've always loved the treehouse. The Tarzan overlay in California is okay, but I miss the original and am glad it still exists, for now, in MK. My nostalgia for it is entirely tied up with how much I loved the physical treehouse in Disneyland as a child - even the Swisskapolka!
Couldn't agree more with Ryno's opinion of the carpet ride! Yup. It's the same ride as Dumbo.
Magic carpets are for the parents! We can get some refreshments and take a break. Leave it alone lol. It doesn’t suck. It’s a great break and the kids love it.
What I want to defend with Magic Carpets is that someone in a wheelchair can still ride it. With the major refurbishment in fantasyland and adding a second set of Dumbo cars they didn’t change that to be accessible which stinks for someone like my brother who wouldn’t be able to climb in and out of the ride.
I love Dole whip because I can have an “ice cream” treat without dairy, which I can not eat. I think it tastes fantastic though, love the float.
Pineapple/vanilla twist. Yum Chocolate/vanilla twist. Yum. A summer favorite.
The Aladdin ride replaced the old Adventureland Bazaar and Courtyard (Tiki Traders, The Magic Carpet, Oriental Imports, Traders Of Timbuktu and the Band Stand). A real shame.
I agree with Pete on Aladdin's Flying Carpets. Off the shelf and a missed opportunity. I wish they would have done a dark ride a la Peter Pan where you're suspended from the ceiling and fly over Agrabah. Or a more thrilling approach like a rollercoaster or simulator doing the escape from the cave of wonders.
THANK YOU CHARLES AND PETE. Oh my goodness, I lived 17 years with people telling me how great Dole Whips are. I have always been a HUGE fan of pineapples. Every time I said I went to Disneyland, somebody would ask "did you have a dole whip? Did you have a dole whip?" The answer was always no until my Grad Night. All my friends know how much I like pineapple, and coaxed me into getting one. I finally tried it and almost immediately spit it out. It was HORRIBLE! Thank God I bought a stick of actual pineapple at the dole whip stand because I got more enjoyment out of eating that thing than the ice cream crap that they have coming out of those machines. I was so excited to try it and I felt completely and utterly ripped-off. If you are going into the parks and you are someone who always has to get a dole whip or raves about them all the time, you need to get your head checked because they are NOT good and are a complete waste of money. Them and Churros.
Best Appetizer at Skippers Canteen are the Cachaps! Delicious pork and avocado whipped sauce, a must have. Wish they did have more flavorful food especially with the Taste Like Chicken rather than just spice. Highly recommend having their coconut rice
Change Tiki Room into the Tokyo version with Stitch ^^
There was already a live action movie about the jungle cruise, African Queen. Or the attraction was based on the movie.
You guys need a movie night at Pete's and watch Swiss Family Robinson! I have to admit that I never do this any more. I did do the Tarzan treehouse in DL recently. It has a great view of Galaxy's Edge from the top.
If you look at the original attractions of DL or WDW, it shows how much more simplistic we were. It took much less to entertain us than it does currently. Now we have to be completely amazed.
Tiki Room and Carousel of Progress both really need a lot of love. They deserve it. Tight pockets disney is not keeping up on their attractions.

I love so many classic Disney attractions, some of which no longer exist, but I have hated the Tiki Room since I was a kid. It is just noise, noise, noise to me, and I will wait for the rest of my party outside rather than subject myself to the horror ever again.

I wish it was easier as a parent to show the classic (40+ years old) movies to my kids. If they were more cheaply available I'd love to return to my childhood where we recorded them on Vhs tapes off the Disney channel.

I agree about the Magic Carpets being unnecessary. That style of ride is already at Dumbo (though it does make more sense to ride a magic carpet - that was actually a major plot point in Aladdin). And if you want an unoriginal attraction that causes congestion, just head on over to the Prince Charming Carousel. Yes, there's a lot of history to that particular carousel, but even when the park opened, carousels had been around for about a century, and they're everywhere. My apologies to Michelle Tanner.

I agreed with Craig and his reasoning for every single thing except for the dole whip, that one I agreed with Charles. But tiki room, treehouse, magic carpets, I had the exact same thinking.
I enjoy these, though the Sucks/Doesn't Suck threshold is sort of a tough one to judge. To me, for something to "suck" it would have to really be such a net negative. For example, I don't think the Magic Carpets is a great ride and the location of it does suck, but my kids have an absolute blast riding it and is usually is a pretty short ride so a nice thing to get them on quick, so hard for me to say it "sucks". Maybe they do need to add a "Meh" paddle as well
i agree with pete on the magic carpet ride it just takes up space although my grandkids had a fit i would not let them wait 1/2 hour for it but we did not spend a lot of money for a fair ride so kids were waiting for jungle book !
I’m 55 loved The Swiss Family Robinson movie, to me it’s like the castle. It’s a staple. I would be devastated if it was removed. Even if you don’t come inside the treehouse just having it there is a happy place
